I'm in dilemma. Whether upgrade or not.. Lol.. Scared if upgrade then my battery consumes worst than 6.0.2.

after upgraded to ios 6.1. the 3g data connection remain the same. whats the difference then? sigh

Apple didn't mention that the 6.1 will fix any wifi/3G/battery issue... wonder what's the fuss over here...

anyway, after few days of testing, confirmed that just some bug fixed, other than that, battery life (still can last at a day or two), wifi and 3G (still unable/slow to connect sometimes) remains the same as previous version. (although sometime it does appears to be better...)

for my personal experience. my previous os is 6.0.2 which is very worst os which cost me battery drain like drink water but after 6.1 for me a least got improvement. i can use my battery a bit longer and stand by much more longer

When on 3g. Batt drain fast. On edge is ok. 10min on 3g easily drop 10% for my case

Mine after updating to iOS 6.1
Wifi on all the time, but about 5 hours were on 3G. About hour plus for gaming (Zenonia, plants war). Other time for whatsapp, SMS, some short calls, and FB/LYN surfing.

Pretty amazing I'd say.

same problem here... maxis user... it really freaking annoying.. it seems to be maxis problem.. hope they will solve it asap.

I've upgraded to 6.1. So far I don't face the EDGE vs 3G issue. Weird that it affects some maxsux users only.

I am however getting overly annoyed by no cellular data issue

My latest usage... 40% using 3g while the rest using wifi with 3g on.. Most of the time sms, whatapps, fb instagram and some minir browsing.. Last 10% used on gaming and video and gone within 20-30 minutes

I think I'm the only one facing this prob here... I updated from 5.1.1 to 6.1 on 4s. Now my biggest prob is not the battery or 3G connection, it's as if my phone doesn't multitask anymore Even switching between FB, safari & Instagram makes each app reset again walaoooo. Not only that, sometimes the app crashes by itself too & even a simple standby of a few minutes would make them re-open anything I last used

seems like there's some issue switching on and off 3G, it always jumps back to EDGE. then I have to switch on 3G first, then switch on airplane mode and off airplane mode then only the 3G is activated.

do a restore on iOS 6.1. should help solve this problem.


yeah happens to me sometimes so now malas switch already.. just leave it on 3G all the time.

yea mine too...after switching to EDGE...tried switching to 3G pun susah..sometimes gotta reboot phone...

wonder if this happens only to MAXIS users or others as well..or it's d IOS problem

i digi user also face this problem. not very common though.

updated 6.1 and regretted. Earlier with 6.0.1, i can get 1% drop per hour but now after 6.1, 5% per hour....Fcuk you apple...

this new update..seems like not user friendly with Maxis 3G connection...

Not sure whether previous version has this feature or not. I just found out that if i open the apple maps, on the 3D, set either satellite or hybrid. Then select one of my save bookmark, it will go to that place, tilt a bit(since in 3D mode), then the map will rotate 360 deg. Did you guys have this? It didnt happen for current location of searched location, only my bookmark. But tested on my ip5 friend, but didnt rotate. Try checked in the map setting but found nothing.
