I need profile setting, fast internet surfing, downloadable n file transferable fr hp to pc, bluetooth file transfer n gps. The rest is bonus. I dun like iphone coz small screen. Gs3 too big. Lumia920 ngam2 fit my hand.
IE surfing is fast, but it is not easy to download files and transfer from hp to pc.
So hows about dialer? Iphone is superb, android is laggy (so bad). Tis is one point i dun like android... since yesterday i read 1 by 1 page of tis thread. Percent to get lumia now 80%. Exfan nokia comin back.
Make sure you get your hand on with the demo units before purchasing. Yesterday I went to Lowyat and tried all the lumia devices, also HTC 8X, really impressive.
it seems that i have found more prob on my l920... during taking dark picture i have found white dots in the picture.... its not visable while on the camera screen.. only on the product of the image... i want to know if ypu think its related to software... might the portico update fix it?[attachmentid=3285532]
Do the white spots appear on every dark photo you take? Are they always at the same exact location of the photo?
so nokia has invited the press to their opening day conference at MWC. rumours are fuelling that they will AT LEAST unveil a new flagship phone with the proper pureview technology.
OIS, lossless zoom, stereo HAAC, 38MP...
drool.....
Which also means that the flagship will not be with 1080p HD display.
Here is a good news for every WP user, especially those who highly dependent on gmail, Google extended WP support of exchange active sync to July 31st.
1080p is purely gimmick, my TV at home 50' also 1080p, most windows 7 laptops are only 1366 X 768... But nowadays people only look at specs, as i call them specwhores... Any screen size smaller than 5' no need 1080p, i doubt your eyes can make a difference either - it's only slightly obvious when you use a 1080p screen and 720p screen to play a 480p video, where 480p is obviously a lot more blur on the 1080p screen. First world problems... asking for 440+ ppi on smartphone screens when it's never possible to achieve this on a TV or a monitor which they didnt complain...
I very much agree about this, I don't think people can differentiate the differences between 720 and 1080, on a phone. But since today's trend is like that, WP has to follow, else we won't be seeing any windows phone phablet.

8,5 i think; windows 7.X lasted 2 years, 8.X also the same i think, only in 2014, around Oct we see WP9
Or think in another way, they might drop the numbering naming scheme (Rumour Windows Blue?)
My Lumia 920 suddenly rebooted itself and got stuck at the Nokia logo yesterday. Felt enough was enough. Went out and bought an Android (Xperia TX). Need a reliable phone until Nokia or Microsoft fixes all the problems.
lol so hardcore
I believe this is more like a 920 problem. Most people complain random reboot problem on 920. Seldom see that on HTC or 820.
I tell u, fark the americans. I never liked them, they want everything to go to them first. Nokia used to launch their devices and updates pretty early in Asia and India, that is where their strength is. Since everything about america - websites, anal-ysts, bla bla talk trash about nokia all the time, Elop decided to concentrate their product launch in USA first. They are the first to get the portico and windows 7.8 updates, and they were also the first to get the Lumia 820 and 920 in early November. It was the only way to save the company, apparently. Blackberry's new devices didnt launch on Verizon first - UK got it the day after they revealed the new BB10 handsets, and you can see the americans cursing them. They think they are always the first to deserve anything new.
I have no idea why they cant launch the updates worldwide though - Nokia ahs always launched both hardware and softwares region by region, never all at once, from what my experience told me.
But why do you expect? Considering they're all america companies. Apple, BB, Google, MS etc, I'm really not surprised
Blackberry is Canadian, not American. I have read in some comment section in engadget before, the guys complain why this and that doesnt come to USA first. Yea, right, Americans always think they deserve everything, and you show them the something like a RM 500 smartphone they tell you "garbage like this shouldnt exist". That's the problem, they are very ego, i never liked them. I might be stereotyping them, but i think at least the tech geeks are like that.
Ya right I was wrong, BB(RIM) is from Canada, just like bieber
Personally i dont see Nokia will ever drop windows phone, but, you know, when they start earning $$ consistently they might grab the Jolla team back with the sailfish/meego OS. Personally, i thought, since belle could only support up to 640 x 360 it should have been used in cheap asha devices, the S40 should just run the nokia 3310-style T9 input button dumbphones. There is no need to develop the OS, just use it over and over again the in Ashas.
Anyway, even many ppl criticized Elop, i think it's because of his radical actions and decisions Nokia has a profit 4th quarter. He did a good job, but Nokia is at Microsoft's mercy when it comes to how fast the OS can improve. I see Samsung as the number 1 all time, no one can replace them. They are the jack of all trades - they make everything from internal parts to all kinds of devices and electronics, they have the resource and infrastructure. The only possible way that Samsung will all from number 1 is North Korea drop a nuke on the south...
I read through the performance report of Nokia in Q4 2012, the main reason they are making profit is from Nokia Siemen, not really from the sales of Lumia, although Lumia is picking up also.

