it's not about the panel lines, there isn't many panel lines on Banshee to begin with
what I mean is the shape of the Gundam itself, with pure black you can't really notice the blocky shape of it, it'll look really flat

most uses acrylic as it is easy to paint, easy to obtain, and less harmful
enamel is harder to dry, safest is to let it dry for half a day, while acrylic dries within minutes
I personally prefer lacquer as it is tough and highly scratch resistant
