QUOTE(droidtrix @ Dec 10 2012, 03:27 PM) Rule of thumb Out of 100 maybe 8-13 set might got defect so it will 13% so, sales already hit millions, just do own calculation Even if it 1% of total worldwide sales (around 300K).. Samsung surely will issue some sort of statement about it. Like I said..I believe all this is totally random... can happen to any phone no matter made from where or which batch. (Maybe earlier batch might have higher chances to go kaput based on some unofficial observations) But again..nothing official whatsoever so we might as well stop any speculation. Just my two bronze cents

QUOTE(droidtrix @ Dec 10 2012, 03:52 PM) You are right bro, there is no official statement from Samsung regards to this issue, what I meant in my statement is the The General Rule of Thumb for every electronics devices that are produced/manufactured (no matter what devices are). Therefore, there are some device out there in rest of the world of which is not reported or the end user do not want to highlight ... Normally I don't speculate because this is electronics device, we never know when the devices give give way (dead)... Is it true General Rule of Thumb that 8-13 out of 100 have some sort of defect. .? Wow..that really sucks and the count is huge if put on S3 sales volume. Roughly around 3 millions handphones.

QUOTE(reijikageyama @ Dec 11 2012, 05:13 PM) dafuq u tokking about? is the flaming necessary? Not flamming..once lost efs/imei or emmc corrupt then nothing can be done unless you have the efs/imei backup for restore. Otherwise you need to go to service centre

Downgrading between upgrades always troublesome. Usually went into bootloop. Safest way is doing a Nandroid before upgrades. Keep that Nandroid backup safe. Incase you not satisfied with the new upgrades then you can easily downgrade back by restore your Nandroid instead of flashing a downgrade firmware.

QUOTE(angkhian @ Dec 11 2012, 08:46 PM) Hi all, wanna ask, if phone got stolen, is there a way to block the phone from being used? Even though it's sold, at least can stop the phone from being used so easily. No..i dont think so. You can delete all you data remotely but to immobilize the phone..cannot.

QUOTE(afiqq13 @ Dec 11 2012, 09:54 PM) No need to flame bro. I do have the same situation as you where the green light is automatically off. Well I think it has a safety feature where when you overcharge it will cut off the power. So I guess overcharge will lead to the damage of the mobo is busted. It is true what reneshi said that we need to say based on facts so until we here from samsung then only we will know what is wrong. yup..yup..like i said before..refrain from giving false information and stop speculating till we have Samsung official statement.

QUOTE(dopp @ Dec 14 2012, 08:40 AM) i finished charging my phone at around 11pm unplug, check no apps running. When I woke up this morning at 7am, (not using fone as alarm). My battery is at 80%.. standby use 20% overnight?? I have juice defender free edition installed. Is this normal for android? My iphone 4 idle overnight use less than 5%. Install BetterBatteryStats app and start monitor which apps keep your phone from deep sleep.

QUOTE(Andrewtst @ Dec 15 2012, 06:54 PM) Still working, but Samsung did something this time! It is well talk at XDA, all phone return from service center once root will appear a red dot (I think it is this ! symbol) on top left corner when you on the phone. Could you please pass me the xda link bout that red dot on the top left corner coz I intend to root my friend phone..don't want to mess up if Samsung pulls out another trick just to discourage us from rooting. Thanks
