Guys, recently I purchased Corsair 350D, now thinking about putting some fans at front bay..I am looking for 140mm fans, the obvious choice is Corsair AF140, but any other suggestions?I want red coloured one, either LED or non LED to suit my black/red theme build..

And one more thing, I believe Corsair 350D front intake is quite restricted, so am I better off with static pressure fan, or normal airflow fan should do it?

Thanks..
*
normal fans should suffice, the idea is to draw more air in instead of forcing air through tight gaps.. but if you can get good SP and Air flow why not?

QUOTE(marfccy @ Dec 4 2014, 04:06 AM)
hey guys ive been asking this for quite awhile and so far there is no definite answer sweat.gif

which would be better?

3x120mm or 2x140mm?

theoretically, 140mm push more air, but have lower static pressure.. while 120 have higher static pressure but lower CFM

any ideas?
*
Actually you have to check.. some 140mm do have high static pressure rating like the TY141 from Thermalright or SP140 from Corsair, what is your intended application for these fans?? rads?

well actually fans are at that price for a long time, it all depends on what you're looking for, there are still RM10 fans around but for most of us here in this thread, we're likely to be looking at better fans to suit different needs wink.gif

RM10 fans is total waste of money hehe it will run for few months before it totally crap out

i used to buy server/industrial fan..i still use panaflo and san ace on my rig..10 years++ these fans never ever have any issue..they keep on going and going and they are cheap too when bought used unit

i like thermalright ty-14X series of fans, dont cost alot and kinda push lots of air but the oversize frame a problem doh.gif

Just bought Noctua NF-P14s redux-1500 PWM for my case fan.

bottom intake

Rear exhaust

Noctua NF-A14 IndustrialPPC-3000 PWM replace the stock shitty Corsair fan on H110 AIO, rattle during rotate, irritating.

upper exhaust + radiator pull fan
Attached Image

The 3000RPM fan really loud at full load, but luckily my CPU is delidded hence won't reach that max speed for normal full load unless purposely burn with stress test program.

inexpensive.... very rare have 15mm fans.. I only know Idealtech carry prolimatech ones that are 15mm but not too sure if you would call them inexpensive

Just pick a normal transparent blue LED fan will do, these are normally quiet because they don't push a lot of air... normally for decorative purposes tongue.gif

If you want a good one, I recommend the Spectre Pro from BitFenix, loks great, silent but... it's RM59 for a 120mm haha

Which one more suitable for DIY home/media server that run 24/7?
Mainly to cool 4 HDD. Using casing Elite 343.

user posted image

My goal is lower the HDD temp & quieter server.
Currently using AC F12 PWM+SST-FF123 filter run full speed 1350rpm, average temp between 35-39C & not so silent (humming sound-maybe cause by intake fan grill).

The candidate:

Silverstone SST-AP123

Or

Noctua NF-P12

Both advertised as superior with tight intake fan grill, but need opinion from real life experience....
Thanks guys... notworthy.gif

hi guys..planning to get a cooler master n400 and get 2-3 fans with it (if possible 4)..looking for no LED light fans for around RM15-20 (rm25/fan if really necessary, but between 15-20 would be best)..preferably 12cm ones and will be used on the top and side..something not too noisy, the quieter the better (silent best!) but keeping the pc cool is most important..was earlier recommended to get the CM sickle flow but wanna know if there's any other suggestions..thanks!

I would recommend you to go for Noctua fans although they are a bit pricey.
But they have 6 years warranty for their product.
There is once where once where my Noctua P14 had an oil leak (still under warranty).
I send them a notice and they shipped me a free unit (took about 2 weeks to arrive).

Regarding the PC case, I would recommend you to get Fractal Design Define (Not the Arc version) computer case. I own one and I can tell you its super quiet. I can't even tell if its running unless I feel the air exhausting out of the case or seeing the Power LED light. There are in the range of RM300-400 but its worth every penny. It can hold lots of SSD/HDD too (more than 4). If you are going for this case, you will not need to buy 3rd party custom fans as the stock ones from Fractal Design is super quiet too!

Usually fans that are RM20 and below spoil kinda fast or make weird noise.
I purchased a few Cooler Master fans approximately RM20 each and after a year it made weird noise when spinning.
Then I got some Enermax Magma 12cm fans, priced around RM39 (after using 3 years and it still working like new). And the fan blade can be removed for easier cleaning!
If you have budget, you can look for Noctua fans as they are super silent and they use half power consumption compared to all the fans out there. But it cost around RM60+

Enermax TB Vegas 14cm fans will be quite good (it has red / blue LED lighting) and has different flashing pattern.
If you are pushing air into constricted areas like heatsink or HDD bays, go for static pressure fan.
Exhausting hot air from case can use air flow fans.

Thanks for ur suggestion bro...i'll highly consider the Noctua fan. How you claim the replacement? Send to seller or direct to Inter-Asia?

For the casing, maybe i'll stick to that casing as only need 4 HDD slot now & limited budget. Moreover, it sit under TV cabinet so no one will notice the aesthetically factor... tongue.gif

Hi all! smile.gif

Hoping to ask some of the more veteran people in here, I'm looking to replace the case fans in my CM 690 III and I'm looking for 140mm fans. Maybe around 3 pieces. Criteria I'm looking for are:

1) A good cfm/noise ratio, (I know more cfm = more noise so I'm looking something that has a good combo)
2) PWM fans preferred
3) Non-led black fans preferred
4) I have a budget of roughly RM50 per piece
5) And hopefully something with a nice build qualiy

I've been google-ing here and there. And I found some that interests me, but there are some that I can't find in lelong such as the cougar vortex 140mm fan. Or do you guys have any other suggestions?

I'm very open to suggestions

Thanks in advance! smile.gif
