Im still playing my PS3. Still able to download some digital games from PS3 store. I already downloaded God of War 1 & 2 collection. God of War Sparta & Chain of Olympus. There are lot of famous PS3 games still available to be downloaded from the PS3 store. You need to add funds to your PS Store Wallet to purchase the PS3 games. Maybe tonight I will buy Max Payne 3 digital games from the PS3 Store. Very nostalgic to play back all the famous PS3 games which you not able to play in PS5 & PS4. thumbup.gif

The PS3 is the last great Sony console and I'm saying this as a Sony fanboy. Starting with the PS4 it became just an underpowered PC and the same can be said about the PS5, both consoles lack an identity to me and their designs are generic. Maybe because both were designed by Westerners

Didn't think much of the PS3 back then but agree its a great console - my first Gen fat one died within 5 years and had to replace it with the final slim (with sliding disc cover) in 2013 which is still alive today but can't save date/time due to expired CMOS battery.

Still using it to finish Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear HD Collection, ICO/Shadow of the Colossus.

Playing some old PS3 games few weeks already. Mostly games that I didn't have a chance to play during launch such as Drakengard 3 and Tales of series. As for Drakengard 3, damn how the heck we can bare playing that game on 30 fps with lots of fps drop during big battle laugh.gif

My Playstation 3 Slim [2009 model] bought on year 2010 seems gg now

Press power button [green] > Run 5-10 seconds (screen shows nothing) > 3 beeps sound > Power button flash red

Seems like overheat?

I did change the HDD afterward and the screen does show something "connect dualshock to continue" but it quickly gone away with 3 beeps sound and flash red light

rip to your PS3 slim. most likely motherboard gone case. you can try to resolder and reapply the thermal paste... but most likely wont last you long.

Reason i still have my PS3 is because wanna play back some classic title games
Then Sony PS4 & PS5 unable to backward compatible, duh.... cry.gif

But since mine still can see the "recovery menu" so not sure reapply thermal paste will work or not.

to be frank, i don't really remember the exact amount, but it's around RM100 - RM150 depends whether comes with HDD or not.

carousell and FB market could be a good place to survey, but yea, courier to east always comes with a risk. sweat.gif

Oh ok.

The disc (assume spoilt) can be read in PC if you have BD ROM ?

It could be only 2 things,

NEC tokins failing, all the RSX needs to be reballed by an experience technician.

Do not go to DELID IHS method, just need to get a good thermal paste. Or if you are daring, can refer to youtube video on how to repaste the the GPU and CPU.

YLOD is a sign of failing components, not dead motherboard.

If you did jailbreak before and did a dump of the hex keys, you can still retrieve it by decrypting it with PC, but needs a lot of steps.
