Hi,

I bought one of these boxes a month or so ago, but have struggled to find much on the web about them. Does anyone know how to root them, as I'd like to use it with droidmote? Also I'd be keen to know which version of xbmc anyone would recommend currently.
Thanks in advance
Deken

Please correct me I am wrong. The region code restriction is depend on the DVD Disc and the player. If the player is region code free then any region coded disc could be play. If you download BD ISO from internet, most are region code free media file.

You can share the HDD in Q5II via SAMBA to your windows computer.

P/S : Q5II come with normal SATA port not eSATA.

I currently have a Windows HTPC, but it constantly gives me trouble, and I'm getting tired of it.
To be able to play region coded DVD/Blu-ray disks I have had to purchase a software player that includes a license for region support. You can then set your region in the player a limited number of times (5 I think). After that the player is locked to the last chosen region, and you can only play disks coded for that region.

On Google Play I haven't found any players with region support. My question is: Does the Q5 II native player includes region support since the Q5 II supports removable disk media?

Bro, most of the DVR/BD ROM in the market are Windows ready, it will not be detected by Android if you plug the ROM into Q5II.

I tested with my SATA DVD ROM, the ROM is not detected by the Android.

As I know, there is not possible to switch language within the same channel. If there is dual language channel, then it suppose to appear in two language menu under different name.

First of all, I would like to clarify that I am not reseller of CloudTV :-)

The different of paid service is it give you certain level of service availability. When the link is broken, they will fix it and always there is backup link available for contingency purpose. Compare to other paid service, Cloud TV is one of the most cost effective provider.

Pls test the premium trial. You can test the NTV mentioned in the above few thread as well.

Once again I would like to clarify that I am not the reseller of any paid service. Just merely to share there is such service in the market.

Q5II Firmware 1.0.3 initial test result :
1). Mainly change the User Interface (UI)
2). Fix the bugs of App installer where "Install" button could not use mouse click.

4). Android Widget works now, version 1.0.2 could not add widget
5). The native browser rename to "HiBrowser". Pls do not panic if you could not find the browser.

Information to share
0). Because the upgrade will totally reformat your Q5II, please backup the apps into your external drive with the backup tool I pre-installed for you.
1). To upgrade the firmware, pls download the firmware zip file to pen-drive or portable USB disk.
2). Do not unzip the file, just save in the root directory.
3). Goto Settings -> System Upgrade -> Select the drive letter of your Pen-drive
4). The player will reboot and Green robot will show the progress of upgrade.
5). After done, the player will reboot again.
6). Restore back the Apps after firmware upgrade. The xBMC re-installation will be more time consuming, pls check the Q5 FAQ for the installation steps.
