Build will be completed today. I will post pics and the specs soon. Here's hints for those wanna play the guessing game:

-a complete bike
-the latest Red crank 50-34T 170mm
-the rest is all Force (black)

I'm not sure how it would weigh but a similar build with all Red is around 7.3kg, without carbonized cockpit and seatpost and not a lightweight wheels. Putting the bike on a diet could easily dip well below 7kg.

Hehe.

why 50/34?

7.3kg not a problem to achieve la. even with alu clincher wheels, alu cockpit and DA can go below 7.3kg. my setup is 7.2kg

I'm a fan of compact crank. Spinning up hills..going fast on the flat is not my flavor. Anyway I'm getting an Alu frame so to have such weight as your SL 3 is pretty cool! smile.gif

yes, but never bring in mar...

anyways, it's either standard or compact nowadays la... compact is really being accepted by many fellas nowadays especially the ones riding hilly routes...

and in crusing speed as high as 55kph... the difference between a 53 x 11 and 50 x 11 is only by less than 10rpms and you get less effort heading up inclines on a compact small ring which i think is a plus point...

Damn butthead you are pretty good. Frame fatigue is expected but 2-3 yrs down the road I may have upgraded to SL5 or whatever.

Well actually I'm scared this coming TDF they will unveil the new SL5. The 2 yrs iteration of Tarmac line is due right? It's ok for now cos later I can just transfer my stuffs over to SL5 or whatever. Initially want to get Full Red groupset only for my Merida but with just a little top up I get a complete bike so why not. It's alloy and I'm no 2 in Malaysia to own this.. tongue.gif

After this slowly put her on a diet..the seat post that comes with the bike is pretty weighty. From the net some already build that seems to go below 7kg.

Ok lah secret no more..I got myself the bike below..I'm immediately fell in love with SRAM double shifting. Not the best of the best bike available out there but hey I'm pretty much satisfied with what I got. Just wanna see how it rides compare to my carbon scultura frame, perhaps a little harsher biggrin.gif

might as well you just buy the SRAM red and push it into the mirinda??? the only problem is no 30mm axle crank which you will waste anyways if you buy the quarq...

how much of a top up are we talking about here??? the frame is going to cost no less than RM2k right?

most likely ride quality suffers over high frequency bumpy roads...

tats nuts...

ok lar... to be accurate it is only 5 rpm lar from a cadence calculator... and who is able to maintain 55kph for long periods of time... that is already pro tour TT speeds...

the benefits of the small ring would be more apparent than the standard crank big ring unless the rider rides purely on flats...

That time I did quick google on the review and couldn't find anything bad about it so for a price of the latest gadget or hand phones in the market (top up a bit lah) I get the frame..

Dubai all road smooth like silk. Couldn't justify the cost of sl4 only to ride in Dubai, so I get a lower end model just to compensate my lust. If I work in Msia that would be a different story. Well at least it will be a good ride for 2-3 years to come right? smile.gif

it is not bad on first impression lar... long term test will be different with the factors like fatigue all thrown in...

so, wats happening with your mirinda then... chuck aside since you have no wheels?

or you bought a pair of zipp???
