Any good 8++W PSU? Currently using Corsair HX850 (already 8year+) , going to replace it soon.
*
Super Flower Leadex Gold 850W at RM649 from C-Zone. Another option is Seasonic Focus+ 850W at RM679 from C-Zone if you want full Japanese caps.

I was using the Silverstone strider plus 500w for 3 years until lately the PC randomly shuts off. Not sure what's the reason but decided to get a new PSU. I got the Seasonic focus plus 750w gold import from US and the random shut off solved. I guess its time to retire Silverstone.
*
Any electronics has age. Japanese parts tends to last longer. Silverstone Strider 500W is on the budget side of things. Better grade 500ish is Seasonic S12 II 520W at RM265 from C-Zone. High grade 550W is Super Flower Leadex Gold 550W at RM429.

Power supply price is usually you get what you pay for. Check for reviews before buying. There are a few conman brands.

Please stay away from Seasonic PSU, their PSU got a lot of problems.

I got S12 II 520W with no issue. Still using it after 4 years. I also have Antec HCG-520M which is also Seasonic M12 II inside and still no issue.

Since I less on OC-ing, I had checked the voltage, if 700-750W still can handle my rig. Others than that two brand , got any choices? how about Cooler Master .
*
Check the model for V750. Seasonic based blows Enhance away. Check the model number before buying.

You are lucky 🙂

Yeah, I got Seasonic X-760 that is still alive after 6 years. I removed it just to test Super Flower Leadex Gold 750W. Didnt switch back because I'm making use of available warranty.

QUOTE(nieash @ Apr 20 2018, 04:41 PM)
hi, have a question.
i am using Xigmatek Tauro 500W PSU for 3years plus already.
recently i tried power on my computer, the motherboard running but nothing shows up on monitor, not even bios.

i disconnected the cable on my Optical drive and my PC can turn on.

i check online and suspected my PSU aging capacitor will deteriorate over time right?

i calculate power supply using Outervision and my Load wattage is about 470Watt.

should i change new PSU/ higher Watt?
*
Yeah, change it. Xigmatek Tauro is one of the shit quality PSUs.

Corsair TX 650M without questions. It has the best price/performance at this level.

Guys, which one of these you guys prefer?

1)Super Flower Silver Eco 500W Full Modular 80+ PSU=rm248
2)Seasonic S12Ii-520=RM269
*
Seasonic S12ii is known for using full Japanese caps. It can last longer. Super Flower is 80+ Silver certified and fully modular though.

Full Japanese caps doesn't always mean better longevity.  The problem is the Seasonic S12II is based on an older platform, i.e. group regulated and double-forward design.  This makes it unsuitable for modern machines icon_idea.gif

https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/858096...or-later-years/
It's also worth noting that Super Flower is the OEM behind some of the best PSUs in the market icon_idea.gif

I'm running i7-6700T and Gigabyte Z170 Ultra Gaming with 1 graphic card. No issue for Seasonic M12 II(same parts as S12 II) 520W.

2 years past the warranty. Still kicking. Japanese caps helps the PSU last longer.

Super Flower Platform has Japanese caps too. Only the modular board isn't.

Modular board has very low load and the caps are polymer so it's not that much of a concern icon_idea.gif

Super Flower is a tier 1 PSU maker (at the same level with Seasonic), and I highly doubt they will use some very low grade components on the modular PCB icon_idea.gif

Also modular cables are great for keeping your case internals as tidy as possible, especially in smaller cases icon_idea.gif
*
Yes, they did put low grade caps. Its Crapxon!

Which one should i get
Super flower eco silver 600w
Or
Super flower leadex silver 550w
Or
Cooler master masterwatt 550w

All price are around my budget. But im more to full modular as i using matx casing.
*
Leadex Silver (non Eco). Or you can increase budget for Corsair TX 650M. It stomps all the PSUs at this price range.

Is there a way to check the real time amount of wattage my pc is drawing?

You need to buy the wall socket tester from electronic shop.

QUOTE(IcyDarling @ Nov 28 2018, 10:06 AM)
Hey guys, so i recently bought a pre built pc that comes with a Deepcool DA700 power supply unit  (link below ) but the cable for power adapter it comes with is not for Malaysian power socket.

Im assuming in terms of compatiblity power wise it should not be a problem. But I want to buy another power supply adapter that can fit into a Malaysian socket.

My question is, is there any specification I need to be aware of? In terms of voltage or whatnot?

http://www.deepcool.com/product/powersuppl...02/34_792.shtml
Thanks a lot in advance for your help
*
Majority of the PSU sold here is compatible. Just that it depends how much you are willing to spend. You get what you pay for the same power level. 500W at RM350 definitely will stomp 500W at RM150 due to hardware quality, significantly better performance and cleaner electricity.

I intend to keep the power supply unit. Just looking to replace to power cable from PSU to electrical socket. Worried that there are some specs that I need to take note of. The power supply is working, but I can't bear to always needing a universal adapter to plug into the socket  wink.gif
*
DA700 is 100-240V. Yes, you can even change the cable to use our socket.

hye, izzit safe to use pcie 6 pin to 8 pin adapter to power up RX580.
im using Silverstone ST56 560W which only have 2x pcie 6 pin.
*
Shouldn't have issue. Your PSU is old though. May be weaker.

Existing Rig:
I5-6400
1x8GB DDR Ram
1x1TB HDD
Corsair VS450
Without, CD-Rom, SSD, or others.
Can I add on 1050ti or 1060 with existing VS450?
Or I needed to upgrade PSU?
Thank you
*
No issue. Those Sub RM200 PSUs are low grade though.

recently bought the Coolermaster MWE 650W.
if anyone got question you can ask me if anyone consider before buying

first impression:
- quiet and doesn't get too hot.
- quite compact for 650w

Here. the review:
https://www.kitguru.net/components/power-su...-supply-review/

Looks like Tier 4 (D grade) PSU.

evga 650w g+ gold
vs
super flower leadex ii 650w gold
which is a better buy?
both price is similar..tq
*
Both under same platform. Super Flower is the OEM.

Seasonic Focus Plus 650W and Corsair TX650M is better than them when it comes to performance.

Hi guys, I am clueless about power voltage stuff and I am moving to Japan for long term and I have a desktop, using Corsair GS600 and I wonder if it works in Japan due to difference of voltage?

Is it better to buy a new PC there or should I bring mine over to Japan (assuming if the voltage can work fine)
*
Yes, it will work. Input voltage for GS600 is 94 to 264V
