With the latest changes (QE tappering, China & India slowing down, etc.), Appreciate your views on
Hwang Select Opportunity Fund Eastspring Investments Equity Income Fund AMB Ethical Trust Fund Areca Equity Trust Fund AmTotal Return
Kenanga Growth Fund Kenanga Syariah Growth Fund Hwang AIIMAN Growth Fund AMB Dividend Trust Fund
These funds have performanced well over the past 5 years. But with the current global economic changes and uncertainties, can they still deliver?
I know no one has the crystal ball but appreciate some discussions. E.g., read that there is now a trend to pull out from emerging markets by FF as these markets are slowing down. Thus, funds focusing on emerging markets may not perform like before.
Cheerio.

QUOTE(pinksapphire @ Jul 21 2013, 01:17 AM) Thanks for all your replies. I'll reconsider on this. Initially I thought maybe I could set aside some for it, but doesn't seem like a likely option to go for. Meaning u wanna take 100% equities? Initially I also put off by the low return of bonds, but I still allocate up to 35% of my funds into bonds. Now rebalanced to 80 20.

Now rebalanced to 80 20. Oh, not 100%. I'm still exploring other options. Currently, most of my funds are in FD and some in funds. What's the reason for you to still want to have bonds eventhough you think the return is low? Is it for a good mix of portfolios?

What's the reason for you to still want to have bonds eventhough you think the return is low? Is it for a good mix of portfolios? It's to hedge your portfolio risk, usually when equities fall, bonds will rise. Of course, the correlation is not 100%...
