Thank you bro.

Today media player has no problem to play huge files, maybe you hear some where that huge file cannot play. But to be noted the online streaming is depend on the Internet speed and the Apps streaming technology not the hardware. Just pmed to you.

QUOTE(wattanasin @ Oct 6 2013, 07:55 PM)
Ive got it last night this box from overseas.
Played for a while and found that.

Solve :

- airplay software which came with the box is not compatible with ios7 youtube app yet also youtube app late version doesnt work too. To solve this problem use Protube app found on app store and find older youtube .apk should work

- Plex works great and also easier to change to external players like MX player found in option list.

Question

- native player came with himedia q5ii cant find a short cut in home screen it just appears when you play local files. Even when i use plex ro play from nas its not there. Any one can tell me how to make it there

- Xbmc still notwork with internal player.

- need to know what special is this device 's hardware to support hd media or 3d full rip ? Cos spec is very same with others. If everything came from hardware power
So i can pick any player supporting HW render 3d full rip should work the same way with native player right?
*
Please find below my answer :

1). Change the Himedia launcher to Android native launcher then you can see the Media Player icon. Q5II Himedia launcher hide the media player and music player.

2). As mentioned earlier, to solve your problem change the xBMC internal player to MX Player.

3). The special is the native player functionality you could not find in other player.
P/S : The build-in media player is not Android native player but Himedia developed apps. Himedia has been in traditional media player market for some time, they have their owned developed apps.

A query:

I need a media player for watching movies up to 720P with external hard disk, listening to music (Flac/mp3 files on HDD), internet radio along with gmail, youtube, skype. I am not into 3D movies and streaming.

Shall I go for Q5 for all these requirements as someone is selling it a forum? Or I need to buy Q5II?

From your requirement Q5 is sufficient. You may opt for Q5 if there is major price gap.

Its not an APK, normally I boot up my 1186 box and choose from the 电视直播 than the taiwan news (壹电视新闻)was inside the Haoims 港澳台直播. I can play smoothly last time but start from this month I'm only able to watch about 4 min than kick out.

So I decided to buy an Android box which is support to install APK to play with those HK, TW news and drama,

Thanks for your professional recommendation first.

That mean your TV source no longer stable, that is the limitation of hardcoded device.

Q5II could do DIY TV channel, whenever you have new TV source you can add or remove by your self.

The best way is to get the right APK file and install as Android Apps in you device.

Hi nicety,

Just received Q5II and airmouse. thanks.

Was playing around with the apps, but it happened few times that the apps crashed and caused my TV screen to show HIMEDIA word for a while before defaulting back to home page. Is this normal?

Also, how do i uninstall the apps that i dont want/cant use? Some chinese apps cant use due to ip address limitation.

I tried to update some of the pre-installed apps such as Xunlei Kankan and youku but download always failed. is this normal?

Thank you bro. You may uninstall those crash apps from the Settings -> Apps -> All Apps and select the apps to be uninstalled. Most of the apps crash was due to compatibility of the Android 4.2.

Btw, do you received my Getting Started Guide email ? The email will guide you how to bypass those Chinese Apps IP address limitation.

bro nicety, thank you so much.

You are so kind to extend help irrespective of the fact whether one bought the media player from you or not.

Any links on how to install the latest firmware? The ones mentioned in some posts in this thread are not working.

Please find below Himedia English Web site to download the firmware.
http://www.himediatech.com/list_8.html

Pls do not unzip the downloded file, just save into Pendrive root directory. Then goto Setting -> Upgrade and choose the drive you store the firmware zip file. Your Q5 will reboot and went into Green Robot screen.
