QUOTE(Killer Tomato @ Apr 4 2013, 08:11 PM) that's what alot of people said thru disccusion, but i'm curious how does it vacuum the dust out while the vent is so kecik miao? QUOTE(SSJBen @ Apr 4 2013, 08:38 PM) Assuming you're on the PS3 slim (or phat, or super slim even, doesn't matter), vacuuming through the vents will pretty much do.... nothing. yeah... thanks for the clarification. i did disassemble PS3 units before. Mine is a phat version, which the fan is on the bottom, so there are alot to take out There are no fans at the PS3's vents. The fan is next to the BD-ROM at the front of the PS3, there are small slits at the bottom of the casing. Those slits are way too small for any dust to be sucked out anyways. The ONLY sure fire way of removing dust from the PS3 is to open it up and cleaning it from the inside. A lot of the components are sandwich together, so even more reason that vacuuming through the vents just won't work. So yeah, find a nice day... open it up, get a can of compressed air and spray away. Just make sure you don't spray into the BD drive. This post has been edited by cycheah: Apr 4 2013, 08:46 PM |

QUOTE(jemin75 @ Jun 26 2013, 11:09 PM) hi, my ps3 HD kong just now (sound like normal pc HD when kong)..question is: can i buy normal HD and slot in? any HD will do?....can somebody point me to step on how to fix this inside the forum? my ps3 warranty already expired. TQ any 2.5" HDD will do however, it's better to get HDD that produce less heat... like WesternD have blue, green, black series kinda thing. They would recommend black series, but is bit more expensive. how to change HDD... go ask mr. youtube.... there got tons of video show how to do it... it is not that hard either, you just need a small (+) screwdriver like we use for computer and a new HDD(with fat32 format). i assume you wont be doing any backup since previous HDD gone case already. |

QUOTE(TongCN @ May 6 2024, 11:43 AM) My Playstation 3 Slim [2009 model] bought on year 2010 seems gg now rip to your PS3 slim. most likely motherboard gone case. you can try to resolder and reapply the thermal paste... but most likely wont last you long.Press power button [green] > Run 5-10 seconds (screen shows nothing) > 3 beeps sound > Power button flash red Seems like overheat? I did change the HDD afterward and the screen does show something "connect dualshock to continue" but it quickly gone away with 3 beeps sound and flash red light |

QUOTE(TongCN @ May 6 2024, 01:22 PM) Reason i still have my PS3 is because wanna play back some classic title games Then Sony PS4 & PS5 unable to backward compatible, duh.... But since mine still can see the "recovery menu" so not sure reapply thermal paste will work or not. QUOTE(snipersnake @ May 7 2024, 09:07 AM) @TongCN, i did what snipersnake suggest, i bought 2nd hand super slim and sold my spoiled SP3 slim to a shop in sungai wang. Nowadays not sure still have 2nd hand without repair, but refurbish might be a good option. |

QUOTE(TongCN @ May 7 2024, 09:56 AM) What's the price of spoilt PS3 Slim tat time u sold eh? to be frank, i don't really remember the exact amount, but it's around RM100 - RM150 depends whether comes with HDD or not. I'm in East Malaysia and not sure still can find a refurbished unit or not. carousell and FB market could be a good place to survey, but yea, courier to east always comes with a risk. |
