You can flash ANY rom you want as long as is N7100 rom. The base is not important as it will be over written by your new rom. You can downgrade or upgrade anytime you want irrespective what rom you are on. There is also NO necessity to flash back any stock rom to flash any rom whether official or customs
The only thing you cannot change is usually the baseband which will remain for most custom roms. Some custom roms however will auto change the baseband too. But nothing to worry as so far all baseband is working well here

You have option to have HTC Sense UI look on Hawkish rom too

To be frank, hawkish rom have a more complete sense look. And those type of Sense Weather widget is all over the play store. Beautiful Widget for one got lots of sense skin.

I really had the impression where if I download DLL7 official ROM, I have to find a custom ROM that is for DLL7. I didn't know any ROM can be used.

To be honest I duno how. But sure it works as I played using it on my friend's s3 before.

Is easy on Note 2. Only on the Note need to be careful as the kernel type is crucial especially if one wish to flash non TW based rom ( eg CM, AOKP type). Using a wrong kernel will lead to hard bricking. Such an issue does not exist in Note 2. You can happily flash to any CM10.1 roms on any kernels

Got it! Am I right to say, it is safe that I could just download any custom ROM, so long it is 4.1.2? I don't need to bother if it is DLL7 or DMA5?

I was asking around for LTE version of Note 2, but the only reply I got is not arrive yet in Malaysia..

I did some research and found out that some say that Malaysia will not be having LTE version..
