Do u get more mileage with new rims?
Some ppl said lighter rim improve FC, how true is it?
*
You can check my fuelly.com to know detail. But you need to wait for next 1-3 months to know it. I dont think I will gain any FC improvement because of mixed driving (urban + highway).

Common sense tells me only will improve FC with 100% city drive.

With lighter rim, you loss momentum in highway driving and i believe you need to press accel pedal to keep certain speed.

Anyone who has replced with lighter rim, they can share experience.

I'm using Advanti Vigoroso... Using the super old method when weighting the RIM... And when compared side by side with the stock RIM "mcm langit ngan bumi"...

Ok. That is good rim!!! M.A.T. ... That i couldnt found in Penang.

sure they wont give the quality lug nut for free. E spec got hyper silver color meh? I saw only silver and fade black. The guy from the rim shop keep on poison me to choose Lenso ES6 which is even looks bigger but a bit VIP which i dont like. Not pening already.
*
I think that is chrome silver, I guess... Very shining. Put on the car lagi garang .. Because I am uncle level already.. The rim is not flat... All the rims can be easily get scratched when you hit border even you have good tyre with rim protection. That's why I dont like.

Dont let them poison you. You ask them match for you and see. Also consider the weight. I very particular with the weight. so I choose PDC. But PDE or ES6 also very good.

Thanks. My city drive FC really sux.
Always 12L/100km. tongue.gif
Thanks. I think the lost momentum feel is because the lighter rim get more efficiency to slow down when engine breaking happens, maybe?
*
Definately braking is smoother than before..

To explain about momentum. Let me explain in this way .... You drive from one start point ..For example: Within 10 seconds you accelerate your car to 80km/h and release the accel pedal and check if the car can go how far... without hit the brake pedal

1. With heavy rim, your car sure will roll further because of momentum.

2. Lighter rim... sure will not go further because no weight to push it keep running.

The super heavy weight big truck or lorry are very dangerous when they drive very fast. Because no way for them to do efficient braking. The momentum will keep pushing the truck move further.

Hi all, my car is quite new, currently reached 1100KM and the FC reading is 12.8L/100KM. Any idea why is my 1.6 EX Forte "drink" so much fuel? How do we cut that down?
*
You have to train your right leg.
1. Dont press fuel pedal siok siok. For example when crawling, dont press fuel kuat kuat then press brak frequently.
2. Dont cabar people. I saw many idiots cabar me, when I slow down after saw red light in front of me. They cut me, accelerate more and then stop at the traffic light. What is the point?
3. If have chance, try change to better LRR tyre, like Michelin Energy MX2. It is cheap for 16" - RM380
4. Use 5W30 or 5W20 Full sync engine oil.

Your EX with 16" rim suppose the FC should be better than SX in city drive.

My SX achieved average 8.5L/100KM in mixed city and urban drive. I expect your EX should hit at least 10L/100KM in full City Drive.

Thanks for these nice tips videos.
Mostly city drive and not frequently driving too as my house to/from office is less than 14km.
Before watching vid2, I have already been practicing gentle on the pedal and try not to exceed 2000RPM. The first day FC was 14L/100KM, so maybe this practice has lower my FC? But still it is way higher than my 17 year-old 1.3 Proton Iswara Aeroback sad.gif
*
Dont get it wrong... Dont maintain the RPM below 2000. Sometimes, you keep your car dragging in low gear will cause your FC even worst...

If no car in front, accelarate kau kau .. let it run ... maintain 60-80km/h is the best for FC.

Try resetting the trip meter. Most probably that value is averaging from even before you got your car.
What's important is you take note of the odometer. 9.7L/100KM should get you around 430-450KM per fuel tank.
Keep an eye on yours the next time you fuel up.
And reset the avg FC meter every fuel up.
*
Please use fuelly.com to calculate FC. That is the best way to calculate accurately... You have to pump full tank everytime.

my experience almost same as urs
hiway driving was 6.6L/100km increase to 7L ( never calc manually but juz refer to the screen)
for city drive, it surprised me on the acceleration initially but after awhile i feel not so significant (maybe i used to it or ecu dah adjust). FC wise, i was light footer before change and now more to heavy footer so FC is about the same
*
Thanks for sharing... This is good info.

So the bottom line is, if you spend most of the time in highway driving, dont change the rim. Will not help anything.

*
The odometer tak boleh pakai one... got one time I reached 7.7L/100KM but actually one is 8.6L/100KM.. And then one time hit 8.2L/100KM, but actually one is 8.4L/100KM.

Hi guys,

Whats your experience using the GPS in the car? Not sure if this is Speednavi problem or the hardware issue. Seems like the GPS signal not very strong. When I first got my car, sent to Naza to update new map. They couldn't get the GPS to work. Had to open up the HU. They blame on my tint.

You guys face similiar issue with the GPS. Sometimes take so long to get signal. Sometimes driving and GPS cannot get signal.
*
Mine working perfectly. Even got 3mil tinted

Wow.. you calculate with fuelly or what? 7.9L/100KM very good.
1. You make any modification on your car?
2. What is the Average value from your meter?
3. What brand of fuel you are using now?

After I drive my car 20-30mins .. I can hear some tiny noise when I accelerate my car. Sounds like something rattling or knocking.

Is this something called engine knocking? How to resolve this?

to answer your Q's
1. No mods, all stock biggrin.gif
2. Avg on meter: 8.6L/100km
3. Using mixture of Shell N Petronas

Recently tried filling up BHP and my word it is good even for Ron95 type..Faster response and engine feels lighter..
*
Average speed unit is km/h ... Check your meter and see. For example mine always average 32km/h.

You said the meter show 8.6L/100KM but your own calculation is 7.9L/100KM. Are you sure? Most cases the meter fc showing lower than actual one (own calculation).

im using Shell Ron95. Car milleague less than 450km...
FC is killing... i can see the fuel bar droping everytime i drive from 1 point to another even short distance.
1st tank is less than 300km. now is 2nd tank, half tank only can go 170km.
*
maintain your rpm below 2000. And always drive on left lane not to block others.

yeah yeah check out my fuelly using BHP and ESSO can easily get 460km with no sweat. Yup im quite a heavy footer even on highway i do 140km/h to 160km/h but the weird thing is that when use petronas.. usually my next usage will sux to da max.. 2nd time ady. never wanna try petronas nymore.

You can try additive like ceratec. It helps me.
*
Ok. Just pour the ceratec directly into engine and mix Petronas engine oil?

The knocking sound, is it because the petronas engine oil no good for my car? I hate it. I am not sure if this happen before. Just get the dashboard rattling sound fix and while trying to check rattling sound, unexpectedly found this knocking engine noise when accelerate. very little noise. If turn on the radio will not hear the noise.

As far as i know it's because the engine oil wasn't able to reach a certain part of the engine wall. Does it only happen during cold days? raining/midnight? Or day time afternoon under hot sun also having this issue? I pour in ceratec @ my first 300km so not sure whether it helps.
*
It happens after drove for 15 mins ... every time accelerate, it will have very slight knocking noise. Since it only heard when accelerate, i think it must come from somewhere part of engine.

sorry cant help you bro. perhaps try ceratec first? if still happen best is to bring back to SC get your engine change for free hahahahaha. but there are actually lotta engine which has this knocking issue.
*
I know you have try best to help me. Thank you very much!

I will drive for a while. That could be engine oil still fresh. If problem still persist, I will bring back to SC and ask him hear the noise.
