No reviews, but seems like it could be a decent unit if it gets properly reviewed (seems like made by Great Wall, probably based on a Corsair CX platform?):

https://www.expreview.com/77404.html

But IMHO you can get better PSUs for slightly more, for example the MWE Gold v2/NZXT C650:

hello,
need recommendation for full modular psu.

my pc spec
ryzen 5 3600
gtx 1660 super

budget around 300 - 350
thanks.

Do you need full modular cables? IMHO there's really not much point spending extra for full modular cables since you still need to plug in the cables for CPU/motherboard power icon_idea.gif

For this budget, these should fit the bill quite nicely:

Either the MWE Gold v2 650W or the NZXT C650 (made by Seasonic, based on their Focus platform), if you are willing to up your budget a bit more icon_idea.gif

The TUF Gaming Bronze are also great choices as well icon_idea.gif

Paging chocobo7779 the PSU god,

My CM MWE Gold v2 just died after 6 months for no apparent reason lol.
Thinking of either getting the Super Flower Leadex III Bronze Pro 750W or the NZXT C750, then resell the RMA unit once it comes back.

What are your thoughts? Price at 369 and ~450 respectively.
*
The C750 is better (the Leadex III Bronze Pro appears to be a cost down variant of their older Golden King platform), but it's based on the Seasonic Focus platform which may have problems handling high transient power GPUs like the RTX3080 or the RX6800XT sweat.gif

High-end Ampere/RDNA 2 GPUs are known for their power spikes, so go for those instead:

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/enermax-...bkF9BA&search=1

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/msi-mpg-...0HVzz4&search=1 (similar platform as the Enermax unit recommended earlier)

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/adata-xp...Z5igXU&search=1

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/corsair-...m2uvNl&search=1

The Revolution DF or the A750GF are the best of the lot out there icon_idea.gif

TQ. I have a gt1030 which require no power pin but rely on board power, is 450w OK? Currently using stock 550w.
Ok for me to buy this one or any cheaper PSU under RM50 for temporary or a backup?

Yes, the Cougar GX-S will handle it just fine (heck you can power some midrange gaming cards with it) icon_idea.gif

Never skimp on the PSU unless you want a ticking time bomb in your PC icon_idea.gif

The Cougar GX-S is a huge step up over the two PSUs you've mentioned icon_idea.gif

Always go for quality, not wattage icon_idea.gif

Hi, i am looking for a PSU that comes with bronze 80 certified, full modular, sleeved cables and at least 5 yrs warranty, 500w above.

Appreciate if anyone know which brand and model has this requirement?

TQ
*
Do you need full modularity? Unless you are going custom cables a semimodular one is fine as well since you still need to use some cables like the 24 pin ATX connector icon_idea.gif

Something like the Corsair RM650? hmm.gif

Just double checked with LTT forum's PSU tier list, looks like I'll be getting either the Enermax or MSI A750GF. Sadly the availability, especially for the Rev DF (and MSI also to an extent) is so bad online, only few vendors have stock (and not applicable for Shopee cashback either sad.gif  )

Also, would you recommend both these over the RM750 (non-X)? Priced similarly.

Thinking of upgrading to 5600x or potential 8 core non-X somewhere down the line, 750W still a safe bet?
*
The Enermax/MSI ones are better than the RM750 icon_idea.gif

Do note that if you intend to buy the RM750, get the gray labeled one like this:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Pr...p/CP-9020195-NA
or this one (the 2021 model)
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Pr...p/CP-9020233-NA

SKU model for the RM gray: CP-9020195-UK

There is an EOL'd orange label one which is inferior to the two mentioned earlier:
https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Pr...p/CP-9020054-NA (shouldn't be sold here anymore since it's an old unit)

somehow after i unplug and plug in the psu 20+4 pin then it will work for a few days. does this mean my psu is going gg soon?

any good psu recommendation? budget around 300-500. very old com, still running gtx970.

Might be better to test the PSU first before buying a new PSU:

If you insist of upgrading or replacing the PSU, those should be great choices:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/fractal-...sX70k3&search=1 (might be overkill for a 970)

https://www.lazada.com.my/products/super-fl...8sOdim&search=1 (can be a bit large since 160mm length, and note the aggressive fan profile of the PSU)

Sifus, need an advice about a final piece of hardware for a rebuilt of my brother's 7 years old pc. So far i have most of the parts i have except PSU.

