have to rewire? or the wire is actually there just need to plug and play?
*
no rewiring at all. the side steps is plug and play

for the centre console LED, and foot well. you have to buy your own LED, and some longer wires to extend it and connect it to the ISS socket

I see, what i saw from the Honda brochure they are selling 1 set for around RM600  rclxub.gif

btw do you purchase the side mirror with wide angle from hollyfish? intend to change mine once i get my car on next week.
*
honda 1 definitely overpriced. and the LED is only for front, rear passenger wont have LED wording, only steel plate.

the side mirror with wide angle 1 not yet, maybe next month or so. so far i just purchased the LED side step and auto lock from him

one thing forgot to ask, the door step will fit neatly with the door? Last time i saw my friend purchase for his Civic and for the rear side sometimes might stuck to the door
*
not problems at all. door will close and open smoothly

QUOTE(vez @ Aug 25 2013, 12:25 AM)
anyone know how much total for changing City all wheels brake? My almost 5 years old City almost 60,000 km and the tire shop peoples inform me the brake almost need to change.

If send to Honda service centre, is it better? or any tire shop will do?

thanks.
*
dont go honda service centre, their brake pads are overpriced. buy your own brake pad and change outside better

Hi ZeneticX,

How's the "auto lock"?
Is it working perfectly as what the seller claims?
For the installation, did it need to modify/cut any wires?
*
it's just plug and play. no need cut any wires

working fine so far. unlock when gear shift to P, lock when gear shift to D. auto lock once ur car start moving if u manually unlock the doors, and auto unlock if you did an emergency braking.

I saw this from Honda India. Their Honda City do come with cruise control. Anyone has installed or any lubang to find the OEM type cruise control?  tongue.gif  rclxms.gif
*
after market cruise control module i know available. but if you want exactly like honda with the buttons on steering i think a bit hard to be done.

QUOTE(mytaffeta @ Aug 25 2013, 01:07 PM)
bro holly did the installation too? i mean for the side step.. hw much is it?
*
ya he provide installation, rm200

QUOTE(babygrand123 @ Aug 25 2013, 01:36 PM)
Bro so mean i have to buy wires and few LED to DIY install front leg room and rear under the umbrella area all wires need to install the ISS socket? By the way where is ISS socket ? I am planning to DIY
*
yes just tap all wires to the ISS socket. the socket is located below the driver side, at the right.

btw ISS = illuminated side step

Haha I thought that before, but the different is I'm thinking that FD2 steering can directly fit with out City or not lol
*
QUOTE(whitewhite @ Aug 25 2013, 08:15 PM)
hehe this not very sure but the shape and type of the steering wheel that used by Honda just look similar shape and type the only difference is only the button switch maybe  smile.gif
*
the steering is exactly the same

but problem is even if you want to take the cruise control module from FD2 and install into city it won't be easy as plug and play. FD2 and city are 2 totally different cars so they share diff ecu settings, and also the airbag would be another problem.

in the end even if all can be done, the cost and workmanship won't be cheap

haha i thought the CC module is just universal as the Honda steering wheel look the same, if i'm not mistaken Honda City in thailand do come with CC too but too bad malaysia version never include this good stuff  cry.gif
*
maybe you can ask honda malaysia and see what they could do to help you tongue.gif money solve everythg here mah

or if you really wan cruise control and hassle free, get those after market module like this

user posted image

mind you this after market type controller also need RM700+

RM700+ hmm almost the price to install CC in FD 1.8 with OEM socket smile.gif

If quote from honda the price surely will burn my pocket tongue.gif due to i back to my hometown always so this CC is good to use in NS-Highway. Just drive relax on d mid lane and enjoy the song  rclxms.gif
*
time to learn how to manually control the throttle tongue.gif

but seriously if you wan CC, that's the best choice. because if need to change the steering confirm need to mess with the airbag

we can do any modifications with the car but best is to not tamper with any of the safety equipments

Mind explain more why will mess to the airbag? Sorry kind of noob on this  tongue.gif
*
when you remove the steering means you have to remove the airbag as well. except honda msia service centre themselves, i won't trust any 3rd party outside shop to mess with that stuff. unless the reputation is vry good

QUOTE(whitewhite @ Aug 26 2013, 01:26 AM)
The airbag in located behind the steering wheel and the CC module socket is inside the steering wheel so if any careless mistake during dismantle it will mess up airbag or maybe the ECU too
*
nicely said +1

while on the topic on cruise control i went to search for steering audio controls instead (since im driving S spec)

found this link

http://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-generat...o-controls.html

so if any1 manage to get the CC buttons and control modules maybe you can give it a try. but for me, better not tongue.gif

Haha, did you manage to found the side mirror with motor to fold it? Even if we installed the modules how about the ECU? Is our Honda City ECU inside already got the cruise control or need to install also?
*
don't think our city ECU come with cruise control. need to flash the correct software / configuration inside. that's another tough work to be done

QUOTE(ascll @ Aug 26 2013, 02:17 PM)
Mind to share how much for the "auto-lock" with installation?

pm hollyfish. RM170 with installation

Hi City members :

Anyone here encounter problem on parking sensor? I notice our city parking sensor can't detect whatever object below than 30cm which is very dangerous specially those parking bay with divider which is high risk for us to kiss the back bumper?

Today went to SC for 1000km service and tech supervisor told me it can't be detected and he also demo this to another customer city as well and it really can't work !!!

I really can't acceptable this than what is the use of 4 unit rear parking sensor for our city?

I have no issue just 2 unit parking sensor at vios, wira, iswara, viva, altis, civic and many more....

Please share you own experience on the parking sensor here and thank you veru much.
*
if you read the manual booklet (the smaller booklet, not the thick 1. the one with colour pictures)

it will mention all the limitations of the parking sensor

all i can say is get used to it and get to know your car more, knowing when to stop.

or spend some money and get a reverse cam

Bro thanks for the feedback so are u trying to said u sensor also working like the same way as mine ???? vios also mounted high as well and the sensor detecting the angle should be 45 degree not just sense it in one straight line only !
*
city sensor is designed to sense a wider range of area instead of higher area

that's why it have 4 sensor instead of 2

I saw from his website, front and rear both are illuminated right?
Rm200 for front and rear including installation?

where are those wire to keep btw? will it look messy?

Thanks. smile.gif
*
you can see from my pic. the wire is hide inside the door rubber lining. it wont be visible at all.

ya rm200 for both side including installation

QUOTE(vuilun @ Aug 31 2013, 01:18 PM)
I have seen many ppl say that it only plug and play for the side step with led. However my installer here said need wiring cut so until today I not plug any wire yet. Just stick it only mean without light. Any photo can show where wiring plug and play .
*
there are two types of ISS out there. one is oem style which is plug and play (wont void warranty), another is 3rd party which need to cut wire. recommended to go for the OEM

QUOTE(NeO2 @ Aug 31 2013, 04:15 PM)
anyone noticed the interior plastic easy to get dirty and scratches? ( the door and dashboard)
*
my car 4 years+ edi. the door rubber lining there got some stain marks which wont go away. interior still ok. door panels also got some stubborn stain marks

if u put effort to take care of the interior it should be ok

never use the onboard computer for your fc... that is just estimation

you need to do manual calculation if you want a precise value.

fuelly.com will make the job easier
