Aiya, HDMI cable very cheap only   Btw, you don't need to buy expensive HDMI cable. Video quality is not impact (unlike analog cable where good material can get you better signal), it either work or don't work

Thanks for the recommendations. Can I get another recommendation for another purpose?

1. Preferred Brand: any brand, any type of laptop
2. Budget: 4k
3. Usage: Office work and large amounts of data
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 13
5. Others: Since it's for large amounts of data, I guess a minimum 1 TB is required. Also, VGA + HDMI + 3 USBs + SD Card

Pretty late in the game changing game plan   
Unless you are seriously strong, 17" will break your back sooner or later, carrying it to and fro school daily
M17 and RS17 weight more than 4kg
Also, unless you can plug into electric supply at school, all these gaming laptops won't give you long battery performance. But at least 14/15" last slightly longer than 17"

A business notebook seemed suitable for the task, though 1TB is very rare in these notebooks

The specs are quite nice. How is it when compared to the Asus S400CA? It's lighter and has a larger memory + optical drive. Though I don't see any VGA.

How are Toshiba laptops anyway?

The S400Ca is not exactly a business notebook (business notebooks are built with reliability in mind, hence the higher price) haha And its 14" in size, with touchscreen~
I'm not too sure but the R930 reviews on the internet showed that there is a VGA port, like in its predecessor R830

Toshiba notebooks are generally reliable, particularly so for business ones.. The POrtege series come with 3 years international warranty some more~

There 14" Toshiba Tecra R940 that you can consider as well if you prefer a 14" notebook...

What other laptops are comparable to the R930? lightweight, HDMI, VGA. Doesn't have to have a large memory space though. anything above 250gb should be ok

Don't think so... the R930 is the lightest of its class (ultra light weight with a normal processor)..
As mentioned in the earlier post, if you are looking for a 14" model, then can consider the Tecra R940 (but its a lot heavier)

Yup, it is sufficient, but try not to expect too much from it since its a budget notebook after all
