They got it working by using direct IP method, the default Rooter will keep dial 753s

USe 760S method, since both device work the same
*
Ok, direct IP method is it USB tethering? If yes, then need install additional...will try again

http://wiki.openwrt.org/doc/howto/usb.tethering

What do u mean by 760S method? hmm.gif

serious ar?
port forwarding doesn't work?

mine too...no wonder no matter how many times i try also cannot?
must try D-Link brand liao
*
I guess port forwarding don't work just because of the assigned dynamic private IP address. I guess most mobile internet is NATed unless you request it.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Well,
As most game server website need to have port forwarding,

here is the funny thing,

Same Mobile Internet SIM using Alcatel X080C can connect directy and play online
where as using E398 Huawei directly cannot
Using this MR3420 also cannot, even though i have done setting on port forwarding. DMZ , Mac Address and Static IP also refuse to work

And the BEST part is ,
i accidently discovered that by connecting the WAN port of MR3420 to Ethernet port of my PC and connecting the E398 thru PC USB port.

Now i have no problem playing online.

Why?  rclxub.gif

Look like my router which connect directly to PC have become a "SERVER Station"

doh.gif
*
Then where is your PPP dialing??? rclxub.gif rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Since connected to USB port,
Just dial as per normal

In my case,
Using MDMA dialing, no more dialing thru MR3420 router.

But i really give 5 stars for E398 which i got from blacktubi, the antenna really keng as what digilife pointed out.
No regrets buying it
But if can use the router, lagi better, signal lagi more power!

notworthy.gif

But now i choose to connect this way so that i can play online game.

My MR3420 becoming "pink" elephant!
shocking.gif

So is your connect like below: -

MR3420 -- PC -- E398

U play the game in PC above? Or other PC/notebook connect to LAN port of MR3420 or wireless? Hmm...

MR3420 WAN port ------- PC Ethernet Port while E398 -------- PC USB port

OK like this

E398 connect to USB PC port, dial in---connected-----surfing/downloading no problem but play game online got NAT port blocked

E398 connect on MR3420 USB port, dial thru router itself---connected====surfing/downloading no problem but STILL cannot play online game....despite set correctly port forwarding/MAC Address?DMZ and Setup Static IP as well.
(((( MR 3420 LAN port (got 4 LAN port) connect to PC Ethernet ))))

NOW,
LAN cable at MR 3420 change to WAN port of MR 3420 itself
THEN,
Connect E398 to PC USB modem----dial----connected

PRESTO!!!!
Can play online game  rclxub.gif
*
This one below: -

NOW,
LAN cable at MR 3420 change to WAN port of MR 3420 itself
THEN,
Connect E398 to PC USB modem----dial----connected

Is it PC USB and not PC USB modem. Confusing...never heard of PC USB modem.

But u still havent answer, where u play the online game? At the PC itself? Why not u try switch off the MR3420 becoz I see it doesn't do anything.

Thank you.

Wanna ask you something since your network is setup like this:
MR3420 (WAN)-----PC-----USB modem

Do you need to do any extra network settings on your PC for MR3420 WAN connection? As simple as plug&play?

That is my same question too. hmm.gif hmm.gif

The Oz got 760S working via USB tethering.
Read this (Filter for 760S keyword), no need for more modification.
Rooter have the required package installed.

760S for for 753S too

Still no luck with Sierra Wireless 753S but once I plug in my Galaxy SII and USB tethering works automatically.

Yes I did plug in my SII. I want to test the USB tethering in ROOter. Just want to make sure no additional software need to install.

But now my Sierra Wireless 753S doesn't work on 1043ND USB tethering. hmm.gif
