I was asking something more towards the current lining which is the Sony Xperia smartphones.. i feel the older models are irrelevant..
See, I've heard a lot of complaints about battery issues, heating, etc etc.  sweat.gif considering xperia sl over lumia 620 but i kinda have a few doubts.
*
if u r saying battery issues so far none
unless u r talking abt the battery is not users accessible

heating so far is quite ok, can go up to 40 degree Celsius,
with gaming n 3g at the same time, it is normal in android device

windows phone does run cooler most of the time with 3g

ZL non waterproof hence no port cover, Z waterproof hence port cover
slightly bigger battery on ZL, ZL come with pressure sensor & IR remote

Same I hate the flap too. Not about it coming off and can't attached it but it is a hassle I do not like. I am not sold on the IP57 but the design is still very good.

The 5" screen is actually smaller than Galaxy S3's 4.8" screen when you're playing games and browsing website. This is because of the soft buttons below taking up some screen space.

And the Xperia Z actually has almost the same size as Galaxy S3, only 2.4mm taller and 0.4mm wider.
The Xperia ZL is smaller compared to Galaxy S3. (5mm shorter, 0.3mm narrower)
*
higher resolution and higher ppi, able 2 display more things whn web browsing
beside if you think the display button is taking up space

get a app that hide those button, n only display it whn needed

CM10 come with tat function able 2 turn off display button temporary

I'm only here to tell people about the actual phone size because from what I see over the internet, some people seems to have the impression that the 5" screen phone is very big.

Xperia Z and ZL has no capacitive or hardware buttons in front, and the screen border on each side is narrower than Galaxy S3.

I'm comparing it to Galaxy S3 because it's one of the popular phone. If compare to iPhone, no need to say lol. Everybody knows iPhone is way smaller.

And thanks for telling me about the app. Do we need to root the phone for the apps to work? Can I have the app's name?
*
i think most of the ppl on the web meant 5" is too big for 1 hand use
not the wow it is a 5", i love it laugh.gif

there r still many of these app avaliable in play store,
one of the example, yes need root access

they are also worried about whether it will fit in their pocket or not laugh.gif
But I've tested Galaxy S3 before (not mine), there's no problem with 1 hand for me, so I guess Xperia Z / ZL is no problem for me too. (I have a giant hand lol)

Aiks, need root, I guess I won't be bothered by it. I like my phone original. icon_rolleyes.gif
*
maybe ur hand too big, i got s3 totally too big 4 me 2 operate it using 1 hand
4.3" even the xperia S, sometime will be a little hard 2 do so

who gives a shit about one hand two hand...if you are making a call you can still one hand everything. and for browsing, two hands is more efficient all the way unless you are fapping with your other hand...aka iphone users...or maybe when iphone 6 comes out with a 4.6" and they will start telling you it is the perfect size.
*
smaller easier 2 use lar, but with capacitative screen very hard 2 type whn not looking also
miss those old nokia, motorola, n SE, i can type the sms even whn i'm not looking at the phone thumbup.gif

I never two hand operate my S3. It wasn't that  need two hand.

5" is just right  and still awesome in one hand use. Even note2 5.5" still can one hand operate but not  comfortable.

So for comfortability,  5" is the best and nice.
*
viewing experience good lar, but if one 1 feel not natural nod.gif
speaking of size, i miss those old phone, those i can type sms even without looking laugh.gif
