E398-u15/E392-u21/MF680/K5005 which is fastest on DC-HSPA+ ? am planning to get one for use on maxis, since my old modem spoilt. Reading thru this thread, seems like even if we got LTE modem we won't be able to register/joint the network..

Just now I learn that there a bunch types of HUAWEI E398, that are:

Mine is HUAWEI E398u-1, with 2 connectors for external antenna.
I need help on your expertise to detect which one is the correct source 

P/S: you should take the picture of your HUAWEI E398 model, written near the sim card place, at put it on your 1st post.

Which one is correct? 

If what you said, U1 dont support 1800 is correct, then it seems Maxis LTE at my home is 1800Mhz and at my office is 2600 Mhz.
Thats why I cannot registed LTE at my home 

For the doubters of E398, it can be auto detected on a OpenWRT router with ease.

However, i have a doubt. I order for E398-U15 but i received Vodafone K5005 which is consider a different batch of product as mentioned by youself in page 1.

Q : What is the difference for Huawei E398 and Vodafone K5005
A : Huawei E398 is E398. Vodafone K5005 is K5005. Both different batch of product.
I am retailing Huawei E398-U15 Vodafone Rebranded, the best batch of E398 available


Am i getting different item? How do I checked?

Secondly, the contain for the box should be:

Package Content : Original retail packaging + user manual + low loss USB extension (E398 only)

But i do not have the USB extention.

Thirdly, the box was opened before? For testing purpose?

Everytime I tried to connect, error dialog will popup up "Error 623: The system could not find the phone book entry for this connection"
