just wanna ask opinions, especially to those who flash custom rom frequently, do you guys really go into setup menu one by one every single time you guys flash the custom rom? of course those options like wipe data and cache being selected.

Hi guys,

Just a quick question. Im on 4.1.2 with stock rom, nothing flashed or rooted. Say if I want to revert back to 4.1.1, what would be the easiest way to go about it? Would I have to root it to get it back to the previous firmware?

Many thanks in advance if anyone could shed some light. smile.gif
*
kaliku i think the best way is to flash the 4.1.1 rom through odin. you don't need to root it to get it back to previous firmware.

*
Standard steps : Always select wipe cache partition and dalvik cache - these will not delete any data from phone
Select wipe data if you are moving to another developer rom. Upgrading to same developer rom, you can usually skip wiping data
Some developers allow you no wipe data option ( especially those using Aroma installer) : your choice again
If you chose not to wipe data in recovery mode or in aroma installer option and phone fails to reboot successfully ( continual looping ) , just boot back to recovery mode and select wipe data - these will usually solve the looping problem
REMINDER : Always have a nandroid backup done just in case flashing fail and looping still continue even with data wipe
In such a case boot to recovery and select restore your backup

Sorry no idea at all with Xperia. Anyway I am no audiophile - the default quality is good enough for me. It is at least many times better than the Nexus series and HTC phones

I wonder why, whether this applies in general, or is because it is due to a particular logo it's supposed to be compatible with?

Have anyone tried using the screen recorder function..
It seems that it is a hype from Samsung Mobile demonstration videos as many people in the world cannot use this function as illustrated in the pictorial below..
I wonder if anyone can use this function..
I really want to use it..
Thanks..

...owns an Apple iPhone 5 but poor battery life and her desire to watch movies over a larger screen is leading her to switch to the Samsung GALAXY Note II. Chan sums up her feelings when she says, "After Steve Jobs died, it seems the element of surprise in product launches isn't that great anymore." But it's not like Apple isn't selling any phones in the region. Apple's new Hong Kong store has long lines going out the door almost every day. But ironically, this kind of success could be hurting Apple. With too many people sporting the familiar looking device, the Apple iPhone is no longer a status symbol in the region.

but the thing is I personally felt that Note 2 is quite common these days as well, just went to car wash the other day, was waiting in the air-conditioned room, the person of the left, a mechanic uses Note 2 to play Nova 3, I was sitting at middle with my LINE POP, and people on my right was Facebooking with his Note 2 as well.

My mum is using Note 2, my 3 other classmates using Note 2 as well. sooner or later I think the same thing will applies to Samsung as well.

well, i disagree. at least samsung has quite a few of popular models. S3 is still quite popular for those who think Note 2 is too big. Apple has only iPhone.

don't get me wrong, I didn't say Samsung is no good. I'm just saying human do always after something more than the usual. Something that can continue them to get excited. if Apple had made the world go "wao" years back, they can always make a comeback in the future, but not now I guess.

Well we are not talking about status symbols where the Note is concerned. I just don't know why owning a crapple product equates to a status symbol.

Samsung never marketed their stuff as status symbols, just good tools to be used. LG occasionally does the status symbol thing (Prada etc). Nokia used to do that with some of their premium ranges (although I personally felt those had crap features).

Vertu on the other hand, is a Nokia spinoff purely for REAL premium phones, with luxury materials for the casing and all that (diamonds, gold, sapphire glass etc) but again the features are crap. And they advertise in all those glitz and business magazines.

crapple on the other hand always markets itself is being different. Well since everyone's different now, in the aggregate you are the same ? laugh.gif isheep whistling.gif

It's a testimony to Samsung marketing that promoting a good tool made it successful, instead of some nebulous "feel good with the extra row of icons" factor.

Doesn't rom modding/flashing get you excited? laugh.gif Instead of the same UI for 6 years. Hell even Windows lets you mod your desktop.

crazyissac Even DBKL staff use Note/Note2. rolleyes.gif

Still my point was about a good tool and functionality vs "feelgood I paid more than others"

Sorry to say, not to say I'm being judgemental, but by looking the way you replied on Apple stuffs previously, you're kinda bias. Seriously, you are referring to other people, but other people thinking is not equivalent to me. LOL.

In my humble opinion, it's not about Status as other's keep making fuss about yada yada yada. It's all up to the users on which ecosystems they prefer the most. You like the Note, the S-Pen, that said that is your opinion, some might think they can be way more productive with iDevices. And in fact there's no answer to which phone is the best, it's which phone you suits best. And Windows Phone 8 is not that bad either.

Lols, I don't want to continue with this anymore, is more sounds like Fanboyism towards Samsung, and I'm not into it. And there's no perfect phone, the build quality of Note 2 no offense. you guys fill in the blank. No offense ya. Cheers laugh.gif
