is it safe to walk alone in broga hill or other such hills? in terms of robbery/crime
*
So far, every seems to be okay to me. But there are cases of robbery occurred at Bukit Gasing before. Do aware of that place.

But my best advice, it is better to go with another person because if anything happened to you (touch wood) someone can seek help on your behalf.

Problem is quite difficult to get people to follow me out  sweat.gif
Here is my trip to Broga Hill yesterday -> Click me

Nice pictures by the way.

I used to be an active hiker but kindly slow down due to work commitment. If not, you can join me around. Since you are into photography, you might like Bukit Tabur at Taman Melawati - West and East route but it might be packed with people on the weekend.

Other nearby hills such as Bukit Saga or Bukit Ketumbar do not offer you much scenery. The only reason you might love to drop by to Bukit Saga aka Ah Pek Hill for some would be the waterfall but you might take up a half a day just for a completion.

anybody pernah camping at Air Terjun Berkelah or Air Terjun Jerangkang at Pahang
can somebody share with me about this place.

*
Never have the time like I used to have since I am into my new job.

By the way, I saw you stating about Jerangkang and Berkelah. Where do you want to camp? Base camp or at the top of the waterfall?

Never been to the 42 falls of Jerangkang yet but Berkelah did that last year. You can camp very near to the last fall where you cannot see the bottom (more than 25 ft for sure). If your group know the way to Gunung Serendum, proceed from there and you will need to camp another day on the peak. A beirut marked the peak of Gunung Serendum.

Name: Nee
Summits conquered: Kinabalu (ascend from timpohon gate), nuang, tabur, Huang Shan (china), jerai (by car)
Next target: kinabalu again (mesilau + via ferrata), any mountain climbing activities available for me to join
frequent workout place: jog, walk, swim, dance
*
Sure or not Mesilau + Ferrata? If you are not able to reach Pendant Hut by 3.30pm, you are automatically consider forfeited from joining Via Ferrata. My advice - hired a porter to get your stuff up and rush ASAP. Via Ferrata got two trails - Walk the Torq and Low Peak Circuit. RM450 and RM550 respectively.

Expected journey duration: Day 1: 6-8 hours, Day 2 (if clear skies): Low Peak: 2-4 hours, descent to 7.5km mark: 1 hour, Via Ferrata (LPC): 4-6 hours (depends on individual), Via Timpohon descent (Non stop): 2 hours

Thanks for the advice.
Mesilau or not, I will definitely try Ferrata (budget must fit for sure). Anyway, just came back from there, so the plan will not be in short notice, or maybe take years to fulfill.
Hiring porter is a must too, I'm capable of carrying my own 1.5L water and snacks only.
*
Not all mountains have porters, especially those at Peninsular and apply to those which is not so popular. Example: Gunung Liang, Gunung Lebah, etc.

Via Ferrata have lots of regulation. Day 1, have to reach the Pendant Hut by 3.30pm or else forfeited. Day 2, have to reach the 7.5km mark (slightly after Sayat-Sayat checkpoint) by 7.30am or else forfeited. Raining automatically forfeited.

Even if you start that does not guarantee you can complete the Ferrata. If less than 50m and it started to rain, you have to turn back and there goes your chance.

Not to forget, by doing Via Ferrata, you do not get to enjoy much time at the Low's Peak.

Best advice if you are trying Via Ferrata as below
Day 1: Mesilau Gate
Day 2: Low Peak and then Via Ferrata (stay an additional night)
Day 3: Descent to Timpohon Gate

This regulation applied to both ferrata routes?

I spent almost 30min - 1h waiting my friends at Low's Peak, enjoyed the time liao, so miss that also won't heartache.

Yes I agree that raining is a huge element too...
*
Apply for both Via Ferrata if you are tired. Low Peak Circuit is 1.2km while Walk The Torq is 300m only.

Walk The Torq start at Sayat-Sayat. LPC start at 7.5km mark

If you start from Kuala Klawang, then it would be from the Kenaboi Adventure group. They also offer bamboo rafting, caving, river tubing and much more. Hope you guys enjoy the trip.

I know there is no hiking trail there so just wondering

Exactly where you want to go as there are many trails inside the Forest Reserve? But take note that you might encounter wild boars, wild cats and snare traps.

Some G7 are piece of cake. For example, YB and YY. I think the toughest would be CUS. It is only the height that matters.

Kampung Kemensah? Are you referring to Ulu Gombak Forest Reserve?
I'm talking about Hutan Lipur Ampang, Jalan Bukit Belacan
*
It can be link shakehead.gif Some even hike from there to Gunung Nuang - a much difficult, longer and unclear path. Need to camp at least a night in the unknown.

If you specific only want try out the Bukit Belacan route, there is one way nearby to Darul Ehsan Golf Club which can lead to at least 7-10 routes with one of them will be a cross over to Bukit Belacan from Bukit Indah. Some route can lead to a small waterfall; bamboo forest; etc.

anybody knows where to get outdoor apparels? don't know where to find.

It is about 2.5-4 hours of trekking but not much of a view to see. It is pretty clear trail from Indah to Belacan.

What kind of outdoor apparels you are looking forward to have?

Go to Bangsar. The same row as McDonald the other end corner. Shop name should be UFL - Universal Fitness and Leisure.

Still at Bangsar, nearby to BSN bank. Lafuma could provide lots of variety but things would not be cheap.

The other I would recommend will be Corezone located at SS2. Opposite of SS2 Mobil petrol station.

Cannot find these kind of clothes in Nike/Adidas/Royal Sporting House laugh.gif
The shop called "Outdoor" in Pavilion didn't have my size or maybe it's ang mor's size. I usually wear M size but I tried S and it was still a tad too big for me.
*
You can get your hiking gear from there as well. If you know where is Campbell Complex, then perhaps you can try to go to a shop called Evergeen Adventure to hunt for your items wink.gif .

If you are going from Ulu Bendul Recreational Park, find it in the GPS and you are able to locate that place. The only problem you might encounter is finding the "keris" statue like what you saw at Gunung Datuk. Find that and follow the beside the pipes till you reach Kem Tangga Batu (if I can remember). From there it is all the way hike up. Need to cross 1 or 2 river crossing. Ulu Bendul is tougher than the easier route from Bukit Putus.

its a park? from what i remember. the foothill is along the main road with 2 shops facing it. that was many years back already.
*
Yeah, it's a park. Upon entering to the park you will see lots of shop at the left and right side of the entrance. Inside you will see lots of people enjoying the shower (somesort of mini Sunway Lagoon). From there, find the keris statue and you are able to hike to Gunung Angsi. Last time used to charge RM5 per person but my last visit there last year, there are no charges at all.
