We propose to shortly implement a new code change which will result in posts made by a thread starter not bump a thread up the index.  Posts by other users will  continue to bring a thread up the index.

The decision to implement this change has been made to address the volume of reports on members 'indirectly bumping' threads.  It also acknowledges that there may be circumstances whereby members may wish to post a 'PM replied' or 'thanks' in response to a query or complement on a thread.

Once this change has been implemented, we will cease enforcing the prohibition on indirect bumps.  We will however continue to take action against people who spam.  While spamming would not bring a thread up the index, it is a waste of server space and is annoying.  We will also double our efforts in finding and stopping traders who use duplicate accounts to imitate sales.
