yep, i noticed it last night. was waiting for someone to report first!


this "unifi china quota finished disease" recurs every 2 months - sep 2014, nov 2104 and now, jan 2015.

the last 2 times, it took about 2 weeks for the disease to be cured.

but can expect it to return in mar, may, july.... mad.gif

was able to stream china sites like normal this evening.

hope this 24 hrs turnaround is real, and not 2 weeks like the last 2 times!

I just updated q5ii emmc to 109:

... MG launcher now is the same as q16 107.

this is a simple yet powerful apk.

hundreds of live tv stations from many countries - sports, news, music, movies, tv shows, etc.

almost all sd, a bit off color and some with wrong aspect ratios. but... just about all of them work, stable.

if looking for skypsorts 1-5 and the like, they are all there.

for china live tv channels, this one is excellent, highly recommended.

all 480p-720p-1080p. very stable except for some 1080p channels which lags a bit.

very easy to use.

this LiveTVplus2 is not as comprehensive as HDP but more stable and smoother, easier to use.

certainly better than HiTV's Live TV.

bro, it's good to start with a lower model. if u like it, u will upgrade to higher models that can take more apps, larger apps.

i started 1.5 yrs ago with a q5ii non-emmc, then q5ii emmc, then q16. all 3 in good use.

i find himedia hardware very good, better than i expected.

i hv to say it does take a bit of work to get it running well, which makes seller support very critical, esp in the early stage.

n if u hv a need with chinese, nicety will pre-install all that for u! biggrin.gif

users, MOBDRO is among the best apps u can get - small size, simple, fast, easy to use and reliable.

only disadvantage is all channels are sd.

i just checked - skysports 1, 2, sky sports f1, are all working good.

at the same time, these channels... some work, some don't in bbts and iptv stalker in kodi.

this file... yes, i remember...

audio1 7.1 dolby truehd is problematic - cracking, audio loss, etc.
switch to audio2 or 3, ac3 or dd 5.1, will be ok.

this problem has been brought up before.
i have tried a few dd truehd, some ok, some not for audio.
don't know why, i suspect the "ripping" process for the file missed something.
star trek into the darkness and jupiter ascending are dd truehd, no problem.

never seen this problem with dtshdma.

note: this problem exist on another brand media player of mine too.

if u hv another player that plays that file properly in dd truehd7.1, it would mean the codec is superior to that of himedia.

i just watched a full episode with puding, in "namkwang"/bluray resolution.

works fine with q16 and q5ii, on unifi. no vpn.

possible streamyx issue?

can't expect all to work well all the time for the free shows.

some shows like in imgotv, u can only watch up to a certain %, then only paid VIP membership can continue.

other shows, other apps, may depend on traffic volume, time of the day.

the key is to have enough apps so that there is enough good stuff to watch at any time.

if one show is so hard to watch, i just move on to another.

and i watch only hd stuff. tongue.gif



on the subject, i am glad unifi seems to hv overcome the "bandwidth" problem. sep 2104-mar 2015, there were periods where nothing gets through with china sites. only with vpn will anything work.
