Maxis and Celcom LTE with E398.

[attachmentid=3379621]

But I still can't connect.

Hi bro, looks like in order to connect to LTE you need to get this kind of SIM

A member able to get LTE activated with his Talkmore 75 plan at Maxis TTDI centre, his current SIM card is exchanged to this new one with 2 gold strips. You need to discuss a bit with the CS there as he face many problem when request to get LTE.

Hi bro, Huawei E392 batch U21 is temporary out of stock or I should say temporary extinct smile.gif

Multi-mode modem is selling like hot cakes, be sure to choose the right one, not every E392 is multi-mode

E398-u15/E392-u21/MF680/K5005 which is fastest on DC-HSPA+ ? am planning to get one for use on maxis, since my old modem spoilt. Reading thru this thread, seems like even if we got LTE modem we won't be able to register/joint the network..
*
You can register to the LTE network if you get your SIM activated with Maxis

Just now I learn that there a bunch types of HUAWEI E398, that are:
HUAWEI E398u-1
HUAWEI E398u-11
HUAWEI E398u-15
HUAWEI E398u-18
HUAWEI E398s-81
Vodafone K5005

sos:
http://www.4gltemall.com/huawei-e398-4g-lt...-surfstick.html
http://mobilebroadband.altervista.org/blog...8u-15-e398u-18/

Mine is HUAWEI E398u-1, with 2 connectors for external antenna.
I need help on your expertise to detect which one is the correct source  icon_question.gif

P/S: you should take the picture of your HUAWEI E398 model, written near the sim card place, at put it on your 1st post.
TQ  biggrin.gif

I know the technical spec for all of these

Let me point out the different for you.
U1 is the most basic and most usual available, performance < U15
U18 is the most useless, only 1 antenna port and 1 build in antenna
S version is for TDD.
U11 don't really largely exist. Hard to hunt

4gltemall: HUAWEI E398u-1: 4G LTE FDD -- 900/1800/2100/2600 Mhz
mobilebroadband: HUAWEI E398u-1 :  4G LTE FDD  900/2600 Mhz

Which one is correct?  rclxub.gif

If what you said, U1 dont support 1800 is correct, then it seems Maxis LTE at my home is 1800Mhz and at my office is 2600 Mhz.
Thats why I cannot registed LTE at my home  cry.gif
*
Wrong, if your modem can't support 1800Mhz and tower only broadcast in 1800Mhz you can even able to detect smile.gif

For the doubters of E398, it can be auto detected on a OpenWRT router with ease.

Hi bro, i received the items today.

However, i have a doubt. I order for E398-U15 but i received Vodafone K5005 which is consider a different batch of product as mentioned by youself in page 1.

Q : What is the difference for Huawei E398 and Vodafone K5005
A : Huawei E398 is E398. Vodafone K5005 is K5005. Both different batch of product.
I am retailing Huawei E398-U15 Vodafone Rebranded, the best batch of E398 available

Am i getting different item? How do I checked?

Secondly, the contain for the box should be:

Package Content : Original retail packaging + user manual + low loss USB extension (E398 only)

But i do not have the USB extention.

Thirdly, the box was opened before? For testing purpose?

Please clarify.

Launch mobile partner from your computer and see what is written @ device information

Open the chassis and see what is laser engraved at the PCB, I believe it is more convincing than what is written on the box.

Every box is opened, personally tested, tweaked and optimized to ensure the maximum performance for my client. I can seal it for you if you want, I got plenty of seal here.

It is under the cardboard, if you still can't found it, you can always PM me and I will surely send one for you wink.gif

ZTE is still poor on this + very limited ZTE customization doh.gif

Should I bring in Sierra again laugh.gif Sierra is weak on 3G but amazing on LTE.

I might play with some E3276 soon

Firstly you need to get LTE activated with your SIM card which it is impossible now as Digi haven't announced any LTE plans except there's a loophole brows.gif
