I'm confused. Are you waiting on the tow truck for your car now or is someone else's car waiting for a tow truck?

Not a position I like to be in. Sincerely hope everything goes well for you. On the bright side, you can screw them nicely into giving you a discount voucher for the next service. And if it's serious, make sure they damn well give you a courtesy car for your troubles.

Probably an electronic glitch with the ECU. Even if anything serious, warranty should take care of it. Keep us updated!

It's easy la, when you trade in your old car, they will give you a cheque for the value of your car. You tell them to settle it with your bank directly and bank will deal with them directly. If you still have any money left after settling your loan, tell your dealer to either issue the balance to you or directly to the showroom as downpayment for your new car.

The problem is when I trade in the car and get the new Pug, i only sign forms and change car. Didn't know that this fella will be like that. Tried to contact the SA, but not answering.

Keep calling. When I trade in my old car, the procedure was really easy. I had them deal with the bank directly and then had the dealer handover the balance to the showroom as down payment.

I don't remember if I signed the forms before or after they dealt with the bank. Either way, they can't take your car without your car keys and the bank won't release the geran without full payment. So even if you sign a bunch of forms before they deal with the bank, they can't take your car legally.

So don't worry about it so much. Just tell the dealer to deal with the bank direct and then bank in the balance either directly to your account or to the showroom. Only handover your keys once you see the money in your account or confirmation from your SA that they received the downpayment.

Since you have not traded in your car,but sold it to a used car dealer, you have to be a bit careful. I don't trust used car dealers,so would demand for a cheque upon surrender of the car to them. Prefer to hand the cheque personally to the bank.

An unscrupulous second hand dealer has plenty of tricks up his sleeves.

I'm not saying this is the best way,but that's just me!

They don't pay, they can't get geran from the bank. So once they pay, your car loan also settled and they can also get the geran. Whatever balance, just have them issue the cheque to the showroom. The SA will confirm when the money goes through, then hand over the car. It doesn't get any safer than that already.

No, I actually trade in my Myvi and get 408. The balance from Myvi will be part of my downpayment for 408.

Now i am actually driving the 408 already, but the old loan is not settled. Just called the SA (from Nasim) and asked him about this. He says the payment is not due yet, so they are not going to pay 1st. He mentioned the 2nd car dealer (his friend) need the geran for inspection.

Wow, can ah like that? They allow you to get the new car before you even make any payment? You win liao man.

Did they take your Myvi already or not? If they haven't taken your car yet, at least you are still safe. If they did take your car... then all i can say is good luck already. If that guy not honest, then you going to have a lot of trouble getting it back.

Chronological sequence of event

report breakdwon at careline at 8:50, the careline guy (Patrick), said he will check with nearest SC @CSL/Sg Besi to see if a technician can come to me and do the fixing there at the roadside and if none available, than towing service will be 'activated', he needs 10 minutes top to call me back

he called back in about 5 minutes saying unfortunately no technician is available to come to my aid at the roadside, so car needs to be towed, and he now will call tow service and saying it will needs at least 30 minutes to reach me.

Tow truck guy call me at 9:05 AM asking the precise location, landmark and saying he is on his way

Careline call me and ask if tow truck guy cintacted me, I said yes, (the same Patrick), Patrick said he will call him agin and follow up and let me know estimated time of reaching me

I call tow truck guy, asking where he is at 10 AM, he said stuck at Jln Tun Razak.

10:30 tow truck reach me, and car towed away.

Reach office at about 10:55 , Careline called at 11:10 AM asking has my car been towed away.

I call the SC to ask if car already arrived and the service advisor said yes, so described the problem , and he said blink blink and wiper snail pace swings swings is most likely battery problem.

They will take out the battery and check the health (mentioned 2-3 hour charging as a SOP/Std Operation Procedure) and promised to call me back this afternoon from 2 to 3 PM . He assured me they will replace the battery if the battery health is gone, and that will be under warranty.

So now just wait

(side story: just as i was waiting near the Honda Showroom, my peugeot Sales Agent greeted me Hello, I was surpised and more surpised that now e wears Honda Uniform, He told me he just left CSL Peugeot and joined Honda Jln Imbi since 1st March, much a freaking small world,

I asked him why he left Peugeot, he said he has disagreement with the sales commission/incentive that changes often. AND , confess Peugeot/Nasim is not agressive enought in giving goodies, etc.

He asked me to wait at Honda showroom, and i took his invite while checking out the new CRV with him telling a bit more a bout it with brochure handed to me.

When tow truck came, he even offer to drive away his colleague car to make the tow truck able to load up my car.

He then offered to give me give me a lift back to my office since he is heading to a roadshow.

I took his offer. so here I am back in the office
