Sony's just pulled the update. You can log in with 4.41.

what gonna happened to the ps3 that already updated that firmware???...damn.

There will be a patch "soon" (Sony says tomorrow) that users can download onto their thumbdrive, boot the PS3 up in safe mode and then update the PS3 again.
4.45 didn't actually kill the system, more like there is a glitch in the code where the PS3 doesn't virtually see one or more components (in this case, a lot are saying a non-stock HDD) not being connected.

guys, previously i had PS3 (the phat 40gb one). Send for repair, twice has been revive from the dead (YLOD). Now, its already Sayonara. No longer can turn on.

Now, im planning to buy a new PS3 (in dilemma between Slim or Super Slim?? )

Questions
1) Can i log in to the new PS3 by using the current ID? or do i have to register a new one?
2) i forgot to do back up for all the DLC i have in the old PS3, so i guess thats sayonara too? (Buying the DLC with 5 other frens)
3) PS3 Slim or PS3 Super Slim? whats the difference? any recommendation?

1) Yes you can , no u dont have to create a new one, if your psn account is already sync with the trophies then you're good to go with a new PS3.

2) Yep its gone but it should be available for download in the PS store for which the account it's tied in.

3) Just go for the latest hardware, the super slim that is.

Guys...I wanted to subscribe to PS Plus and I was wondering whether games that you collected free will remain playable and downloadable in the future for example games that already left the lineup like little big planet 2 for the year 2012..

You will need to deactivate your old PS3 first (google for instructions) for that login ID. If you forgot then even if you download, you will not be able to use it. Furthermore the sharing cap is now 2 persons only and no longer 5 unless the DLC is bought way back before Sony change its policy.

Ebay. There is no Ellie Edition for R1 by the way. Only R2 (italian ellie got PS3 skin & Water bottle )

If you just started you will not be able to get the free games that already left the line up. However if you download the newer ones they will remain in your account as long as you keep maintaining your subscription (just make sure you hit download and the store shows that the game already Purchased).
