Do you mind sharing where u got that fact sheet from? I would like to clarify this with him. thanks btw !
The one stated in my contact is as follow:
[attachmentid=11161878]

My friend mentioned that all fees will come out from the 5% at the beginning (5% of the total value given in the beginning is deducted for fees and insurance etc, the remaining 95% is whats invested)
*
After clicking at the earlier link...
Click the 3 lines at the top right hand side.
Click the investment link fund fact sheet (see image)
See page 29

Also do take note,... It seems like this is an investment linked products.... Have to pay monthly insurance charges, cannot buy on Yr own, highly focused fund.. Very high risk fund

🤔🤔 See the printed note: it has "WARNING" words to warn you.
What you see is not what you will get for Yr ilp product??

Hi guys, is unit trust still a good investment tool in current market? Recently been approach by UOB and they are offering me their Great dragon and global fund tied with prudential, telling me their pass record of 7 to 10 percent return after deduct their fee.
*
Currently starting unit trust investment NOW is definitely better than if started 2 yrs ago.
Just not sure if starting now would be better than if starts 2 yrs later from now too.

Just be aware of the sales charges when you buy from them. There are platforms that charged much less.

Just do take note that: Past performance is not indicative of future performance.

They are offering fund spread out 3 years of DCA method, according to them the charges is 2.6percent of total fund and 1.5 percent of profit annually.

Or should I set up FSM account and invest?
*
With that kind of amount of charges,.... Just go for FSM for ut investment would be my preferred option between that n fsm

what is the legit rate if agent handling the fund for me?
*
If for purchase unit trust funds,... Then max % would have been spelled out in the fund factsheet or prospectus.
Just not sure if it was for special individualised private fund management arrangement

QUOTE(frankzane @ Sep 3 2022, 08:00 AM)
Hi, would like to get some advice here. In my early days of investment, I bought all sorts of 'Asia' funds. eg. China fund, Far East fund, Asia Pac fund, Asia fund not knowing the diversification principles.

Now that I want to consolidate my 'Asia' funds. Most of these funds would consist players like Alibaba, Tencent, Taiwan Semiconductor, Meituan, Nvidia, Google, etc.

So my question is does the weightage of these equities in each of the fund matters? Because now there are many overlaps (having the same companies in every fund) that I wanted to dispose some of the funds, but not knowing which to choose.

Any advice is appreciated.
*
hope my maths and my thinking is ok....

if your portfolio has that 3 funds but they consisted of 30% of your port
that means IF you have RM100k in investment and out of that RM100k, RM30k (30%) are in that 3 funds

if each of the 3 funds has same 25% allocations into Tech stock that consisted of the same players like Alibaba, Tencent, Taiwan Semiconductor, Meituan, Nvidia, Google, etc.
that means just 25% of that RM30k or just RM7.5k is into Tech stock that consisted of players like Alibaba, Tencent, Taiwan Semiconductor, Meituan, Nvidia, Google, etc.

7.5k out of 100k is just 7.5% of your portfolio is into Tech stock which would consist players like Alibaba, Tencent, Taiwan Semiconductor, Meituan, Nvidia, Google, etc.
are you still not OK with this 7.5% allocation?

Yes, your maths was right. But I was thinking to dispose some of the funds that has overlaps. Assuming each fund has different weightage for each companies, which fund should best be kept?
*
from my earlier example,
if you really think that it is too much to have 7.5% of your total port into tech sector
you can try reduce it,....
(may not be correct as this is just a usual non qualified suggestion.)
if you liked, you can perhaps base them on the "worst" performing funds out of the 3 funds you are having.
maybe perhaps compared them side by side against similar duration period,...ex: 3mths, 6mths, 1yr, 3 yrs and 5 yrs.?

i just read this just now,...

thus just a cautious note to all unit trust funds promoters or seller of any kind of CIS products.

your buyer can sue you for "deceiving/tricking", just not sure of the exact details presented that lead the buyer into buying it.

https://www.astroawani.com/berita-malaysia/...elaburan-380235

https://www.msn.com/en-my/news/national/bus...54366fd031ff2ac

this PIOF is just an example of this current case,...if the buyer wins the case,...then more funds from other fund houses can be next.

The man allegedly deceived Datin Seri Alauyah Jaafar, 58, by tricking the victim into a unit trust investment promising high returns, which prompted the victim to hand over a RM150,000 cheque made to the account of the accused's company.
The offence was believed to have been committed at a restaurant in a shopping centre at 7pm on April 25, 2017, (refer to the image for the performance then,...)

anyone got "insider" information to share abt the "tricking" case?

I see.

I had one principal agent tried to pull me into their UT. The only setback for me was the fee (8%)

For total newbie, better to go for low risk investments?
*
Which principal ut fund charged 8% sales charge?
I thought max is only 5-5.5% sales charge only?
Can try DIY platform from

https://www.fsmone.com.my/

Charged only about less than 2%sc for equity funds.
Contact their client investment specialist to determine what is your "low risk" investment really mean.

Hi newbie here, not sure where to post, seeking opinions.

Agent switch out my funds to below funds without my knowledge with forged records:

Eastspring Investments Dana Al-ilham
AmGlobal Agribusiness Fund
European Equity Alpha
RHB Gold And General Fund
Manulife Shariah India Equity Fund - A (RM) Class

No clear profit/loss yet, some transactions still under clearing process. My question:

(1) What can I do?
(2) In the event that damage is already done, are these 5 funds considered 'ok' ?

I am still fairly unclear whether there are more untold misconduct done by this agent such as cash out my funds to his personal account etc, is it possible? Gonna call the platform next week for help.
*
Which platform is that?

Phillip Mutual, I registered everything myself here, but apparently there is another platform which is linked to this for agent side or something FAME, the agent created a login there without my knowledge which is linked to my PM account and did the transaction there  ranting.gif
*
If you did not gives prior consent in any signed form, ....then can complaint.
But if you did signed any form or forms with "small" prints that authorised the "agent/company" to manage it for you, (something like managed account) then, .... nothing wrong.

Did they charge you for each moving/switching of funds?
Some "agent" made additional commission from these sales charges or switching charges. They charge by EACH fund, each time.

Did not sign anything, did not authorize the agent to do anything, the agent admit wrongdoings is for commission.

Unsure about the charges as I am still figuring out, the agent said no charges.
*
If no charge, then where got commission?

If the platform that allows agent to moves client's funds around without client's consent, ....then better move all out, and go ele where.

Which one recommended? FSmone? Only on Phillip due to the frequent 0% promo thing but depending on the outcome of this, considering.
*
If you are comfortable with the current one...thenvstick to it.
What can they do or willing to do ensure that the agent can never access your account again?
Will a new agent for that again?

FSM managed account portfolio = they hv and can make changes to your holding very frequenty...no charges applied for exchanging funds....just the usual portfolio mgmt charges.
They hv no access to make changes to your none managed portfolio account.

I manage to get account reset just before end of operation hour, the manager of this agent said will assign another new agent to assist me next week. I have can file report bla2 and they will take official action once report received or I can settle with the agent privately?! Welp, I am not sure if this is appropriately handled, but there must be some serious SOP issues which provide the loophole. Manager sounds a bit dodgy, I think he is suggesting to settle down quietly, probably not gonna explain to me in details of the loophole. What would you do up to this point?

Whats the difference : FSM managed account portfolio vs Stashaway ?

if you are not lucky enough,....then it could be the reverse too ....have to wait long long time to breakeven
