QUOTE(Akonn @ Mar 27 2013, 08:06 PM)
According to NST, "They were arrested to facilitate investigations under Section 17 (a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission act 2009 over alleged bribery to a bank negara officer as an inducement not to take action against the company."
http://www.nst.com.my/latest/magistrate-s-...-order-1.238481

Anyway, someone said that the Sikh lawyer in the pic is none other than GMSB's lawyer, Hargopal Singh. So by elementary deduction through identification by association, the directors in lokap T-shirts must be the infamous Genneva directors/GM. Anyway I can identify only the first guy ie Tan LK, because of his typical Chinaman looks.

Y'know, I thought that was him too but than I also recall a photo of him being out and about...

Rather quiet on the GMS front, but there's this little gem here from GG.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Let me clarify the picture even further.

Your sister actually borrowed money from thousands of individuals. When comes time to return the money, she calls each individual in separately, shows them a pile of money that she says belongs to them, and claims that she will bank it in for them tomorrow. Before she can do so, the Ah Long sweeps in and takes all the money.

I suppose the Ah Long can be faulted for the amount that was taken by them, but who is accountable for the rest?

BOOM! Headshot!

I can't type Chinese but do you guys remember who that person is? The one who posted about consulting a lawyer? A few months back, she's the one who posted about wanting to go to BNM to get some answers and asked if any of the admins at GMS were able to follow her as backup. She was the one who actually wanted to do something while everyone else just raged at BNM without actually acting.

IIRC, nobody actually offered to assist her and they mostly raged at her as well instead. Only Andrew said that he will go but he also backed out last minute so she ended up going alone with her father.

Now it turns out she has actually consulted a lawyer as well for 3rd party claims. Good for her. Nice to see some customers taking matters into their own hands instead of being mindless sheep.

You guys seen the latest update on GMS? Apparently, they are still pursuing the JR...supposedly...as in there's going to be a private briefing only for those who have paid up. rolleyes.gif

I figured as much the moment Auntie Shereen & co went silent. Ah well, it was starting to get boring anyway with no new updates from BNM.

And look what just happened to the price of gold. Whoops. So much for it being a 'safe' investment.

Of course, if Genneva was still operational, they would have claimed no problems whatsoever because of their super-secret blue ocean strategy that would no doubt have foreseen the drop and even allowed them to make money by short-selling when it happened.

On the other hand, now is a very good time to go into the market...

Ah, so DC is a paid shill. Suspected as much. I'm also willing to bet that DC and Savana Sim (remember that name?) are one and the same. Very similar writing styles...

Anyway, I have zero sympathy for anyone who fell for Dee Casey's little plot. None whatsoever. I can still understand why people fell for Genneva's original scheme considering it was promoted to them by people they thought they could trust like relatives or friends. Dee Casey is some faceless person online. What sort of idiot would put their trust in someone they don't know?

Every single person who signed up and paid for the JR are morons, like all those suckers who fall for those e-mail Nigerian scams.

Zzz...no news or updates on the GMS side, but a certain Edward Chan over at the Disgruntled page says he saw Pat Lu over at BU Centerpoint loudly complaining about the government and blaming them for everything that happened. Hilarious, considering that Pat herself was once an active member of Gerakan.

I heard that the Help Desk is already disbanded.

To each his/her own now.

Also heard that Gold Beam charged a rental fee for the Help Desk space.

Bloody greedy sods! Guess it will be deducted from the RM100K to Dee Casey and cronies.

Lol you are being quoted directly on the Disgruntled page. The GMS page is deader than a doornail. Well, there are 1 or 2 stray anti-BN posts that are still being put up by some who still can't accept that they might have been duped.

Didn't someone want to write a book?

Ho, StockInvestor's updates are about the only news we get about Genneva these days. Not sure what your sources are but thanks for sharing anyway.

Looks like DC has a bonus payday. Hope she remembers to declare it for taxes next year. laugh.gif

BNM is not anti-Chinese btw. Lots of high-ranking Chinese staff in there last I looked. Not as much as CIMB but I would say its more than the average GLC or Maybank.

Andy Lim If you came for the April updates you should know we need more witnesses,& more customers involved in it ,without which everybody waits, fulfill the 2 help desk will have the initiative & funds to move forward. Participants are lucky the lawyers haven't demanded any upfront money yet. That's the reason help desk, wants more involved we need 3X the amount collected. Now, do YOUR part to fulfill the above needs. That's what actually happened.

3X the amount lol. 100k not enough, they want 300k. rclxm9.gif

From Raj Sami to Ez Dola to Brite Alvin.

Can't this Raj Sami stick to his original ID?

Check out his profile pic even. A smiley face with $ for its eyes? What's he playing at?

From the updates so far on GMS, its almost as if the directors were using GMS to dupe their customers into footing the legal bill for their own defense (as in the directors lol).

Something is fishy here. Not that I want to imply anything here, but I wonder if there was a background check down to ensure that the judge and the prosecutors are not involved in the case somehow.

The charge was for money laundering and deposit taking.  Of course, acquitted.  They were not charged for running a ponzi.
*
That makes sense. Madoff wasn't guilty of either of those either. Neither was the original Charles Ponzi.

Looks like they are not off the hook just yet. nod.gif

Guys, the following is a serious proposal. Please PM me if you are interested

I will be starting a gold trading company based on Genneva model. As it is already proven by the court, the issue of illegality is out of the question.

1. Name of company : Zurich Gold Sdn Bhd (another city in Switzerland)

*
Nonono. That won't do. You need to add an extra letter.

Zurrich Gold Sdn Bhd.

That's the ticket. laugh.gif

These GMS folks are unbelievable. Just because of this one verdict, Andy Lim has declared that Malaysian courts have been proven to be impartial. rolleyes.gif

Myself, I am wondering about the judge in question. While I wasn't present at the case, I don't think any judge should have so confidently stated that Genneva is a legitimate gold trading business. Perhaps the prosecutors might have failed to prove their case when it comes to money laundering and deposit taking but a judge just can't make such a declaration outright. Its irresponsible.

Dunno, it all depends on the appeal. Hopefully, the prosecution doesn't mess up again.

Besides, the charge of money laundering is rather flimsy. While I don't have any details or insider info, I would guess that there is very little need to resort to something so blatantly illegal when their little scheme was already raking in millions as it is in a supposedly legitimate fashion. Therefore, I have always been surprised that there was even such a charge in the first place.

Deposit taking, on the other hand, is a different matter altogether. Its just a matter of proving it.

Sigh...genuine gold trading. Seriously, who are they trying to kid? I would have expected a judge or a lawyer to know better.

Directors acquitted yet customers are still ignored. I noticed that this particular bit of news has not made it onto GMS yet. Only supportive news, nothing negative allowed at all. whistling.gif

Looks like stuff is happening again after such a long break.

Anyone seen the memo on the GMS page about Genneva no longer being a member of GBeam? Such drama... laugh.gif

But wait, isn't Joseph Kow (I refuse to acknowledge him as a Dato, who knows where he got that title from rolleyes.gif ) the regional director of Genneva? hmm.gif
