Guys, I need your help. I connected my lappie to the TV via S-Video. Video no problem, yet.

But, the resolution on the TV is 1280x800 (!). How to set to 640x480? Whenever I try, both screens turn to that resolution. And then the video playback. It plays on the lappie, but not on the TV, and the audio keep hissing.

hey guys, i'm having some issue with vista home premium mce ... hope to seek some expertise from you all smile.gif

1) video playback under Vista MCE is laggy, but no issue playing is wmp full screen. possible codec issue i presume, installed ffdshow tryouts, sld codec pack.

2) i'm using HDMI from the AN-78HD for both display and audio to my lcd tv. display is awesome, audio is crappy. the audio sounds like added tons of audio filters ... almost unable to hear wateva the sound is. tongue.gif

1) Have you tried out K-Lite Mega? It could help. btw, may we know your full rig's specs?
2) What audio connector did you use?

I downloaded some HD trailers. Surprisingly though, it was stated as 720p, but when I checked, it was less than 720. Somewhere like 1280x539 like that. I use KLM for my HD playback. No problems whatsoever.

QUOTE(Skylinestar @ Sep 21 2008, 09:05 AM)
720p not necessary means 720 vertical resolution.
720p derives from 1280*720.
as long as the movie has 1280 horizontal resolution, such as 1280*539, it is still regarded as 720p.
*
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/720p

720p has a widescreen aspect ratio of 16:9, a vertical resolution of 720 pixels and a horizontal resolution of 1280 pixels for a total of 921,600 pixels. The frame rate (in this case equal to the refresh rate) can be either implied by the context or specified in hertz after the letter p. The five 720p frame rates in common use are 24, 25, 30, 50 and 60 Hz (or frame/s). In general, traditional PAL and SECAM countries (Europe, Australia, much of Asia, Africa, and parts of South America) are or will be using the 25p and 50p frame or field rates, whereas traditional NTSC countries (North and Central America, Japan, South Korea, Philippines) are using 24p (for movies), and 60p for high motion programming. All variants can be transported by both major digital television formats, ATSC and DVB.

Okay guys. Back to HTPC discussions. If you have anymore queries, don't hesitate to ask at the Frontdesk. Cheers.
