Thanks.

And If I were to buy a new laptop it is better to buy one from Malaysia and bring to Japan right. If I am not wrong Malaysian laptop work in Japan but laptop bought in Japan can't be used in Malaysia because of the high voltage. Correct me if I am wrong.
*
Laptop is different story and not sure. It depends on the adapter. Check the input voltage.

TristanX The upcoming Seasonic S12III is actually one of the first Seasonic-branded PSUs that are not manufactured by Seasonic themselves:

That isnt good.

I'm building a new pc. Please suggest between SF leadex ii gold 650 or Corsair rmx650 which one is better and more reliable.
*
Corsair TX650M is better than that 2. Not fully modular though. Another option is Seasonic Focus Plus.

Hi, I am planning to change my PSU as my current Super Flower Silver Eco 550w has buzzing issue, want to RMA it but will take a long time.

I am using Ryzen 5 2600 + RX 470, not a gamer but I know a good PSU is a must have. I have 3 HDD with important files inside so I cannot afford my PSU to screw up my PC.

My budget is around RM300, currently thinking about the Corsair CX550M. Is there a better choice at this price range? Don't need modular but I want to look for the best PSU in malaysia at RM300+-. Thanks in advance smile.gif
*
Less budget is less quality. No best PSU on sale for us at the moment.

Hmm then if I bump up my budget a little, what is the minimum recommendation from you at price between 300-400?
*
You should be able to get Corsair TX650M at RM400 if you haggle for the prices.

How about EVGA G+ 850W? sure its OEM is FSP but it is a good unit. I am using one right now and its pretty good. Plus, if I remember correctly, EVGA G+ 850w and 1000w does not have capacitors in their cables (750W and below have it). This means that if you want to get custom made cables you don't have to worry much about whether the lack of  capacitors will affect the PSU performance.
*
You already bought it. Just use it.
https://www.gamingscan.com/psu-hierarchy/

Please also take note Super Flower Leadex based platform is at the bottom of top tier due to 2nd tier caps on modular board.

QUOTE(hustlerism @ Aug 19 2019, 12:38 AM)
Guys, are there any reliable power supply for 500W that is cheap (around RM1xx)?

My old FSP Hexa 500W which is already 7 years+ is so noisy now.
*
Quality comes with the price. High quality electronic parts inside power supply does not come cheap. Most quality models will use Japanese capacitors. They are top quality.

Also, a RM400 650W weight is heavier than RM150 650W.

QUOTE(hustlerism @ Aug 19 2019, 08:33 AM)
What about the newer version of FSP Hexa?
*
Just buy it. I think FSP is still the best low budget PSU.

Hi guys. Need some advice here.

My computer has stop working after I do room cleaning the computer won’t boot up after that. Keep on restart without going to main windows.

After several tried with remove the gpu. It can be boot in to the system and windows. So I have also brought a new gpu to test the system. It can’t be work as well. After removing that gpu. It is working with lagging movement when I plug into motherboard graphic card

Need some advice. Is that my motherboard or psi issue?

P/s : before this it is working well without any issue.

This is not problem solving thread. Its here

https://forum.lowyat.net/TechnicalSupport

Check all the connectors and tighten it. Reinstall the RAM.

And what is the full PC spec? That is if you want PSU recommendation.

the life span of the psu is not just caps lah..
is what your h/w can handle
for example, OVER clOCK case
as, a forummer sold a p45 neo 3 fr to me, many yrs back
the smell of the board, like fried chicken that is overcook
A new bie with no exp at o.cing a system will damage a lot of parts, ler..
& Tq, for the reply , bro tristanxx

You were talking about Japanese caps. LOL

Yes, build quality of the hardware also matters. There is a reason why top brands tries to get perfect 10 on build quality.

according to czone pricing corsair 750w is also the same price, would you recommend this or still the super flower one? how about silverstone et gold 750w priced at 339 and gs gold 439?
*
Super Flower has dual 8-pin for the CPU.

Silverstone PSUs has nothing to shout about for the performance.

why AMD?

my first rig was a AMD...cpu blew up ^^
went for intel ever since. peace of mind.

low powered cpu not good? save electricity/more efficient/less heat biggrin.gif or i am wrong?
well i am not a gamer, dont see why need a fast processor....just like my i5-3570k back then...tot was going for some casual gaming but end up din really play games biggrin.gif except some flash games
*
That usually caused by poor quality components. Usually bad motherboard or power supply which you cannot completely blame AMD.

AMD produced crappy CPUs on Intel Sandy Bridge to Kaby Lake days. Its the turning point since Ryzen came out. Intel continues overcharging people for their CPUs these days. AMD gives you better price/performance. You still need to watch what you buy. Some motherboard models are crap.

Looking at a new build nw. I have a msi b450m coming in soon. Looking to build a 3700X rig with that. Was scouring the net (Lazada and shopee) on PSU.

There was 2 PSU that caught my attention. One was the 1stplayer Steampunk 650w and the other was the xpg core reactor 650w.

Anyone has any experience with these units/brands?
*
Steampunk? Free also I don't want.

XPG Core Reactor is better and different class. Like miles better.

Ahh thanks for the input. Yeah read that the XPG is pretty good. After I went through this thread, the gigabyte P650B also might be worth considering.

Any other PSU would you recommend I do more research on?
*
FSP for around the same price point. Unless you wanna spend more. Seasonic Focus GX, Corsair RMx, Super Flower Leadex III Gold are great.

Hi, I need some PSU opinion for upcoming ampere 750W. I shortlisted 750W gold plus models from major brands mostly RM5xx. If 850w, RM6xx. Not sure if should direct get 850W?
1. Corsair RM750
2. Superflower leadex 750w
3. Coolermaster CM V750w
4. Thermaltake GF1 ARGB 750w
5. EVGA supernova 750 G2
6. Asus ROG STRIX 750g (this the only model above RM6xx but i super like the design).

Which one are good and bad?
*
Corsair. Seasonic Focus GX, Super Flower is great. I'm not spoonfeeding overpriced brand like Asus.

FSP is a reliable OEM brand, my HV Pro been running since 2022 til now, but I guess things happen and maybe theres other factors as high end PSU have lotsa protection b4 it can blow. Was the PC connected to a UPS or AVR?
*
I can fully trust FSP. I still have FSP Hexa 500W still going strong on low power rig. Using FSP Hydro Ti Pro 1000W on my main rig.
