I guess curiosity kills the phone after all I bought my V3i with MDM warranty. Was thinking of replacing the keypad flex cable from cnn.cn but not in the right financial situation rite now.

BTW, I just found out sth. The bootload mode is not actually helping anything. The screen just happens to work when I was booting up in bootload mode, that's why I tot bootload mode fixed it! All this while the phone went into bootloadmode but I can't see it as the screen was down. Haha. How stupid of me.

not sure if i should be asking here.. but my fren got a V3i from UK... its supposed to be unlocked...
but when she got back and tried with a digi simcard.. it doesnt work...
any ideas where she can bring it to fix the prob? or any way to check if the fon is locked or not?

- i download mp3 songs to my Tflash n i wanted to set ringtones for my phone contacts ! but becoz its installed on Tflash i couldnt make it as ring tones !
so do i need to install at phone memory to do so !
- how to install themes / games in v3i ? any good websites ?

na.tech, you must have the MP3 files on the Phone memory in order to set them as ringtones. It's a limitation that may be overcome in the future, but it's hard to say for now.

Correct, as of now there's no way to use a file on the memory card as your ringtone. There is a seem edit for enabling it, but I don't think it works.

You've got the V3i iTunes, right? Check your current S/W Version by keying in *#9999#. The latest and greatest firmware for V3i iTunes is A1R - you can find the reflash for download here.

There IS a firmware for non iTunes V3i-s to use ringtones on the TF Card.. you have to edit a seem too.. the firmwares include R479_...B5.10R, etc.. from my observation, any R479 firmwares (for non-iTunes) with the ..B5.xx designation (instead of the older ..B4.xx) can use ringtones on the TF card with the help of SEEM edits..

wow..looks like there is so many things to do just to enable mp3 as ringtones on the TF Card.. too bad mine is the iTunes model so anyhow it is not supported..

i read some where that you can also install DAP on iTunes sets but not vice-versa.. is this true?

yeah.. you can put DAP in V3i iTunes, but you can't put iTunes into V3i non-iTunes..

and how do i do this??

There is a guide to installing Motorola DAP somewhere on the forum as well. You have to obtain the Motorola DAP Java application and then transfer it onto your phone either through the microSD or using Moto MidMan.

Does your phone automatically stop playing audio files when you close the flip if you access them using Multimedia > Sounds ?

Tried this using iTunes and it doesnt happen.. hmm..

If you play audio files from Sounds menu, yes, it will stop playing when u close the flip. However, there's a seem edit to enable the audio files to be played while the flip's closed. You have to refer to www.motox.info forum for details.
