Ya. Helped a bit. Not so easily from 3G back to Edge signal already. The new SIM card more stable in getting 3G signal

My experience with ios6.1.....

Standby 11 hours, used merely 2 hours on whatapps (WIFI ) and sms only..

80% left....counted as good? no idea...

Drops 1 % per hour during standby...

After updating to 6.1, I still have to restart the phone to get the 3G signal back after I exit the lift. Disabling and re-enabling cellular data/3G/airplane mode did not help either, only way to get it back is to off and on the phone back. Faced this on 6.0.1 as well.

Selecting Manual Connection is only a Temp solution to connect to 3G connection. Where there is no 3G it drops back to EDGE and does not connect to 3G automatically. Enable/Disable 3G does not help. This is very frustrating since I did not face this is 6.0.2. So its either the software or Maxis. DiGi, Celcom users are you facing this issue after the update to 6.1?

Guess they are not the same problem.

Problem faced by systemX = NO 3G/EDGE/0 AT ALL after leaving lift or bla bla bla.. ( Happens in 6.0.1 and 6.1 )

Problem faced by others = Unable to get 3G, always dropped to EDGE after updating to 6.1

...correct me if i am wrong

Just called Maxis, and the person over the phone told me that they are having reception issues with the nano sim and are still working on it. The workaround for now as suggested by the person would be to just restart the phone (for my case) or call them and get them to refresh my network location.

Hi guys. Newbie here... Jz got my Ip5 recently and software has updated to 6.1 as well. My concern is the battery drained 1% per every 2min while browsing with 3G (3G bar in full, location on, siri off, email manually fetch). Fyi, 170+ of apps parked in my Ip5. May i know whether this is the root cause? I have done the full resetting for several times and cycle charged as well but still facing the same issues.

If this is consider as 'common' for Ip5, then i fine with it but what i have worried if this is the defective 1. Frankly, i not really wish to go for replacement as i wonder that cosmetic issue for Ip5 has solved? I found that the 1st unit having cosmetic issue in Maxis when come to activation, they have replaced me the 2nd unit on the spot with the t&c that i need to bear the risk if the 2nd unit is worst than the 1st unit with no more on the spot exchange, other than send in for warranty claimed. Unfortunately, defective for 2nd unit totally unacceptable with a long scratch at the back for almost 7cm, apple logo also come with many scratches... I have query them whether this is the 'repacking' of rejected units, with no choice i have go back for my 1st unit...

Normal...previously 6.0.2 ...1% every 2 mins..

now 6.1 ...about 1% every 3-4 mins..

My battery life basically improved by 30-40%

Alternative Solution :

1) Get a car charger
2) Power Bank

But i still love my IP5...cos it's Fasttttttttttttttttttttttt...batttery also draining fasttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt hahaha..

samething

any os (windows, mac os, android, IOS etc) + junk + user who doesnt how to maintain

will always result in poor performance.

introduction of smartphones means ppl have to start maintaining it.

Although apple says dont need.. theres still a lot of junk because of apps and they tend to interfere with background running etc..

for me 3g still superb... so far ok for 3-4 hours worth +2 hours talk etc..... with normally batter from 5am to 10pm left 30 percent.

My one Celcom same also, since 6.0.2 until 6.1 nothing change. EDGE status most of the time. Must be something with the nano SIM.
