Who is this Lee CH asking for advice on gold on the GMS page? I have no idea how googling for gold investment as inflation hedge would lead to that page.
What I found was this instead: Gold: The Worst Inflation Hedge Ever Edit: Perhaps one of the more interesting points raised by him is as to just how useless gold is in a hypothetical doomsday scenario (which, of course, is taking the hedge issue way too far). What is actually useful is what you have in hand physically. Now those folks at GMS like to claim that they have physical gold, except I'm pretty sure that most of them who do have it locked away somewhere else. This makes it utterly useless. In desperate situations, what really matters is what is currently in your possession. You cannot count on something stored elsewhere. Your safe deposit box is likely inaccessible. Likely it might even have been looted. However, what is actually relevant is that gold by itself has no intrinsic value aside from looking shiny and some limited industrial uses. If this world ever gets into a situation of total economic collapse to the point where fiat currencies are no longer trusted, holding physical gold isn't going to be any better. In a barter economy, what actually matters is useful goods. The most valuable items will be what fulfills our basic needs (food, clothing, and shelter). Gold is pretty much of little value in such a situation. This post has been edited by arubin: Jan 14 2013, 10:48 AM |

QUOTE(terry8 @ Jan 14 2013, 11:40 AM) Maybe this topic will go into the Guiness Book of record for the longest forum topic. At least it may be no 1 in Low Yat Haha, I dunno about that. There are /k topics with longer histories. But I do think that Genneva should go into the record books as the first ponzi scheme in history where the victims remain so dedicated and loyal to the people who scammed them. Malaysia Boleh! |

QUOTE(StockInvestor @ Jan 14 2013, 02:27 PM) Not all the victims remain dedicated to the people who scammed them. It is a fallacy. Haha, I also know not all lar. Just those jokers who hang out in GMS. People like Pat Lu, Shereen, Horace, etc. I am going to leave out Dee Casey because we dunno if this person is real or not. There is no proof that he is, and you cannot ask or you will be kick-banned because they dun like people asking for proof. There are merely attack dogs deployed by the Administrator at GMS Facebook who cow and ban detractors to save their own skins, and the very people they work for - Genneva Management and Directors. Bottom line - you either toe the line of what we are paid to say and save the Directors, or you will be villified, banned and figuratively castrated. To hell with ideas and solutions out of the box - the admin seems hell-bent to place the Directors well-being above all else. Pernicious? Most definitively. I just pity those who seek tangible solutions and are left bereft. A train wreck waiting to happen... |

QUOTE(Akonn @ Jan 14 2013, 02:37 PM) Did some research and indeed Genneva is much bigger than many ponzi schemes in the US like Zeek Rewards etc. This one run in the billions. Trust me, a lot of Malaysians lost huge, substantial sums. It's much, much more serious than we can ever imagine and sometimes joke about here. IT'S REALLY NO JOKE!! (That's why sometimes I comment with so much much anger and frustration at the Directors and scammers here on LYN) That big meh? Billions in MYR is just hundreds of millions in USD wor. We have no confirmed final figure yet. Also, it would be interesting if we could find out how much was lost down in kiasuland. I think if we sum up those figures, we can top a good many ponzi schemes world wide.So the biggest Ponzi Scam in Malaysian history deserves a book, don't you think so?? Any good writers out there??...Terry?? Hard to beat Madoff though...USD65 billion... |

QUOTE(StockInvestor @ Jan 14 2013, 02:51 PM) I would include "Dee Casey" in that lump of defending the Directors to death, much to the detriment of the poor customers. Yes, but I am questioning if there really exists bread to be buttered on after all. Dee claims to be a consultant as well as customer of Genneva, and that he/she has made a police report. However, we have no proof of it. That FB account is relatively new and has only a handful of 'friends', all of whom are related to Genneva. It might be that Dee is merely the alter-ego of a Genneva Director, or someone who is personally working for them. She had the audacity to ask the Committee if they had sought "consent of the GMSB Management of Directors" prior to meeting up BNM. Dee asks for transparency from the Committee, and yet claims that its OK for the Directors to remain silent. Utter hypocrisy and rubbish. Shows clearly which side of her bread is being buttered. The Committee is supposedly working for the customers - not GMSB. Unless, they too, have been bought over by the directors - which in all circumstance is a distinct possibility too. Which is why I question the sanity and rationale behind the idiots who would take up Dee's advice on anything at all. This post has been edited by arubin: Jan 14 2013, 03:38 PM |

Boring lar, their FB page. Less and less active participants. More and more nonsense about sticking together and disregarding opinions that are against what the 'steering commitee' have decided.