Intel i3-10105F
Asus Prime B460M-A
Reused Zotac GTX1060 3GB
ID-Cooling SE-224 XT

Listed out parts that consume power(?). Left over budget around 250, any quality PSU that have enough juices to power the rig for let's say 5 years on light gaming, and some emulation/web surfing. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yes, a 1060 is not a power hungry card to begin with icon_idea.gif

Which 650W Cougar unit? Cougar is a consumer brand of HEC/Compucase, which is a rather well-known PSU manufacturer that also manufactures some EVGA/Corsair PSUs icon_idea.gif

Some of their PSUs are actually fine (like the GX-S/GEX/GX-F), but their entry level models like the BXM/VTX/XTC/VTE are pretty mediocre icon_idea.gif

That being said, it might be better to state your current PC hardware so that we can make a better recommendation wink.gif

What's the common opinion on buying 2nd hand psu, not knowing it's history whether it been used on mining unit or not? hmm.gif
*
It's hard to tell, but do make sure not to buy those cheap 1000W+ PSUs, like these:

https://www.f14lab.org/2018/03/review-xigma...iner-1800w.html

https://www.f14lab.org/2018/03/review-andys...-plus-1350.html

If you see 1000W+ PSUs for something like RM200-300 then it's very likely those are low quality mining PSUs, or a heavily used one icon_idea.gif

Alternatively, stick to a new PSU, as a good one can be had for around RM300-400, and it will happily handle a lot of PC builds (depending on quality, of course) icon_idea.gif

What exact PSU make and model? Some multirail PSUs may not like daisy chaining cables as it may cause overcurrent protection to kick in icon_idea.gif

Was looking at the following
Price from low to higher

CM MWE Gold v2 650w
Evga GA gold 650w
Corsair RM650

Or wan cheaper solution just hentam non modular CM MWE 650w...

Mainly need upvrade is becos i need 2 seperated 8 pin pcie for gpu.
*
The Corsair RM650 is the best of the lot, followed by the MWE Gold v2 (the V series v2 is a step up from the MWE v2) and the EVGA GA being the last - note that the EVGA GA is not recommended for nVidia Ampere cards due to the PSU can shut itself down due to transient power spikes from RTX3000 GPUs icon_idea.gif

Found in shopee
Rm650 rm411
Mwe gold v2 rm365

Do u think it is best to go full modular?
Mwe bronze v2 rm225
*
The Bronze v2 isn't that much of an upgrade over your current unit, the RM650 is a much more substantial upgrade over the MWE Bronze v2 (Tier C -> Tier A) icon_idea.gif

Make sure to get the black label one, like this:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/corsair-...ATyup6&search=1

...not the old orange label one, like this:
https://images.app.goo.gl/332Yw6c5tRMt7HjV9

If you do not need full modular cables, then there are plenty of options out there icon_idea.gif

Hi sifu,

want to ask that want to upgrade my psu 1st for future to upgrade my gtx 1070 to rtx 3080 ti graphic card.

which psu to go is more better ?
budget currently thinking is rm 1k

1. SUPERFLOWER Leadex Platinum SE 80 Plus Platinum Full Modular Power Supply 1000W
2. EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W G+ 80 Plus Gold Full Modular PSU
*
The Leadex Platinum is better simply because it has LLC+DC-DC, rather than the ACRF primary on the EVGA (the ACRF design on the EVGA can lead to things like coil whine on high transient power GPUs like the 3080Ti, due to hard switching), but the Super Flower has no proper reviews so might be better to pick another one icon_idea.gif

However the Leadex Platinum SE is listed as a Tier A PSU, so it might be fine icon_idea.gif

Also I think the G+ is EOL'ed, if the tier list is correct hmm.gif

...also do you really need 1kW PSUs? You can power something like an entry level HEDT build with it sweat.gif

For RM1K - there are better choices out there, like this:
https://www.lazada.com.my/products/corsair-...731297c11I&mp=1

IMHO a 850W unit should be fine for your machine, and the 3080Ti isn't worth it pricing-wise (the vanilla 3080 is better) icon_idea.gif
