this week by what day ????
this friday got game you going ????
although the water is bad , if you use correct bait you can land damn alot of fish ....

dedak = rohu (dont throw far , near coastline enough like 4 meter in front of you)
bread + sos = patin / tongsan (deeper water around ceter of the pond)
earth worm = confirm can get pacu ( near the water pump machine at the back )
that day i go manage to land 6 fish , 3 rohu , 2 pacu and 1 patin .

the patin is 3.5kg sold back get rm 3 , other i sell to the foreign work nearby get rm 15

this week by saturday, friday saturday nite kenot use my ticket, so left wednesday and thursday, most prob will go 2molo night. wat time u went the other day?

Yeah my CHornarch 51e is the Pearl white model.

According to Ah Hon,.. when its season,.. you can get those larger ones rather than the Juvis. Forgot which month he mentioned, some where near Pulau Angsa.

my penang trip cancelled, so we went for rumah rakit in teluk gong instead..catch was very poor although the "house" was quite nice, for RM30 to fish overnight, that's still worth it. here are some pics:
Attached Image
first 2 pics are of the same fish, but dunno wat fish

this 1 looks like ibu gelama a bit, cant really recall the name, very very very tasty fish, meat is so soft i'll put the softness as on par with ikan sebelah rclxms.gif

ok, last 2 pics need ur guys' help here, what on earth is this? looks like grouper a bit but its not, have a look at the head, got tanduk wan lehh...also got small sharp teeth, u just cant prick open its mouth, even with pliers, damn stubborn. in the end i just cut the line and throw back. and the body is very sticky

i remember seeing in restaurant, around RM300 or so per kg or per fish, usually they're small in size. just did a google search, they're considered one of the most venomous fish in the world, its poison can kill. luckily never kena sweat.gif

buying rod and reel, it's all about budget brows.gif i'm helping my friend to pick up 2 rods and reels, looking at say decent-cheaper ones, and we're talking about 500-600 at least, including other accessories. i started off with damn cheap tomman reel and xpuyu rod, cost me less than 100

tackle prices have been rising ....

graphite rods are light and strong .. within recommended limits
they anything from rm100+ to the thousands
something in the rm100+ to rm200+ is good enough

ABU, daiwa and shimanos reels are reliable and they carry certain workhorse models worth the money
banax has good reels for the money, too, but they weight slightly more
rm270, rm300+ to rm400+ will serve you well

this is excluding terminal tackle such as lines, hooks, etc

i wanna add ryobi in the range, my gf recently bought ryobi krieger, light and smooth, i find it slightly better than arctica

Krieger is quite good but people always complaint about the handle. If you're not so lucky you'll then get to know why.

can rent at the fishing place but i suggest you buy your own
because the condition of the rent fishing gear is abit run down

and

for a beginner set should cost around rm100-200
if you want i can bring point you where to buy at PJ
krieger is abit expansive for a beginner ?????
how much your gf bought ?
*
RM198 kepong tackle, if you have the budget, might as well

i say get the rod first if you really want it (try bargaining)
reel can come later
or use an existing BC reel on it for the time being lor

i like its looks but the ACS trigger kinda gets in the way sometimes
*
and so we're back in self-poisoning again..hehehe
btw what is ACS trigger? i'm looking at spinning, btw
