is it possible to connect my note 2 to my samsung tv and use the tv as a screen wirelessly?

I'm able to use the allshare function but only limited to photos, video and music.
I would like to share powerpoint presentation or a sketch.

Anyone have any idea?

that means even I have AllShare Play on my Samsung 40" I still need the Cast Dongle???
*
Hmm..then if you have a Samsung TV with Allshare already, then I suppose you have to turn it on on the TV side, and use the phone Allshare app to search for it.

Don't have Samsung TV so can't advise.

I have no battery issues with Monx rom n perseus kernel 29
Same as before. Battery drain overnight 7-8 hours with 3g on n active fb, tweeter feeds is only 2-3%
Infact similar pattern in all the roms I have tested
Battery life is never a issue unlike note where I need to tinker with kernels n setcpu

Added on December 22, 2012, 2:21 pm
Non kl guy. What is so famous about this lorong?
*
Ah...you have Monx with perseus kerrnel. I was using monx without any changes, so I guess it's his default stock kernel tweaks. My battery life improved only after switching kernels.

And ah, lrg hj taib is a famous red light street within the Chow Kit area. There are supposedly some offers of service for which perhaps sang_kanchil can enlighten us all. whistling.gif

I was on monx+Perseus somehow it still drained my battery. sweat.gif

Now on monx+Pil merah. biggrin.gif Let's see, so far it only dropped 1% since I flashed. Will continue monitoring. thumbup.gif

Just a thought. For all those who call you 'bro' perhaps a highlight of the phrase "i'm not a bro" might make it clearer?

Of course, none so blind as those who would not see..... cool2.gif icon_rolleyes.gif

I'm assuming you're trying to transfer a photo or a file to the One X and all the necessary settings are enabled.

Short answer, it's normal but it shouldn't be.

Long answer: Here's the thing, NFC is a slow speed protocol which is not fast enough to transfer a file. That's why Google came out with Android Beam while Samsung came out with S-Beam. These two beams are utilizing NFC to initiate transfer connection and pair the two devices together. After that it does the transferring over with Bluetooth in case of Android Beam and with Wifi Direct in case of S-Beam.

The problem is, these two beams do not work with each other. You can either do NFC beam between two Samsung devices or between two other Android devices.

This, IMHO is a disappointment.

Thank you this is a good and enlightening post.

have you tried perseus29.1 kernal? does it help?
*
Well, Redpill's doing fine for me, and it has exfat support so I'm not complaining. Can't really tell if Perseus has exfat support coz he's got a very long changelog. Haven't read thru his thread yet.

Anyway, I'll stick to redpill first coz I intend to get a 64Gb card very very soon. Redpill has some built in swap function which is 1-click and reboot and voila you get swapped storage.

anyone using monx rom ? now only i noticed all my contact number lari ady>< how ?
*
I'm using, and so is fruitie. The default kernel sucks juice at twice the rate. Swap out to Perseus or Redpill.

No reported problems apart from the battery drain.

Maybe you did a dirty flash haha. I did a fullwipe of everything.

Remove google account and add back. No need touch csc or flash other rom.

Added on December 22, 2012, 10:02 pmMonx rom with current kernel i am using there is no battery drain. Normal batt usage can last 6 hrs screen on time like before. So i believe the drain some experience is due to some rogue app or the stock kernel got some problem.
*
Stock kernel problem gua....full wipe with all legit software, same as before the wipe...double drain. Switched to redpill 1.0, back to regular drain.

is it hard to swap sd card to internal memory without rooting?
*
Swapping the card changes some system parameters used by Android. So, you MUST have root access to do so. It's not a question of "hard".....it's not allowed without root.

i remember there were some who said there are 2 ways to do that? one requires root and the other doesn't need root? Does that mean there is only one way which is to root?

Way no 2. - [TOOL] DirectoryBind - move data to external_sd (GameLoft, Shadowgun etc.) ROOT req.

So far monx + RedPill has been treating me quite good. At least it kinda normalize my battery situation a bit.

Though it is not as good as stock but at least much better than when I was on monx only or monx + Perseus.

This is the case for me, might not be the same for others.

If it works well, will help my sister on her Note 2 as well. She's still on 4.1.1, definitely will update for her to 4.1.2 but the question is monx or not. laugh.gif
*
Same case for me, I was on monx default, then straight to redpill. Didn't try perseus.

Meaning if I go for yoobao 13k won't make any difference right?

Think to go for the Decepticon.
*
The long march model is 1A and 2A, heard that Decepticon is only up to 1A, you might want to check it out properly. Still works though, since Samsung is not as picky as some other fruit logo-ed company. I have a Long March 11200mAh.

Technically speaking, at those ratings, it should be a full blown notebook adapter, so, a waste of money IMHO. If it had notebook voltages, then worth getting.

Amoda is in front of LYP. The distributor, Vector Digital, is located there. They handle all warranty claims.
