haiz.. listen to my lady boss then, with condition i pick the next car maybe??  brows.gif

As long as the Lady in the house have a 4 door car to drive, or have a 4 door car as a spare, I think your options to get a CRZ (or any other car you like) is open anytime. It does not matter much if it is a Myvi or a BMW, most ladies do not think so much about the cars anyway (they worry more on their makeups and handbags, and Robinson's sales).

QUOTE(gunplakk @ Mar 11 2013, 04:42 PM)
Lets put it in context :

1) I drove FD 2.0 for 6 years and found the power more than sufficient
2) the FL, driven only for 2 days. Tested it mainly within 2-3K RPM
3) Feels nippy and eager to move. at some times, maybe more eager than the FD.
4) does it mean more powerful? hell no, just means that the electric motor really helps with the very low RPM and getting off the line from 0KMh.. so from 0-30KMh it feels alot like the FD or maybe slightly better.
5) I have not stepped on it and make the car scream to 5-6k RPM
*
The CRZ will lose out to the FD 2.0 as the speed and rpm goes up, it runs out of breath as the Rpm creeps to 5000 or more... thanks to the small engine capacity. Low rpm, electric motor helps a lot to keep the pace up, but once the motor runs out of juice, the FD will soar by....
BTW, would like to ask, did u do any dyno before on your FD 2.0? Would like to know what kinda power does the FD deliver on the wheels?

Coilovers, I would take Showa Tuning.... specially made for CRZ. All our CRZ came standard with Showa shocks anyway. The Showa Tuning ones are better, but comes with a high price. It is also non-adjustable, which is good for me, as I don't want local "engineers" to mess around with the coilover settings based on their street "experience".
Can't seem to find anyone selling them though...

Guys, need your expert advice here. I'm planning to upgrade the sound system without touching the head unit. Change of speakers will do or need additonal amp? I'm worried about the warranty matter.
*
Changing the speakers will not improve your sound system, as you are still using the same output from the stock headunit, which is rather weak to drive aftermarket car audio speakers. If you are unlucky, the sound may even be worse, as aftermarket speakers require more wattage from which only an amplifier can deliver, and not from a stock headunit. No point changing speakers only if you are not willing to invest in an amplifier IMHO, you are better off with stock as everything has been pre-matched in the factory.

As for warranty matters, speakers can void the warranty, as Honda dealers can claim anything they want based on the changes you have made to the car, and there's nothing you can do about it. If you want to keep the warranty, would suggest that you keep the car stock (everything) and you'd be fine....

Really? I thought our Malaysian Spec is the most basic spec? Because higher specs has touch screen player, reverse camera, push start, auto wiper, auto headlights those?
*
Our CRZ is really Malaysian-Edition, even the ECU for Malaysian CRZ are different from the ECU used in CRZ from other countries, including Japan. tongue.gif

Hello all CR-Z owners. I just got mine last week and I noticed that the Battery indicator (IMA) never reaches full. I've done a lot of breaking to recharge but still the same.. anyone seen this before? is it normal?

Thanks
*
It usually never reaches full. Only on rare circumstances such as prolonged downhill or coasting will the battery charges fully. I have charged it full before, but only on very few occasions, so don't worry about it.
Anyway like all batteries, it is not recommended to fully charge the batteries all the time as it will damage the batteries in the long term.

Omggg... any idea how much is the cost?  rclxub.gif

Late night, It would be a trap for robbers, and I think initially they aimed for my front windshield, make me stop at the middle of the road after smashed and come out to rob. Lucky it was a miss..
*
Your best bet would be Honda Service Centers, especially on low volume items like rear windscreen. However, I believe you'd need to leave the car there for a while, as they go order the part from Japan. I think in COCM, there was a member who had to replace the small rear windscreen, and had to wait a few weeks for it to be shipped from Japan. Naturally the car had to be left in the Service Center until the part arrives.

Any cr-z new owners have a strong smell like a dead rat (bangkai smell) coming from the front engine compartment? I noticed suddenly today had this smell. Thought i stepped on something bad but finally pinpointed it to come from under the hood. Not sure if its the smell of something burning.. hmm..
*
Mine got smell from aircond if i change the aircond mode. I guesd its because of the charcoal filter as mentioned by all the other Crz owner before?
*
Yes, it is the charcoal filter smell, although I would not say it smells like bangkai, it just smell bad when aircon is switched on. Go claim it from your SC under warranty from Honda.

Is it ok to rev the car >4,000 rpm that's less than 1k mileage?
Does this still apply to new cars and especially hybrids?
*
tongue.gif New owner's dilemma huh? Actually going all the way to redline also is fine, just don't do it consistently for the first 1000km, just in case there are some flaws in the component manufacturing. Furthermore, you should not drive the car very long distances without stopping too, or alternatively, let the engine cool down in between the journey. Don't worry too much about the engine, they are built to be reliable, and someone in the factory would have revved the engine above 6000rpm before you even received the car already (they test almost every car on a rolling dyno before sending it out of the factory) brows.gif

Mitsu car plates comes standard with the side holder, and have been thru JPJ, thus no issues with JPJ. Ours in the other hand, isn't unfortunately....

is our crz using the same cvt gearbox as the city and jazz?

from GE model.. but ratio a bit diff.. from what ive read..
*
Don't think so bro.... GE8 Jazz uses 5-Speed Autobox, only the old GD Jazz uses the CVT. However, I m not sure if GD CVT box is the same as the CRZ one though....

so there is a huge chance that crz cvt wil face the same issue as those who bought the jazz?

the jerking issue thingie i read.
*
No idea, no one used the CVT long enough to know yet. My opinion is that Honda would have fixed that issue before putting it into the CRZ, but that's just my opinion lor biggrin.gif

JDM car ma, speed limiter. Though it should be 180 km/h instead of 191km/h.
*
No speed limiter on Malaysia's CRZ, as we do not use the same ECU as Japan.

Yo, any FL owners here tried to go pass 191km/h in 6th gear? Mine seem to be stuck there.
*
Can you check what RPM are you hitting at that speed? The rev limiter is 6500rpm, thus if you are no where close to that RPM, you should still be able to tekan more.

They swap out a different ECU just for our market? or all export models have different ECU?
*
All export models have different ECUs compared to Japan, US have their own set, Europe have their own, Malaysia/Asia have our own set, while Japan have their own set of ECU.
Currently in record, there are 5 different sets of ECU for the CRZ around the world. The Hondata website list out of ECUs available : http://www.hondata.com/flashpro_cr-z.html

I will go test it again, i dont remember what the RPM was at, probably at 4-5k.

Yeah even at cruising gear, the speed should be able to go up slowly, but it was stagnant there.

Oh well, i just want to know anyways, not everyday i get to drive at 190+km/h anyways.. haha
*
Just becareful when you are doing that kind of speed.... sweat.gif