LOL how is Bieber related to this topic... Even as a guy I dont hate him or his music though, all the irrational hates on him, i guess that's what you get when you get too popular.
Just saying. lol Because when I typed BB it reminded me of BieBer which is also from canada
A safe guess is notification center update is coming.

possibly also for the WP8 of the upcoming 41MP lumia.
http://pocketnow.com/2013/02/05/windows-ph...fication-center " Looks like a big false alarm. Le has taken to his Twitter account to deny that a notification center was what he was teasing. That’s not saying that such a thing isn’t in the works at Microsoft, but that it’s simply not what Le was hinting at here.
He has also posted a new disclaimer over on Deviant Art, explaining, “This picture is no mean of confirmation for anything, i heard some stuffs by the time i was at Redmond. This picture is more like a picture of a fan to show how dedicated the lads at Microsoft are for the platform…”"
Unfortunately it looks like it's just another false alarm...
Nah when i was using symbian it was lagging like hell especially when using Nokia N8. When it started belle it was alright.
I hardly play game on my nokia phone because its laggy and the games are below average.
Just ask yourself if single core is so good why did nokia let meego to die? Nokia adopt windows phone now is worse most things are control by microsoft.
Why is android laggy? because its real time multitasking like Nokia N9 running single core.
Lets come back to windows phone why do you think it does not lag.
No.1 its not real time multitasking No.2 Its only tiles if tiles can lag can throw it away di No.3 Limited functions
Honestly android have chased up already now phones like nexus 4, Note 2, S3 do not lag anymore while it have real time multitasking like symbian. Thats is from my observation.
Nokia let meego die, I think most probably is meego got no real future, in long term. Only Nokia was using Meego(I heard LG canceled their meego phone). No developers are willing to develop apps just for one company.
It's not just about multitasking, the phone still feel lags even no background apps is running. The problem is how it coded. So inefficient. The apps coded in java, which is very inefficient, require more horsepower to do things. But a great advantage for this is the apps can run in x86 and ARM architecture without major port. Therefore Intel Android phone doesn't have this app compatibility issue.
Yea just imagine if meego single core is as smooth as any quad core just imagine its running quad core meego it will pawn every single phone in the market and if they have focus all on apps today Nokia is still big and as par as android and iOS.
I have heard of the intel architecture lets hope nokia able to survive until it comes. Even the windows 8 sux i got the serial key and suppose to activate before 31 jan 2013 but end up i just let it go because it design so badly to do a simple task on a desktop i need to do additional 4 to 5 steps.
I staying with windows 7 because windows 8 is designed for tablet not desktop.
I very much agree with you about the Win8. I (unashamedly) call myself as a PC power user. The major issue I encounter with Win8 is multitasking. With metro, multitasking sucks. At most 2 apps can be displayed at a time. I hope they will implant some resizeable application interface, so that I can monitor multiple apps at a time, like the video shown below(Note 10.1).
I believe MS is planning to remove desktop one day. Which is really sad, for power users.
All MS has to do is to provide OPTION! Let us have the option to COMPLETELY turn off Metro interface!
say, if we install a limited time free game, wut would happned if we re install it if we format our phone? is it still free? and have anyone having proble with the proximity sensor during making calls? my screen tends to black our even without putting it near to my ear...
No it's not defect, but your screen protector is blocking the proximity sensor. Try removing it and check again.