QUOTE Gennevarians, the Common Enemy is not BNM the institution but the Little Napolean/Pied Piper of BNM. In a barrel of apples, there are bound to be bad ones. Therefore, it is hoped that BNM purge themselves of their bad apple(s) to redeem their reputation as a supposedly upright institution. Now is their chance. Release Genneva Malaysia Sdn Bhd so that the company can resume business and continue taking care of its customers. And now the latest article from GMS claims that they do not regard BNM as the enemy but the 'little Napoleans' within, specifically Mazlan Ahmad. Now I don't think much of that fellow myself but its pretty obvious here that he is merely doing his job. Its almost as if they are trying to offer BNM a way out (not like its even asked for or needed) by sacrificing him. That is just downright low and despicable. |

QUOTE(Selectt @ Jan 15 2013, 04:01 PM) I believe Donald Lim has mentioned in the chinese papers that the full accounting report should be available by the end of this month. How accurate that is, I do not know since it has only appeared in chinese papers and is parroted by The Edge.BNM also playing the silent game, like the Genneva Directors. Difference is BNM keep silent, GMS rages. Genneva Directors keep silent, its a wise strategy. |

Btw, does anyone know what happen to Pat Lu's partner on the BFM radio interview? I believe his name was Al Jazzura Khan. Not a peep from him on GMS (unless he has a pseudonym) and that is pretty unusual for someone who was once the group's spokesperson.

No sympathy from me. Who the heck dumps their entire savings into a single investment? That they would choose to do so is because they were greedy, plain and simple. They allowed a 2% monthly return to override their common sense.
Besides, no proof = didn't happen, and GMS admin bans anyone asking for proof. |

Whoa, anyone seen the latest post by Dee Casey?
QUOTE Yesterday we have got a prominent legal firm to coordinate our attack against BNM along the lines of JR. From the discussion we had with the lead counsel, the indications are that we had all along been moving in the right direction. ...prominent legal firm? This would be interesting to see... |

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Jan 21 2013, 12:04 PM) //imitate GMSB Also, for those customers that don't have their gold yet, it is BNM's fault because they instructed the banks to limit supply of gold to Genneva. This is not scamming others. Genneva Gold just selling gold. People still get their gold eventhough Genneva gold lose money. Nothing wrong mah. Why do we still insist on selling gold despite not having any in hand to deliver? Our customers want heebah mar. We always meet our obligations. |

QUOTE(Akonn @ Jan 21 2013, 09:47 PM) GENNEVA THEATRICS Its Krishnamoorthy Muthaly too. I have to wonder about this fella. Anyway, it will be funny to see kavadi in front of BNM when the place is closed on weekends and public holidays. You need an audience if you want to protest else it would be like a bear shitting in the woods. We know it happened, but no one cares. My, my what drama this year will be. Krishnamoorthy Muthaly Genneva Kavadi carriers to stage Vel Vel dance in front of Bank Negara for Thaipusam Bank Negara is going to make to the news on Thaipusam Day. A few Genneva consultants who met at a Temple in KL today bitterly discussed that all their savings was in Gold and had not received their gold and money as Bank Negara had seized their gold. As this year was going to be a bad year without their wealth of gold with them they are hoping to make a vow to Lord Muruga help them get their gold and saings. Therefore, they are planning to stage kavadi carriers in front of Bank Negara. It is traditional for Hindus to make vows on Thaipusam day so that their vows are fulfilled. Gold donation in the form of chains and rings is another traditional vow they make to the temple for Thaipusam.[ |

QUOTE Pat Lu Not surprised Genneva will be the trigger to escalate the demise of BN coz Gennevarians are hurt and let down by BN directly through this BNM fiasco first hand. Different from merely reading about some scandals or corruption in the papers. My heart goes out to the Genneva Family members I know personally who are sick and in dire straits. Wahliao leh. Like that also they want to take credit, can we blame Genneva if BN wins again next election? Their multipliers are incredible. They are claiming 60k customers x 5 as the average family size. I thought your son still going to college, Pat. Is he of voting age yet? This is like watching the world's worst poker player in action. Hand very weak, yet still want to bluff like holding royal flush. QUOTE Shereen Lim BARISAN NASIONAL – TENSION IS BREWING I hear this all the time, but I have yet to see any proof beyond you people claiming that this is so.BLOOD OF GENNEVARIANS (MALAYS, CHINESE, INDIANS ETC) ARE IN YOUR HAND MCA *talk cock sing song* The Syariah experts (approved by BNM) had declared all contracts and documents are legal and in proper order. My underpants are Syariah compliant. It was approved by a bunch of people who have the authority to do so, because I say they can. Who wants to invest in my boxers? I also offer heebah; ie. I go take a dump in your toilet once a month. Discretionary, of course. Subject to fiber intake. Don't worry, I like my veggies. |
