If i'm not wrong, i did read it somewhere in COCM where the 6th gear is actually a cruising gear lol
*
6th gear ratio is rather high, that is why it is called a cruising gear, as its meant to improve fuel economy. However, the engine's rpm should still (and must) climb up consistently (slowly but surely) with the speed of the vehicle if the accelerator is fully depressed, and should not stay stagnant until it reaches the rev limiter.

Kikifish, try to check if your car mat is stuck beneath the accelerator pedal, and thus you are not able to fully depress the pedal. That may cause your speed to be stagnant since you are not able to fully depress your pedal. Just a quick check, never know what is stuck beneath.... nod.gif

Cheers...

I saw this on some sites and even other honda's sites. Probably only for foreign market? I heard the SA mentioned bout Modulo package too but they couldnt find anything for me at that time.[attachmentid=3420687]
*
It is actually Honda Access for the CRZ, and the kit is called CRZ Sports Modulo. So far only available in Japan, but of course you can custom order from Japan (if you have loads of $$) or wait for someone to replicate it in Malaysia. Another option is to check out half cut shops, as there has been a picture of a fully loaded CRZ Sports Modulo (pre-FL) halfcut somewhere.

Anyway, what can be done now? I thought honda oem is standard across all, that is flyaudio?
*
There is no OEM GPS/media player/screen for local Malaysian CRZ. All came from Japan with a standard CD player, the salesman only got some accessory shop to remove the original and replace with a screen/GPS/media player for you (and charge you RM3000 for it). They do not sell Japan-Spec OEM GPS/Media player/screen as it is incompatible with FM range in malaysia, and it comes in Japanese language only. I hope they return the original player for you.

Flyaudio is in fact made in china as well and they are similar to many china made brands such as Caska. They are no different from the one that you already have inside your car (maybe better specs, but still china player). It is just that they have made the player in such a way that it is fully compatible with your car (but still not OEM) with nice flush fittings, comes with steering control and all..... unlike most other Japanese head units which are "one-set-for-all-cars" kinda units.
http://www.flyaudioglobal.com/Contact/ContactUs.aspx

Try to push that unit back to the salesperson and get back your money. You are much better off doing the screen outside rather than giving it to the salesperson.

Usually almost immediately after you pump a full tank, the fuel consumption meter will spike to astronomical level, which isn't normal actually. Unfortunately it is a "characteristic" of the CRZ (maybe a feel good factor from Honda), but once you settle down on a few kms, the fuel consumption will drop to the actual numbers.
The same problem with the range meter, mine gives like 580km once I pump a full tank, but in real life, I barely make it 420km in one tank.

Wow haha, not sure though because it was stated in the resit that the Paper Filter would be under warranty claim but it was also stated there No Stock. Anyways, I'll make a call tomorrow again. If there isn't stock still, it would surely be that they are trying to bullshit me smile.gif Thanks for the advice anyways
*
Not all SC will stock the filters readily, thus I am not surprised it needs to be ordered. I had the same problem with the original charcoal filter, thus I insisted them to replace with warranty, with the same charcoal filter. They re-ordered for me from Japan, and replaced it, but naturally, it took 2 weeks for the filter to come.

Chinese say : "In the forest, there is more than one tree".... biggrin.gif
Walk away from that gal, and go find someone more worth your time and effort. My "GF" went with me thru thick and thin, and I tackled her using a kapchai only.... she is now my wife.

On a serious note, when I was earning RM3k salary, i only had a kapchai (first Modenas), and only could get a Proton Wira 1.3 manual when my salary was bumped up to RM5k. Naturally I had more liabilities as compared to yourself, and cars were tools back then, not fashion accessories. It took some time for me to be financially stable (like 10 years), which then I decide to enjoy some fruits of my labour, which I end up with a CRZ (with wife's approval of course).

Have some patience, sometimes good things comes to those who wait... good luck!
P/s: you can ignore me if you think I m giving you a grandpa advise tongue.gif I sometimes do that...

Thanks for the advice Bro, The SC itself called me up yesterday BEFORE I could call up and ask. They said the stock for the paper filter had arrived. I could send it back there now to change the air filter and also reseal the Windscreen due to the squeeking sound at high speed. They said it will take about 1 or 2 days as it needs to dry after resealing the windscreen. Is this true? They said if I can't wait , I could take the car on that day itself but I have to bare the risk of the windscreen not being properly sealed since the glue had is not dried yet
*
One thing to note, paper filter is different from charcoal filter ya tongue.gif Original came with charcoal filter, but i guess that's where the smell comes from, thus paper filter should eliminate the smell.
As for the windscreen, I suggest you let the glue set before taking the car. I had my windscreen replaced before (in my other workhorse, not the CRZ), and was not allowed to take the car away (the ah pek say he will whack me on the head with a spannar if I do that), thus had to leave the car there overnight. You may displace the windscreen if too much juddering happens while you drive.
Good luck, and let us know how does the paper filter work ya!

