Done update my 4s and iphone 5 at 4am one hour after release.

At first maxis had a issue with ios 6.1 but was resolved by 7am.
issue was no 3g/edge data.

Noticed first thing with ios 6.1

After the erase setting and reinstalling from backup. Normally after that iphone requires u to set back the phone lock codes and icloud password.

Now no need icloud password.

Other than this.. no diff so far.

crap damn a lot of issue with ios 6.1 homesharing.

currently ipad is facing the most issue.
resolved already iphone n ipod touch n apple tv

as per usual. after update noticed others size increased from 600mb to 700mb

Stupid flaw in IOS 6.1 Home sharing.

Let say if u only install one tv show season ... u wont be able to find the "shared icon in video "
because
the whole episode list is open on that paticular tv show

fix
load another tv show and then unsync it.
only then ure episode list wont open .

The maps has been very accurate

especially Waze that uses Apple/Google maps etc api

any os (windows, mac os, android, IOS etc) + junk + user who doesnt how to maintain

will always result in poor performance.

introduction of smartphones means ppl have to start maintaining it.

Although apple says dont need.. theres still a lot of junk because of apps and they tend to interfere with background running etc..

for me 3g still superb... so far ok for 3-4 hours worth +2 hours talk etc..... with normally batter from 5am to 10pm left 30 percent.

mine now.. will show edge. but when i launch safari.. it comes back as 3g.

found another issue

"Find my phone app" has issue with IOS 6.1. Shows only my phones online status but no location. np in finding my ipad and iphone 4 which still on ios 5.11 n 6.0.1

i cant find mine.

it says online.
even shows the battery.
but no location.

tested also on the ipad app and icloud http.

can find all the other devices n other accounts.

before 6.1 i could.. still trouble shooting atm.

ip4s processor cannot flux as when needed. hence y i think the battery life improvement on 5

delete icloud backup
backup whole thing to icloud

find my iphone working again.

ios 6 above for smooth download etc need strong 2/3 bars. even now homesharing, remote etc works only at this.

before 1 bar can but inconsistent.

run maxis speedtest.
post a 3 bar, 2 bar and 1 bar.

Ure wrong. Read more on i5 spec. They could have made it more stringent. So he might have a point. On router settings etc and isp. Especially DNS set it at ure isp dns. Not google etc.

As the best setting for i5 is

Wifi

802.11n 20mhz Width (Enable Shortguard Interval) on 2.4ghz 1-11 only ( so wont work on 12,13 and ppl who use 40mhz width/auto on 11. The prob is most routers use shortguard interval option only with width either at auto or 40mhz. So no choice to enable it. Difference aint much just 8Mbps difference. aka 64 vs 72Mbps. So do it at ure diescretion Also at 40mhz u will get full 270 and with SI u get 300Mbps. 20 is 130 with si at 150.

802.11n 40mhz Width (Disable Shortguard Interval) on 5ghz at Channel 40.

this is what i am configured at and its working perfectly hand to hand with all my idevices at home which the full list is
ipad, ipad 2, ipad 4, iphone 4, iphone 4s, iphone 5

From what i saw on the FCC spec on the wifi power transmit. The higher channels transmit more on the router side but requires less on the ideviece. But from anandtech 36 was the best dbm. So set at 40 with Width 40mhz which is supported at 5ghz.

3gs wont work cause i change to 11n only on 2.4ghz. 3gs gets the update via itunes.

So far my idevices are set optimum only after i got homesharing 100% working. So hence if u can get this working perfectly then ure almost there.

btw y 5ghz. Cause finally iphone 5, ipad 4 can wifi sync quite fast at 150Mbps.

before this wifi sync at 64Mbps is unbearable.

no problem to get that
i got 10 hours at nearly 1.5days standby with 20-25 percent left.

it all depends on how u optimize the phone and the apps.

will redo it and post.

around 2-3 hours talk, wifi 2 hours, 2hours gaming, 2-3 hours video. (Some onboard some homesharing via wifi) 3g normally 40mins - 1hour a day .. on Waze. to and fro from work

i find doing the 8 hours trickle charge seriously helps. Hence i've been obediently charging from 11am to 7am everyday. wont remove it from socket at all.

well lte suppose to extend battery also.

i know i am getting longer time on dual band.

another thing ppl i am using a wallet case. not blocking the sides at all.

After all the scandals on the alu casings thats been going around.

seems only ori elements case has taken it to account.

waiting for my elements soft-tec wallet case.
