QUOTE(Cynox @ Dec 27 2012, 10:21 AM) just realise how we have so bias view about the devices we like. Just read some Nexus 4 postings yesterday and some potential owners just praise it like it is the best phones with the best hardware specs and apps out there. I have always wanted an all-in-one device that can also take handwritten notes. That is why I always wanted the tablet form factor to come down in price during the x86 days. Well, it took ARM to beat the shit out of the pricing so now it's a lot more affordable but still pricey. In order to experience the fastest and latest android system update, i got myself the Nexus 7 32gb wifi. So before I got the Note1, I trawled the net looking for a worthy successor to my Nokia N8 at the time. In fact I had almost resigned myself to get an S2 that almost met my requirements. I did not consider anything that had no expandable storage nor removable battery, and just didn't get why you needed to sacrifice functionality in the name of aesthetics. That is another long story in itself... When I was about to make my purchase, whispers of a 5.3" device with an ACTIVE DIGITIZER came, and I watched and waited. Nexus was also about to launch at the time. I read ALL the reviews of Note and Nexus... then made a rational decision based on my own requirements instead of hype of the new shiny by HTC/LG/Moto etc etc. I had no bias prior to getting Note1 (of course I was biased against crapple but that's fundamental) and I still read reviews of many devices to understand it and consider if it's a worthy successor to Note 2 now. So, I would think people are completely taken in by the "new shiny oooh" spouted by marketers all the time without giving rational thought as to why they want to get it. I remember there was the WTO meeting in Seattle in 2006 or 2007....the protesters held placards with the words "Give us back our brains" ie dont spin too much BS to influence us with bias.... Long rant..... |

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Dec 27 2012, 05:16 PM) failures maximus Awsomest Maximus for effortus !!!!here is what i did to suffer epic fail 1. using my existing UK-linked account and tried to DL, failed. 2. smartly went to a website which generates fake names addresses and CC info for registration purposes, added into amazon and made it my 1-click, still failed. 3. full of gusto that amazon will succumb to my genius mind, i created a new account, which using the methods above yet again... and.. failed.. thus i gave up and decided not to install the most desirable 2 apps i wanted, the officesuite and tuneinpro I got both these during last app sale at $0.25 or was it $0.99. |

Hmmm....good CPU... my son played NFS:MW for half an hour, I took a look at BBS CPU states.
It's running the game at only 1GHz the whole duration. Sooo....a clock limit to 1GHz or 1.2GHz might be enough unless you experience a lot of stutter. |

QUOTE(alexng2208 @ Dec 27 2012, 05:57 PM) i think i'll just fork out the .99 for the app instead of bothering with all this I'm familiar with the general concepts of this method and occasionally muck around with bootable linux USB sticks for kicks. Tails is just a customized linux to erase stuff securely and https by default.though i'd love to go VPN on my phone and have james bond level security on an unrelated note : http://lifehacker.com/5916551/browse-like-...race-with-tails |

QUOTE(dotaallstarz @ Dec 27 2012, 06:09 PM) i tried formating to exfat but getting error.. window was unable to complete the format. What is the size of your card? If it's less than 64gb windows will format is as fat32. Unless your card has developed a problem.any idea how? If you format it in your phone I think it will also default based on size, <64 is fat32, >=64 is exfat Oh yeah, @ccgenius reply, if you are on XP, you will need the SDXC driver update. It should be built in on Win7 and later. And also, some readers DO NOT support exfat even after the SDXC update. This post has been edited by joytest: Dec 27 2012, 06:15 PM |

What about camera? can it compare to Iphone? i like Iphone camera and view cam function p/s : using Iphone 4s Anyway, what is "view cam" function ? The remote monitoring app? Android has plenty. Added on December 27, 2012, 6:24 pm QUOTE(dotaallstarz @ Dec 27 2012, 06:21 PM) tried formating using note 2.. but still is in fat32 It could be a hardcoded limitation of both the phone and OS to detect per the conditions I stated above.hmm.. then maybe need get new card reader the microsd card is 32gb only... but would like to use it to transfer file more than 4gb What is your OS and card reader model? Do a search to see if it supports. I bought my Transcend card reader about 5 years ago and it supports exfat read and format on my 64gb card under Win7. I mean, it's been a feature of camera phones since...2004???? iphone came mid 2007? And they marketed the hell out of its "magical and unique" features....and people just swallow it hook line and sinker as if only iphone has those features.....Facetime...HD video calling????Come on out under the spell that crapple has cast upon you all..... If less than 15%, IMHO not worth the time to do it since I charge my phone every night.anyone care to share their uv setting? my 200mhz is = 750mV I posted earlier that Note2 handles NFS:MW with cores at 1GHz and it's not even breaking a sweat. |

QUOTE(antzz @ Dec 27 2012, 08:50 PM) Yeah but i just come to that after i did Clockworkmod Recovery & Backup Current Rom. Any idea if it may harm anytime in future? Or any idea of how to undo it? Use CWM to make a nandroid backup of your rom then uninstall ROM Manager. Read up a bit more on chainfire's posts then you can have some peace of mind. I've not used ROM Manager from day 1 coz I read the CWM posts before doing stuff back in Note1 days. If you're paranoid, use CWM to perform a full and complete clean (cache, dalvik, factory reset) and flash in a new rom. Of coz please download the rom to your sd card first. Or maybe use PC Odin, caveat is that read a bit more first. Added on December 27, 2012, 9:06 pm QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Dec 27 2012, 08:54 PM) Try " Google " or use the " search " button below . QUOTE(muharrik @ Dec 27 2012, 09:15 PM) can note 2 do data mining, work at word, excel, powerpoint?? can i depends only to this smart phablet to do assignments. without depending on laptop?? Data mining I don't know, maybe if you wrote an app for it as a front end to your data warehouse engine you could. There are MS OFfice compatible apps you could use, but it will be difficult to work on the small screen without HDMI output to a large monitor, with a keyboard and mouse. Since I think you're a grad student with a programming/compsci curriculum, we invite you to try and provide us some data points for our conjecture. QUOTE(antzz @ Dec 27 2012, 09:33 PM) Yeah i did. When i try to run cwm (up+power+home button right?), there's no backup/restore option. I think the rom manager team want us to use their app to the fullest, maybe. tar. Can i try ODIN to recover normal CWM again? I have these .tar files cwm-root-note2.tar.md5 cwm6-recovery-n7100-121014.tar Which one to use? » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « the md5 file is just a plaintext of the md5 file signature of the tar file. |
