Because I remember when 5.1.1 using the same settings for everything..when people text me(whatsapp) during my wifi is off..the moment i turn on the wifi..I will receive the notification instantly..but since ios6 even this latest 6.1, I'm not receiving notification liao..I have to go in to the app only can see new texts.

hello all..i got one question..pls help me..when i click update to ios6.1 ..apple said

There are purchased items on the iphone "kimi" that have not been transferred to your itunes libarary. You should tansfer these items to your itunes library before updating this iphone. Are you sure you want to continue?

if i continue to update..all my apps will gone in my phone when i updated to ios6.1?

if you download from website is 900++ , if from handphone i think just the patch oni . that y smaller in size..

yalo mayb la. i think the whatsapp delay issue is because og f network provider maybe. i dun face this problem when i'm on maxis wan, switch to digi only got this prob

Mine asking the u all like too.. But some of them tell i need to update using i tunes..? Download the firmware and hit shift + restore at itunes.. So so confuse..

So of u also tell i just update using iphone .. Done..

Which one more better?

better backup to itunes first. but it doesn't matter if you don't mind redownloading them later. tongue.gif

it is rumored (most probably true) that updating by phone (software update a.k.a. patching) might result in unjailbreakable iOS 6.1.

If you are going to jailbreak your device (which release soon), then its recommended by using itunes update (shift + restore). Else you may just update via OTA (Setting > General > Update)

redownloading to itunes library? inside my iphone the apps still ok and can use right? no need to repurchase from AppStore again, right?

oo..because i'm using itunes to update the ios6.1.. and some apps in my phone are purchased by my office computer..and now i'm using my laptop to update the ios6.1...i did not want to transfer to my this laptop itunes library because i'm using broadband connection...got limit quota internet to use..so can i ignore to download the apps to this itunes library?

You can download back anytime you want without repurchase again. Just make sure you are on the same apple id.

So the step is just like this?
1. Download the firmware
2. Connect my iphone with itunes
3. Then hit shift + restore ..
4. Then just wait laa?
