I don't think it works that way... Still have to use Unifi modem. Just get a router.

hi Asusmy,

yeap, to late when get to know that router dont have usb ..
wanted to make external drive connected to router so it would be act as home storage

any idea ? since the original unifi router believe has usb port..
*
Dude, you should have researched on the hardware specs first before purchase. Also, the usb slot on default Unifi router is for diagnosis only.. Can't be used for data storage.

well, its too late..

any idea on economical router that support it ? i mean the external drive

Sadly it is... Well, in addition to the already suggested RT-AC55UHP (More range), take a look at the cheaper RT-N18U model.

Hi sEabrEEzE,

Only the default admin are the only user can log in to the Download Master.

Yes, by enabling it, you will be able to access the Download Master by using web browser.

Thank you
*
Hi...Perhaps, Asus dev team should add in such a feature to allow a non-admin account to access the Download Master area. Ultimate control over users & login credentials will always be with the Admin account. This is to help allow household members to have access to the download master without surrendering the admin login details.

guys normally asus rt n12hp router is how many years warranty ar?

i saw lazada seller some 1 year some 2 and 3 years ._.

not warranty given by asus malaysia 1 ar?
*
Better careful though as Asus refuses to directly handle warranty claims. Always replies that you return to the seller & claim.. Saving a couple of RM might not be worth it later if you ever have issues & need to claim warranty. You can see from some of the previous posts that even some physical shops are problematic, much less Lazada.

Call customer service for login details.. You can try setting up the AC66U first to see if it'll work.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Yes. I tested the performance within two meters from the router, without any blocking.

As mentioned earlier, I am connecting with 5GHz

Have checked the WifiInfoView previously, seems like my house is the only household in my double storey landed neighborhood which uses the 5GHz band...  whistling.gif

Seems like you ticked all the boxes and the performance simply sucks...

Hello everyone,

Wanna get advice from experts here...
I'm thinking to change my unifi router with  RT-N12HP. It is recommended by my colleague. He has been use for the past 1 year and performance still good.

Reason why I want to change the router is because, current unifi router, wifi sometimes totally drop and cannot connect at all after some times.
I just upgrade the unifi 30mbps together with the new unifi router.  sweat.gif
*
Counteroffer...... While the RT-N12HP might perform satisfactorily for your colleague... Are your environments identical? Cuz you should be looking at what works best inline with your requirements & environment. Unless you've already considered all that, decided on the RT-N12HP and simply want others to come support the decision. In which case, you probably shouldn't be asking in the first place. icon_rolleyes.gif

Edit: Its a wise move to replace the stock TM router as its known to be problematic for some. Plus you'd get finer controls on your network.

What's the difference between the RT-AC1200HP and the RT-AC55UHP?

For the life of me, i cannot find the COMPARE button on your product page, after ticking the boxes for these 2 products.
*
See the attached....

Attached File  RT_AC1200HP_VS_RT_AC55UHP.pdf ( 335.46k ) Number of downloads: 30

Edit:
Select routers for comparison.
Click the four square icon beside the "Login" text at the top of the page.
"Compare List".... You should see thumbnails of both routers or more..
Scroll down (Within the box that appeared)...
"Compare Now"...

Hi, thanks for your input.

But what do you mean counter offer?
I'm actually not an expert on networking/broadband thingy.. Asking advice if anyone has the issue and whether the device is good to go. Or probably there's and upgrade on the model already. Since that was a year ago model.

If you can provide more troubleshooting skill or how to find what work best...before I move on to get the device is better still.  icon_idea.gif
Besides, what mean environment identical?
*
Hey, you are welcome. By counteroffer, I meant my previous reply to be a response to yours...bla..bla.. tongue.gif . Also by identical environments, I was asking if your colleague's network environment is similar to yours. Things like landed or condo/apt, size, wireless range, routers nearby, occupied channels, walls, interference, etc... Cuz less interference usually results in better performance. I know of a pal who I think uses the RT-N12HP and he has no complaints. I'm unaware of a revised hardware (others may input here)... However, if budget allows, perhaps consider the RT-N14UHP instead?

I wonder how's the NAS throughput on RT-AC55UHP, since it's having the USB 3.0 port.  hmm.gif

I'm unsure, but as you've experienced... Don't expect much.. smile.gif

Did that, but it's still the same. Ugh

2.4GHz (More congested) range > 5GHz (Less congested) range. Want better reception, either stick to the 2.4GHz band or move the box closer to fully utilize the 5GHz band. Its normal.

Hi Boy96,

Do send the device to the place you bought for warranty claim.

Thank you
*
Apologies if this question has been asked and answered before. However, I've been following this thread for months and do not recall an answer. How much would it hurt for ASUS to setup one or more locations or even use the preexisting service locations as receiver points for router warranty claims? Any particular reason that ASUS Malaysia simply refuses to directly deal with it? Perhaps keep a serial database like Samsung Malaysia, etc, for devices officially sold to the Malaysian market. I ask cuz sometimes, it's easier, cheaper & much less hassle to do the necessary research & purchase online than to walk into a physical store. While you do a fine job responding here on lowyat, providing proper warranty service to consumers will only increase our satisfaction & trust to purchase the products.

Hi rjflyguy, voncrane,

Thank you for your feedback, we do notice some of the end user concern.

We are currently looking into this direction too, and hopefully we are able to implement it ASAP.

Thank you

Thank you for pointing me on that great information.

May I know where can I get it here? I mean who should I contact with in order to buy that on lowyat forum.

Thanks again.

Preferably from a recognized dealer that will handle any warranty issues.. Very important.

Hi, wana ask you guys opinion.
Now I'm using RT-N12HP, and I changed wireless channel to 11.
Previously it's auto default @ channel 6, but is it recommend to use channel 11? I understand that channel 1, 6 and 11 don't overlay
*
Use a Wifi network channel scanner to search for the least crowded channel around you. Then manually change to that channel for best results.

One simple test, if you know your internet gateway you can have a ping to it and see the ms.

2. Ping to google 8.8.8.8 and what MS that you receive?

3. As my understanding 30Mbps come with 30DL/5UL.
*
TM recently increased it to 10 UP... Rolling out in stages among subscribers.

I am using Windows 10 and I can see my RT-AC55UHP in This PC -> Network locations.  I can make a shortcut to the RT-AC55UHP on the desktop and it will have the RT-AC55UHP icon.  I need the RT-AC55UHP icon because I have my own third party quick launcher for programs and shortcuts to drives and folders.  But I cannot find the RT-AC55UHP .ico file in my pc.
*
That's probably a Windows default icon.. Why so particular? Just screenshot & crop the image, save as icon & use away.. Alternatively surely, using Google images isn't too difficult.. Tons of router icons and images out there.. Take your pick..

This model looks promising. Although I don't use USB connectivity (unless I know how to setup a printer on it), but it is a bonus.
By the way, do you have any info where to get it at this price?
You can PM me if you like.  nod.gif

Since Asus Malaysia STILL refuses to directly handle warranty claims.. You'll have to send it back to the seller.
