Hi, I'm planning to buy an android tv box, considering himedia or new xiaomi tv box.
May I know which 1 is better? HiMedia Q5-II or H7? Can I store BD iso in NAS and stream to himedia? Can himedia be rooted? Can I install xposed framework into himedia? Thanks |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Feb 26 2014, 02:09 AM) good news for qe5ii owners finding lagging in xbmc 720p/1080p streaming. i can't seem to find the path after upgrade to 1.0.6 non-emmc version.. please help...one way (not sure if it is the only way) is to overwrite a file to change the cache size so that a bigger buffer is used. very impt, first read and do what this page says: http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=HOW-T...the_video_cache save the file named advancedsettings.xml described in the article on a usb drive (sd1), plug into machine. using es file explorer, find this file: /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata copy the xml file onto it; u will be asked to overwrite existing file, ok. the xml file is this: <advancedsettings> <network> <cachemembuffersize>104857600</cachemembuffersize> </network> </advancedsettings> |

QUOTE(bruce07 @ Apr 7 2014, 11:54 AM) i assume u now have 1.0.6 non emmc china version.to get to the folder to place an advancedsetting.xml file, u can't get there with file manager. u need an app called es file explorer, which can be found with playstore. however, that firmware u got, think playstore is not there. so, u need to get the apk from elsewhere (google to it) into usb drive, install it via file manager. with es explorer, u first need to click tools, show all files. if not, some files will remain hidden. then u copy the advancedsettings.xml file from usb (sd1) and paste (overwrite if there is already same file name) onto the right folder with this path: /sdcard/Android/data/org.xbmc.xbmc/files/.xbmc/userdata i had initially used this xml file on xbmc 12.3 in 1.0.6 non-emmc china on a q5ii non-emmc. not perfect but there is good improvement: QUOTE <advancedsettings> <network> <cachemembuffersize>104857600</cachemembuffersize> </network> </advancedsettings now, i use this one copied from 1.0.6 emmc eng in a q5ii emmc. QUOTE <advancedsettings> <network> <cachemembuffersize>5242880</cachemembuffersize> <curlclienttimeout>45</curlclienttimeout> </network> <gui> <algorithmdirtyregions>3</algorithmdirtyregions> <nofliptimeout>0</nofliptimeout> </gui> <videoscanner> <ignoreerrors>true</ignoreerrors> </videoscanner> </advancedsettings> u can try both, pretty sure 2nd file works better. q5ii emmc and non-emmc, i now hv both running xbmc 12.3 smoothly, no crashing, minimal lagging with hd. any q5ii user not getting that is missing a lot! Hay Guys,
I recently bought the Q5 II eMMC 1.0.5 and having issues with XBMC 12.3 Frodo constantly crashing. I have dumped the log file via debug mode but cant see anything suspicious/pattern. Randomly crashes when playing local movie and/or streaming tv/movie via addons. Can anyone please help me? Thanks Pointertonull |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Apr 7 2014, 02:41 PM) ok manage to get the apk and set the advancedsettings.xml accordingly ( used the 2nd version). it shows improvement when watching HD, however when there are fast scenes like fighting of fast cars it still tends to lag alittle but the major problem is that whenever scenes like that occurs, the sound is not in sync with the picture (sound is faster than picture). Was wondering would it be because of hardware or Unifi (5mbps) line.... |

(if u have noticed, in mashup-hackermils, there is an option to increase the buffer too - it increases 5242880 by 4 times.) result is not interesting - no change in terms of some 1080 stuttering, but is stable like original. which probably means the buffer size is not critical or limit reached in this case when some other restrictions have been taken care of. 104857600 is an example given in the xbmcwiki page which increases buffer to 100mb, will use 300mb live memory, shud be ok. no need to remove and reinstall xbmc 12.3. just copy and paste/overwrite the xml onto right folder. also, go to settings, apps, xbmc and clear cache - this may help. if u experience crashing again, it may be due to something else. could be yr broadband speed unstable or unusually weak at that time. in my experience, xbmc crashing is common when broadband speed becomes unstable or goes to a low intermittently.
