Priced too close to a M12II... laugh.gif

Anyway, forget getting this model, and go straight to a M12II 520W - It has Active PFC, full Japanese caps, and possibly better built. icon_idea.gif

Hi guys, I recently bought the Sapphire 6950 1GB from the ipmart sale. Tried to plug it into my computer and it wouldn't boot up. I think my current power supply is inadequate and i would like to upgrade it. I would like to ask you guys about what power supply unit should I get as i'm not that familiar with PSU's.

Yeah, that's not a good PSU. Look for Seasonic M12 II Evo 520W at RM279 or Seasonic S12 II 620W at RM299. You need PSU with more stamina for "high end" (mid range for current gen) cards.

Don't see any issue there unless you wanna overclock.

USB 3.0 card requires PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot and you need to connect additional power to it.

Ya I already connect additional power for it. It seems that windows can detect it in Device Manager, but whenever I plug in my USB 3.0 devices, it does't light up.

The motherboard spec does not tell you whether if it is PCIE 2.0 or not. Try putting it on 2nd PCIE x16 slot.

I don't think have 2nd PCIE x16 slot to put because my Asus STRIX GTX970 has occupied the space

Ok. I guess you can try bringing the USB 3.0 card to your friend's PC and see if it works or not.

Definitely your low quality PSU will struggle.
