Then the problem surface as we need to sell our car about rm30K to 2nd car dealer. Lol |

Lol That's the consequence of dropping the car price. However, you lost Rm30k for selling off your lion, but you buy a new BMW at 100k cheaper price, why not? I will be very happy to see that. This post has been edited by jfcheong: Apr 10 2013, 12:43 PM |

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if a BMW 328i just cost 150k. But think about the potential problems of having cheap cars as well...
What we really need is a better public transport system to tackle the existing traffic woes, otherwise having cheaper cars would solve one problem but add on to others. |

I don't agree so, ppl would and willing to pay for a better perspective. Yes, indeed more car on the road causing traffic jam. Don't think lower down the car price will significantly increase the number of car on the road, as at current situation, our car price I high, ppl not afford to get BMW, Merc... but ppl buy Proton or Perodua which is more affordable. The different in future is, ppl move forward from Proton Perodua to BMW and Merc. What we really need is a better public transport system to tackle the existing traffic woes, otherwise having cheaper cars would solve one problem but add on to others. Just my 2 cents... |

QUOTE(ultravilot @ Apr 10 2013, 01:00 PM) Let's take Singapore as example, their public transport is just so convenient, convenient enough that they don't really need to own personal car. But they really prefer public transport than owning a car? I don't think so, Singaporean don't own is bcoz the expensive COE, just look at the price of the COE, climbing and climbing. Enough to prove Singaporean still desperate to buy their own car. If the ability of owning a car is not an issue, they definitely will prefer owning a car than using public transport. |

If those cars drop into the sub 20k and 30k range, you're going to see a huge jump in car sales. That's going to be unavoidable. Let's not forget there's also motorbikes as well which we did not even factor into the equation.Just my 2 cents... |

KD SC told me that the "ku-dok" sounds from my front wheel might be the drive shaft is faulty. The service manage tells me that I might be able to get back my car today and wait for the part to come (under warranty).

Logically speaking, luxury car tax duty will be different with national car and Japanese car. If continental car is selling at 150k, Japan car sell at 80k. Proton is going close shop immediately. Everyone is going to buy conti instead other brand.
My opinion is, excise duty and import duty will charge differently on every type of vehicle, meaning luxury item tax will be the same, but proton and perodua will be cheaper Just my 2 cent |

Reason being it is our Malaysian products and we are Malaysian. It was such a disgrace when you find out that you are paying a higher price than others for national cars. Also, the gomen had charge so much tax money from the import tax la, car tax la. In the end, we pay ~300% of the original price? I know conti / jap / korean / other countries cars are branded la (compare to national car), but still, where is the tax money? Not going to ask for money back la, but at least, make Malaysia a better country right? Maybe less pot holes and maintain the road in a better way? My half a cent. |

I'm sure you'd have gone through this thread and aware of the issues. These issues are also solved by the SC. That is very important! Good luck! I decided to visit and buy this car this week.
