Changed tyres from Jap Dunlop SP2030 to ContiComfortContact 5 (CC5).
UTQG TW 360 Traction A Temp A.
Load Index 83
Speed Index V
Profile: 185/55
Rim: 16 x6 JJ (stock alloy)
Price RM265 (high side. Can be had for RM235-255 if done at Conti shop)
Others: Metal valves, nitrogen, balancing

My mechanic added adjustable camber bush on FL side. Testament to hitting a deep pothole in Pothole Jaya (PJ).

I ask about Bridgestone Ecopia (Thailand) and it came to RM345 (probably RM310) for 185/55 profile. Michelin XM2 about Rm290++. CC5 will do for now. Tyre quieter but FC upped slightly but should improve after certain km of running in.

Stock tyres flaking off the sides after 31,000 km. I actually did pump it up to 42F/40R in PSI to test out claims by US forums that had them claiming that their fuel economy improved. Well it's true it does. Easily can reach 24-25 on NKVE but don't know if side flaking is due to overinflation beyond 32/30 or the compound formulation cannot take our weather. I have a porch which does not cover half the car so mostly park front facing out which means the fromt tyres take punishment from the sun. Anyway tyre wall states do not inflate beyond 51PSI so the higher than usual is still well within the range.

Q: what's our stock 16" rim offset and PCD?
A: Found it here. PCD 100 Offset 45. 40 will be too out. [26 Nov 2012]

Note: Next round, will plan to experiment with 15" x 6JJ rims. Have a couple in mind. Reason being 195/55-60 profile prices and choices are wider and cheaper. Could also go for 185/60. Real reason: saw the Federal Formoza FD2 195/55/R15 (UTQG Treadwear 420 Traction A Temperature A).  drool.gif  It has 4 water evacuating channels compared to the conventional 3 that's common to all. 195/55/R15 will be 2.42% faster than stock 185/55/R16  but will lowers the ride by 6-7mm. Not keen if wider than 195 cos hv owned 2006 City iDSI and have seen fuel economy degrade 3-4km/l in city driving conditions although handling improved. Perhaps the Ecopia may change my perception since it's supposed to be improved. Checking the brake assembly area behind the rim, it should be able to downsize to 15". Only need to know PCD and offset for the current 16" rims.

Update: Some info on rim and tyre size difference but based on 185/60/R15 as benchmark.

last saturday, i to to SC to service 20K.. a few info from the SA..

if take the 10k discount, cannot get the 0.88% interest.. need to pick only one option..

which 1 is better ? 10k disc or 0.88% ? tongue.gif
*
That depends on the years of loan you taking. If you are taking longer loan, then take the 0.88% interest lor. Else.. money come first.

If original Zeus from Japan, should cost no less than RM10k. If local replica, should be around RM1-2k maybe. You can check around forum and mudah.my... some ppl are selling it smile.gif

For those who installed HID, what is the color temperature that you choose? 5000K? Any other advice on selecting HID?
Still considering for my next upgrade.
*
Our projector headlamp is good to use anything 5000k and above. 4300k is like OEM lights. I tested both 4300k and 6000k bulbs. Well, still prefer the "more white" bulbs of 6000k.

Get a decent brand of HID and don't spend RM100-200 for those China made one, they don't last long and quality may not be as good.

It is quite quiet compare to most cars but if compare with Prius or CT200h then noisier than the 2.

Thanks for the advice. 6000K is nice but I heard it has a higher percentage to get kacau and hard to see during raining. Furthermore, hope not to cause any vision distraction to other road user. I encounter some cars have very bright light (8000K perhaps) that force me to curse them.
Anyone try on 5000K?
I also don’t want to be get kacau by them :-)
Or install TPMS (Tyre pressure monitoring system), I find it very useful.

No distraction from our car, our headlamp beam is quite low compared to other cars. So far when i drive in town, i set angle to "1" while on highway, angle "0"... smile.gif

Until now, no one beam me back biggrin.gif

Yeah... rainny day ok.. but if you can get 5000k better for rainny day lor. Melting is due to fit into the hole touching the side... if you buy a reputable brand like Osram or Philips, should be ok. Do not use those too cheap HID. I have no confidence in using that. I have been using HID for more than 1 year... no problem biggrin.gif

Slim ballast not to say hide, just it can fit smaller space underneath your bonnet. I have nothing to hide the ballast for.. i just use cable tie and hang it on both side biggrin.gif

Oh yes... an used Insight registered year 2011 now worth only RM70k+... all the cars also depreciate real fast these days... finished instalment also cannot afford to upgrade other cars..

I think shouldn't put your gear to P during traffic lights, the proper way to drive automatic transmission car is put to N and pull your handbreak.

hi bro, i wonder if u want to sell me ur original Honda Insight radio screen cover to me? since u just upgrade to DVD players i just scratched mine weeks ago.
or i could exchange mine with u by paying u certain money?

Hi Chris, the whole piece (screen + player) is attached to the panel. I don't think i will want to dismatle it for sale. The OEM player I would keep for next time selling car then reinstall it back. Sorry.

Thank you.

Hi all, my car will be going for 40k km service. Heard from some of you that the cost is quite expensive (around RM1k+). Anyone who has done the 40k km service can share what things that Honda service/ replaced?

Thank you. smile.gif