Wud like to ask u guys, has the price on the FL drop recently? Ppl been telling me car prices r dropping soon. Any idea?

The only indication of car price falling is the Japan FTA, but that only comes in 2014 if I m not mistaken.

Good news for CRZ or Honda hybrid buyers :

20k... hmm, guessing the turbo related kits are around 16k including ecu tuning and all? the rest for the clutch ka?
*
Will be more than 20k, the sky is the limit depending on the parts you use. Don't forget you'd need bigger brakes as well, and the ori clutch will burn out pretty fast thus needs replacing. You'd also need gauges to monitor the temp and boost, and also a beefed up suspension (coilovers), not to mention bigger rims and better tires.
I would not suggest to go for the turbo kit, unless you have important stuff like brakes, tires and coilovers sorted out first.
Cheers...

what have you done if you dont mine sharing?
Nothing major... the usual NA stuff. Full set of exhaust from to back, Takeda intake, GE8 cams to change the VTEC profile (ori CRZ profile pretty much meant for fuel saving)and Hondata to control all of them.

Hi all, what is the typical maintenance cost per service trip for the CRZ? Usually, what salary range is comfortable enough to afford the car? Rm4k-Rm5k gross (no other commitments)?
*
Anyone can advise on the above?
*
I wanted to reply with some calculations earlier, but decided that my scenarios may not apply to you. In short, RM4-5k gross (roughly 3.5k nett disposable income) a month with CRZ will put a lot of strain on your finances in my personal opinion, and leave u with hardly any savings. Maintaining the CRZ is definitely more expensive than a normal B segment sedan, and not to mention tons of poison running around in the forum tongue.gif

Anybody got this issue?
*
What's the issue Bro? Sorry If I'm noob that I can't see the issue through the picture?
*
The base of of the EGR solenoid is rusting.... it will be like that, unless you remove and polish it. The heat from the engine/exhaust, plus the humidity causes the rust to happen as it seems like its not coated.
I didn't bother about the rust... too bz enjoying the car.

Honda CRZ Taiwan model....
Lots of Carbon Fibre given on the bodykits!!
And where can i find those kind of spoiler?!
Any source?
Those pics are original dry carbon fiber bodykits from Honda Access, Modulo package. The bodykits are not limited to just Taiwan models, it is just that Honda Malaysia decided not to bring in any of the Modulo kits for the CRZ. If you have heavyweight wallet, it can be purchased from Honda Japan, although I m pretty sure there will be copies of it later.
http://www.honda.co.jp/ACCESS/modulo_top/
As for the spoiler, I did see some CRZ folks have them, if you bump into any during the CRZ club meetup, try asking them.

Tyre Repair Kit
*
Ah ok.. thanks.
QUOTE(OhNooy @ Jun 25 2013, 03:41 PM)
For the TRK, how are we going to deal with the tire after using the TRK? Must replace the whole tire? When using TRK, we are not supposed to drive over 80km/h but what if after repairing the tire, still drive below 80km/h?
*
I assumed that you are using a CRZ facelift. Once the punctured tyre has been repaired properly (hole patched, sealant removed from inside the tyre if necessary especially if lots have been used), you can drive as fast as you'd like. There is no need to replace a tyre.
However, if the tyre has been damaged during the tyre puncture incident (broken steel belts, cracked side walls, dented rims), then there is a chance the tyre will not last you very long and potentially be dangerous. This is true especially if you kept on using the tyre after it is completely flat, since rolling the flat tyre on the car will damage the internal structure of the tyre. Unfortunately to check on that, you'd need to go to a tyre shop to check if any internal damages were done during that incident.
Good luck!

Hi all, may I suggest to create a COCM car sticker to stick at the back of the car for recognition of forum members? Jz a small logo
*
There used to be stickers for COCM members. I believe they stopped that because not many would pick those stickers up after printing, thus a waste of money. Check with the COCM admins if you want to have your sticker printed.

Wah so detail one do include if u mod your car then cost will be extra tongue.gif plus if u add extra security like captor or connex to protect ur investment hehehe

Honda CRZ nowdays kereta panas already hehehe
*
I m not sure if CRZ is a hot car these days (who steals hybrids anyway, used car dealers don't want to take them in also), but Connex does give you a peace of mind especially if you park in dodgy places. Connex have a plug and play set for Honda CRZ, thus no wire cutting would be required. Highly recommended.

Also I have the built-in sat nav. Is there a website where I can update the maps (either for free or for a fee)?

Thanks.
*
There are no original built-in sat nav for CRZ in Malaysia, unless you get grey import units (comes with HondaNav, but not available through Honda Malaysia) or the salesperson install a third party one for you.
If it is the latter, I would think it is Papago, but double check with your salesperson on where to get the maps.
