@local_machine

Left Headlamp is higher than right Headlamp is normal. Reason behind, not to glare the opposite driver.

If you think is too short distance, you still able to manual adjust the headlamp height tilt by checking your owner manual.

Dear Honda Insight owners,

I have bad news for you. If you are intending good resale value, you will be disappointed. I went over to several large used car dealers (along MRR2 - towards sungai buloh), they tell me that they don't fancy hybrid cars and offer very low prices to buy them from sellers. I can see why - because usually unused car dealers may have to keep the car for display for 1 or 2 years before they can sell it. Insight batteries probably last like 5-7 years and battery replacement cost 6k, scares off many potential buyers for unused hybrid cars.

So if you intending to buy a hybrid, make sure you keep it for long.

I bought from an online deal (maybe old stock clearance) that is no longer available (it is cheap but there is a risk, thus the price cannot be compared). You can find it at ebay/lelong/aliexpress or some accessory shops. For installation in KL, it is basically RM10 per tyre. Penang not many tyre shops are doing it (I asked 10 shops and only 1 shop is doing).

I got tyre puncture a few times for my previous car, there is 1 or 2 times the tyre cannot be saved anymore although it is new (Didn't realize and keep driving until I heard very loud tyre noise). Unless you are an experience driver who are alert and notice as soon as something is not right, otherwise installing TPMS is a good safety feature.

Reason for installing TPMS that I found online:

Protection in advance:TPMS directly monitors the Tire's pressure and temperature.when the tire show an abnormal sign,TPMS can Promptly notice the driver to do some corresponding measure to avoid possible tire burst and ensure safety. TPMS can't promise 100 percents avoid tire burst, but he will give you a 7 seconds process time before tire burst.

Extend the tire’s life:when tire’s pressure is 10% pressure value under standard, the tire’s lifespan will reduce 15%.with in-time digital display of pressure and temperature value,TPMS can help driver to keep tire the standard pressure,so as to extend the tire’s life

Save Fuel consumption:when the tire’s pressure is 30% below standard, the fuel consumption increase 15%.TPMS can help drive to keep the tire’s standard pressure, cut fuel consumption.

Protect automobile parts:if driving when the tire is not at the standard pressure(too high or too low),it will bring some abrasion to the engine chassis and suspended system.

Guarantee the normally-operating Brake System:if the tire’s pressure is not in balance,it will make the vehicle run deviate in braking,so as to increase the accident risk.

Monitor the tire in real time:TPMS can help driver control the tire condition easily at any moment in vehicle,so as to help drive to make right decision, and ensure safety.

Unless your Insight is US version if I'm not mistaken.
Our insight has been ripped off a lot of things, including auto-lock.

As I mention in the reason above. Maybe it's not that popular in Malaysia. In US, it is a mandatory feature for safety purposes (If I recall correctly).
If you are willing to spend hundreds or even thousands of ringgits on all the accessories/bodykits, why not this safety enhancement?

About 10 shops in Penang, mostly has no experience on the installation. I went to one of the big tyre shop at Jalan Ayer Itam, can't remember the name, got big Continental tyre signboard one.
My brother did it in KL, cheaper installation.

Thanks for the advice. 6000K is nice but I heard it has a higher percentage to get kacau and hard to see during raining. Furthermore, hope not to cause any vision distraction to other road user. I encounter some cars have very bright light (8000K perhaps) that force me to curse them.
Anyone try on 5000K?
I also don’t want to be get kacau by them :-)
Or install TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), I find it very useful.

No distraction from our car, our headlamp beam is quite low compared to other cars. So far when i drive in town, i set angle to "1" while on highway, angle "0"... smile.gif

Until now, no one beam me back biggrin.gif

wink.gif Not from insight so far, other cars.
How's the visibility during raining time?
I heard some people encounter melting (bulb perhaps), is it due to improper installation or bad HID?

Any other reason people selecting slim ballast? Easy to hide?

Yeah... rainny day ok.. but if you can get 5000k better for rainny day lor. Melting is due to fit into the hole touching the side... if you buy a reputable brand like Osram or Philips, should be ok. Do not use those too cheap HID. I have no confidence in using that. I have been using HID for more than 1 year... no problem biggrin.gif

Slim ballast not to say hide, just it can fit smaller space underneath your bonnet. I have nothing to hide the ballast for.. i just use cable tie and hang it on both side biggrin.gif

Which is why I am pondering to buy a used hybrid car. But i haven't seen one yet displayed by used car dealers.

Nobody can trust the used car dealers lah but one fact for sure, used car dealers don't like hybrids because they need to display cars for years (take up shelf space) before they can sell it. The hybrid car batteries makes it unattractive.
