QUOTE(mozambique @ May 17 2013, 06:00 PM) Hi Sifu SAMPERTH, Thank you for your comment.. This star has splayed legs. Plus growth is only 0.4cm since July 2012. Very slow compared to my other star. You mean she has fused scutes??? Confirmed she is female? Tq again.. I only suspect it may have fused scutes as only picture of plastron show growth line and not on the plastron picture . The splayed legs could be from anything - MBD , shell not growing properly .........etc I remember you got it when it was big already ? Could be from previous owner !! Cheers

QUOTE(schnapsey @ May 18 2013, 01:23 PM) Yea, it was something like the turtle picture you posted. Will it get very big? I'm just afraid it might get too big later then i would have to find place for a bigger tank. but anyway thank you so much for your advice. So glad to have you in this thread. They max out similar to RES about 12" for Female and 6-7" for Male on average !! Cheers

QUOTE(smsseah5 @ May 18 2013, 01:48 PM) Rare meh..I bought 6 for rm13 each... QUOTE(mic_tcs @ May 18 2013, 02:11 PM) Ur place plenty of supply, that's why cheap . Here scarce, so rare.. These are usually sourced from North - Hong Kong , Taiwan or China ( native to their side ) and are commercial sp ( both for food and pets ) BUT are seasonal thus only available for few months a year on our shore !! When out of season they seems rare thats why !! Cheers

Even thou knowledge aplenty on line BUT use some sense when processing these information !! Some information conflict each other from source to source !! Way of keeping our pets keeps changing . QUOTE(angah_as @ May 28 2013, 09:33 AM) Im asking because I am going to left my turtle at home for 2-3 days. can i put 3-days amount of dry pellet and let them strive to survive for 3 days Can get live food ie baby guppy or baby glass shrimp ? Live Blood worm will be best !! Are there any filteration if not better just starve them for 3 days or else come home to milky dirty water which do more harm !! Provided they are healthy hatchlings - 2 to 3 days without food should be OK Cheers

When buying cherry head - choose those with the most red on the head !!
There are few grade of cherry in the market - be warned !! Lower grade ask seller to discount accordingly .
Just like hi-yellow Radiated , Indian Star , Elongated ..... and regular one .
Cheers

Some sp namely Sulcata , Emys are the more prolific sp that i work with , each Female can drop a few dozen eggs per season !!
In my heyday of breeding just brown emys alone i could hatch close to 500 of them per season as i have so many breeding adult !!
But has since scale down due to time limitation ( other rare sp acquired ie Yniphora , angulate ...... And my human family )
Cheers
