QUOTE(hamstrex @ May 11 2013, 12:53 AM) Below that price point, you may also consider the go.emotion series from major craft. Blank is pretty solid. The only drawback is that the guide count is at the minimal, styling like winding check, aluminium bits are non existence. |

QUOTE(hamstrex @ May 11 2013, 10:42 AM) i was thinking of having a rod first.. then slowly add reel into it.... cuz i dont want to regret for getting a wrong reel firstly, you need to know what's the usual lure weight that you want to throw with it.is there any effect on the lure oz rating?? lets say i cast a lure below the rated or above the rated value.. will do anything bad to the rod or reel?? from experience, baitcasting outfit shines when throwing bigger baits. the lighter the lure you want to throw using baitcasting, the more you have to fork out for equipment. bait/lure weight below 4.5g is best to use spinning set. if you cast a lure below the rated value, then you won't get distance. this is because the lure is not heavy enough to 'load' up the rod during cast. if a lure is above the rated value, then the chances of breaking the tip of the rod goes up. some rods are durable enough to do this, but not all rods are made equal. |

QUOTE(Garager @ May 15 2013, 10:51 PM) after practice for few days, now able to do overhead cast(with looser spool and brake 5) a 9.5g storm basho frog with 80% no bihun rate(even got is small plate),80% accuracy, about 20-25m distance(not too sure,agak2) that's great! good effort!but still cant feather brake.only able to stop the spool at the ending of lure drop.thumb still stiff and gan cheong. what I usually does is, do my cast, and just let the brakes do everything else. thumb when the lure hits the water to prevent spool overrun. distance wise, might lose to the experienced thumb, but it's a fair trade-off. |

lip of the reel if i'm not mistaken.
further more, the flap looks flimsy as well. i guess it's still ok for bass fishing. don't know how good it will hold up against those monsters in exotic or some wild mama toman... |

QUOTE(acheong7 @ May 25 2013, 06:20 PM) i'd say design flaw ... putting on a metal cover is just a bandage solution the t-wing technology is good. i buy the whole idea but imho, it has a inherent design flaw, which is the metal bar that presses the line down to the bottom of the T during retrieve. fighting small fish wouldn't put that much stress on the mechanism, but i guess that's why the drag rating is not any higher.zaion is just daiwa's proprietary name for its own carbon/plastic material like Ci4 is for shimano granted, that happens when we retrieve while pressing down on line however, some local anglers shared that also happens when fighting fish ie, line is too close to the lip ie design flaw (for me) .. daiwa, in their focus on the t-wing lost sight of the overall ... i could be wrong the tatula looks like an improvement ... only time will tell |
