it's a bike... it rolls.. it brakes and most importantly it is cheap...

and if you are exercising.. a bike that is a bit tougher to ride is good... at least it gives you a good workout...

don't see the point in having that... heavier and tire is already on the limit of adhesion with normal dual pivots...

unless you like having mud fights on the bike....i don't know why you see a use in that...and you need special wheels... wheels that do not space equally...

Anyone mind to share about this frame ?? Good and bad  tongue.gif

isn't that some 2 years old... no longer on sale...

even the bike it was based on the G5 is now replaced by the G6

it won't be a bad bike if that is the answer you are looking for.. how good is it of course depends on the price because there is always newer frames that are better than it...for instance, if you have to pay RM7k for it.. you have many other better newer choices now that would have surpass it..

it was claimed at that point that it was using some high end or highest end torayca carbon cloth if i am not wrong...although it doesn't say which type it was...

a lot of things is expensive... but we don't all want it...

i would simplify and call it the "stupidity and illogical thinking of humanity"..

why buy a horse when a donkey can cause you the same amount of death inducing pain by kicking your gonads...

those ladies look like aunties... are they from the golden girls or wat?

Guys, is polygon a good brand? It's 105 gear set bike is only 3.6 before asking for discount yawn.gif
*
the thing is... you were so convinced with the trek and with the trek... it is at the same price as the giants and merida?? then, the big ??? now is why downgrade back to a polygon? it is at best and i do mean "at best" on par with the giant and meridas...technically, they don't even have their production capabilities...

and furthermore, you said you were on a tight budget...are you able to go up to RM4k? comfortably...

we would have told you to try the polygons in the first place as they do have a 105 bike in that price range....but if you go to rodalink... you won't get more than 5% discount and that is if you are their member...

outside... you might get a huge discount but lerun is very strict with their polygon dealers undercutting their pricing...

I got burnt by a cyclist with polygon before as well as an uncle with Merida paired with Sora.

A question here for our senior.
Currently i am on 10 speed and the coming set of of wheels comes with 11 speed ready hub, the path to take when I am switching wheels- 11 or continue with my 10.
Thanks brada!
*
you've got no choice... if say a certain brand launch full 11-speed wheel... you are forced to buy it...

let me re-phrase your question...

"Currently i am on 10 speed and the coming set of wheels comes with 11speed freewheel, can i still use my 10speed?"

Yes, all 11 speed wheel includes a 1.85mm spacer to allow the use of 10speed cassette for backward compatibility...

in this sense, you are not force to go 11-speed and stay on what you have...for very obvious reasons...manufacturers can't force people to upgrade and neither do they want to lose market by forgetting the 10 speed users or increase costs by building specific wheels for 11 and 10 speed...so, a spacer solves the problem although some anal retentive a~holes might think of something to complain about using 10-speed on 11-speed specific wheels...

if that answers your Q

Budget is tight but I do want to get the best for my price range back to trek I guess

the polygon is giving you better specs but also more expensive and out of your budget

the trek is a better brand but lesser components and maybe affordable within your budget...possibly a more easier to handle frame geometry

you weight your options...

if i could do it all over again, i would have gotten a 52/36 crankset and 11-26 cassette.

now, climbing bentong on 39x25 feels like dying la. 15kg less and 10km/h extra ago, 25 was not a problem. i chose 12-25 because i dislike big ratio gap

now, very jealous to see friends climbing bentong on 28t cassette. but i hate the big ratio gap. which to choose?
*
well, mau gaya atau nyawa...you choose?

that or you need 22speed... 22 speed cassette that is....

30t can fit lar... but very hard to find that cassette...

tiagra can use 30t without changing RD... the usual short cage can use... the top pulley is quite close to the largest cog from what i notice... but no rubbing and stuff...
