ehehheheheheh
four moon phases
Waxing - when the moon is growing, or getting bigger
Waning - when the moon is getting smaller
Crescent - when the moon is less than half
Gibbous - when the moon is more than half

Eg
if the moon is ... growing ... try fishing the outgoing tide/low tide/tide is going out
when the moon is ... getting smaller then try fishing the incoming tide/high tide/tide is coming in
When the moon is less than half or more than half ... fish when the moon is at 10 -12- 2 or 2 -12- 10 o’clock position in the sky
full moon ... fish on the incoming tide and ... deeper water
New Moon ... fish the out going tide and ... shallower waters.
Tip - the moon could be in these positions on the other side of the world you don’t need to actually see the moon as long as you know the positions at any given time.

worth a try eh? smile.gif
if have barometer, even better wink.gif

less stress all around for both ...
circle hooks work by usually hooking the mouth corners as the fish swims off after taking the bait
once it's hooked, you need only hang on to the rod .. then pump and reel as you'd normally do
remember not to set or you'll lose the fish
last trip, i forgot i was using circle hooks and lost two big fish sad.gif
whereas, my boatmate who helped catch my rod, just hung on and landed the fish ... lololol

these are eging reels ... expensive, too ... might no longer be in production
had a friend who sold his for less than rm500 ... uwaaaaaa ... i had no $$$
extreme anglers had a 2nd hand unit on display ... not sure whether still there or not

fau,
it's more of letting your rod shake, bend, the bells ring, take up the rod and have fun smile.gif
many of us auto strike when we pick up the rod, in this case .. no need
because if we do, we're pulling the hook out of the fish's mouth
all we do is hang on, then pump and reel pump and reel ... no need to strike

yeah 1dollar bro ... last i saw it, it carried a sticker price in that range
go go make money ... heheheheh
not a bad deal for a T3 that ... i add on RM100+ can get me 1 daiwa coastal 2500 with spare spool + 1 okuma VS15 and 1 okuma VS20 hehehhehehe ... opportunity cost + personal pref i guess

katsu bro, that ultegra is msian made if i'm not mistaken ... hence the cheaper price compared with a MIJ version which can be around 600
the ABU Neo is good price if good condition
get the best of both worlds, buy both ! LOLOLOLOLOL

I just got some 3/0 (Starlit, cheap brand) and 5/0 (Owner) circle hooks today. I tried my best to avoid Gamakatsu.

Youtube still got a lot video about circle hooks.

Hopefully I rmb not to strike the rod but reel in.

exactly wot he said ... thumbup.gif

SiC (silicon carbide) will hold up the best under a braid's abrasion. Stainless steel guides will get grooves cut in them within a year if the rod is used heavily. Regular ceramic guides will last for a while but not as long as the SiC.
A tungsten carbide tip will prevent a lot of wear to the tip. Works for guides also but are heavier and not so much in use nowadays but they can still be found. And tungsten is very brittle and can break if you drop your rod.
Even mono will cut into a SS guide given time. And really not all that much time at that.
But if you go out only once or twice a month, whatever guides you have should last for a few years at least.

bro, u really seen braided line cut into guides b4 ar? just curious... cos i've never seen such "phenomenon" happen to my gudes b4 even on my cheap rods... but there's once 2 guides broke before on my cheapo shakespear titanium which has seen more than 2 years of continous use of braided line.... but other guides don't have any signs of wear at all la.... maybe cos i didn't kena many monsters b4 la tongue.gif  tongue.gif  tongue.gif
*
it's been known to happen but have yet to see it in person
usually those big fish runs (and huge multiplier smoking) episodes rclxm9.gif

gold cermet remain reputedly the best but they cost
not really worth it for the majority of us
SiC have been known to heat up but gold cermet remained relatively cool even when line was pulled across them at high speed

Common prob with T3 due to the low level wind on the reel. When fighting big fishes your braided line will cut into the Zaion body.
